5th May 1st Spring Hive Inspection – checking for Queen, space, diseases
16th May Feed the bees sugar syrup and open up the doorways
Friday 20th May 12 noon
Visit to Newcastle University’s Bee Research - Neuroscience
Come on a short guided tour of the world-class research here, see the bumblebees and the honeybees in their University homes.
Tbc May Kit inspection, creating an inventory and a sanitisation strategy
Tbc May/June Experimental Candle Making (melting & using up the dirty broodwax)
Weekly in June Hive Inspections – depend on the weather!
