the artiststeve kustro

Born in Sydney and based on the Central Coast, Steve Kustro’s passion for creative expression has gravitated towards photography and painting in recent years. Fascinated by natural landscapes, Steve strives to present a unique perspective that shines a new light on the world around us. Inspired by the ever-changing nature of the ocean and it’s near-mythical place at the heart of Australian culture, Steve’s images provide a sense of tranquility and seem to draw the observer towards another world.

Rarely planning what subjects to capture in his work, Steve believes in the improvisational nature of life and finds that his subjects usually present themselves to him as moments in time that tell a story. Steve hopes that his work provides a source of joy and inspiration for others.

Steve Kustrosydney, australia

Largely self-taught, Steve is always keen to see where his muse will take him next, experimenting with both subject matter and canvas. “Much like life itself, I believe the artistic process is always a work in progress and I can’t wait to see where it takes me next.”

the artistlance laurence

Photographer Lance Laurence is a California native. Since the first Pentax SLR hit his hands at age 12, he has been mesmerized and enthralled with all things photographic. Beginning in 2012, he has been traveling internationally, capturing images of his journeys, the people, cultures and landscapes he has encountered.

His drive arises from being confronted with a stunningly beautiful world; Laurence seeks to share his perceptions of it with others.

About the artwork:These images are all long exposures and have captured the movement of the ocean. I like to take the chaotic movement of the ocean and still it through capturing its movement long enough that it appears to soften and become calm. The more the ocean moves while the shutter is open the softer and more still it appears.

the artistdavid magro

David Magro’s style of photography combines striking landscapes with the beauty of the night sky to create scenes not visible with the naked eye. Using long exposures, he is able the capture light from the Milky Way which is 27,000 years from the past, planets, meteors, nearby galaxies, airglow and the Aurora Australis which was seen north of Sydney.

David ventures out into the darkest, most remote locations away from city lights to see uninterrupted skies full of stars. Using his photography, he hopes to influence people into taking the time to experience the night sky as his passion stems from watching meteor showers as a child.

This passion has led him to teach photography, selling photographs around the world and being featured by BBC. With each image, he enjoys the experience being underneath the stars and he portrays this through imagery.

the artistsue mcarthur

A photographer based in Sydney, Sue McArthur’s formative years were spent in early 1950s Sydney and is a grandmother of 6. She was a former student of Fine Arts and photography with a desire to express herself visually. She tries to capture images in a painterly fashion and soft colour palette, endeavouring to produce a calming effect. The photos are resonant with the painters, Claude Monet, Roy de Maistre, Vincent van Gogh and more lately Mark Rothko all of who have held an influence on Sue’s life.
