Because I am a Girl Plan Thailand initiated global campaign
called Because I
am a girl to fight for gender inequality, promote girls
rights
and lift millions of girls out poverty. Plan Thailand
initiated
Media Photo Training in order to train young adolescent
girls to raise their social impact to their live by using
media
for public attention and key stakeholders to make decision
and help them from child exploitation through media in-
struments. By training the 15 girls from Mae Salongnok Districk
, Mae
Chan District understanding how to take good photo in
several tips and techniques from the Professional Photog-
raphers. The trainers provided basic functions of differ-
ent cameras for taking photo in lighting and shadow areas,
naturals adn candid including with close up for postage of
people at Archathong village for the concept of Livelihood
in remote area.

The girls selected the best 3 photos they most like it and
describe for photo caption in order to create their ideas why they
taken the photos and what will reflect to the topic. The photos
they have selected have been developed to present in the next
day.
The trainers reviewed the photos taking by girls and instructed
for photo captions to meet the photo in term of emotional and
reflect their life through the photo which will be reflected to the
issues affected of girls and women livelihood.
Their showcases have been shown on the event of Because I am a
Girl at Queen Sirikit Center with an honor for grand opening by
Primie Min-ister Abhisit Vejjajiva on September 19, 2010

Plan Thailand initiated an event on Because I am a girl at Queen
Sirikit Convention Center on September 2011. The overall cam-paign
will bring about what Plan Thailand have been accomplished in
preventing and protection of children to stakeholders and public.
We have had an honor from Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva as a key
note speaker for the opening ceremony. The Prime Minister expressed
his speech to advocate all pepole to protect and promote the girls
from cyber and child exploitation. The campaign will base on output
from studies and analysis from the key target groups as well as the
recent study reearch on Girl and ICT in partnership with Child
Protection Partnership (CPP) to study on ICT related affecting
children and youth especially girls, opportu-nity and threat of ICT
usage related to child rights and protection.
The campaign presented the outcome research on Girls and ICT in
Thailand and share and lift up voices of girls into various
channels. In additional, there will be photo exhibition which is
presented by young 15 girls representative from children without
legal status. The photo-graphs are reflecting stories about their
community through the lens of girls.
