THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN

Realize That God Loves You. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory to God.” (Romans 3:23).

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The Good News Is That Christ Paid for Our Sins. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

We Must Personally Pray and Receive Christ by Faith as Our Personal Saviour. The Bible Says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

Your Thoughts

Think about it:

God created the beginning of all that we

know, so He existed before the beginning.

Think About it:

God is not dependent upon our existence. He existed before we were

created.

In the Beginning Read Genesis 1:1-5. The Bible begins, “in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” The word “beginning” means the first in place, time, order, or rank. It is the first cause, the commencement of time as we know it. As humans, we trace everything back to an origin. We think of a plant as a seed being planted at a specific time. We look at a car and understand there is a date of manufacture. We as humans have a birthdate when we began to be. What is this the beginning of? Here we have the beginning of everything but God. Specifically the beginning of heaven and the earth. This is the initial creation of the universe and earth on day one with its formation occurring over the next five days.

This is the beginning of time as we know it. Right here at this very moment is when the world clock begins to tick. At this specific point, time begins. This is the first second of the first hour of the first day. This took place roughly 6,000 years ago.

Genesis 1:1 says that, “in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” God created the beginning of all that we know. The word “created” used here means to create something from nothing, to cause to exist, or to bring into existence. It is the initiation of an object in contrast to the manipulating of an object after its original creation. God is only used as the subject to this verb. He is the only one who can create something from nothing. The other two words used in the creation account are “made” and “formed” which mean to construct from pre-existing materials.

“The Foundation of it All” A Study in Genesis 1-11 Lesson 1

The creation of the heaven and earth marked the beginning. From nothing God created two things: the heaven and the earth. The heaven mentioned here is the vast universe that we know yet without the sun or stars as these were created later. The earth was “without from, and void” in Genesis 1:2. The earth at this point was a ball of water without any land forms and any life. We may ask, How did God create such enormous things? The Bible teaches that God willed it and it happened. Psalm 148:5 tells us, “for he commanded, and they were created.” God spoke the heaven and the earth into existence. Think about that! He is all powerful. A power we cannot fully comprehend. Why at this point did God create the heaven and the earth? Revelation 4:11 gives us a little insight. It says, “for though hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” God created all this because He wanted to. It is all for His pleasure. For one to speak all that we see and know into existence from nothing is a power that we cannot fathom. This is where it all begins.

Your Thoughts

God Created the Beginning

Read Colossians 1:16-17. Notice what it says in verse 17, “he is before all things.” This means He is in front of or earlier than all things. In order for God to create the beginning, He had to already exist. He precedes all things and by Him all things are held together. God existed before the beginning and created the beginning of all that we know. God Created the Heaven & Earth in the Beginning

This kind of power should being us to our knees in awe, wonder, praise, and worship.
