FINALLY...THE TRUTH You’re NOT overweight because you ate too much!

You’re overweight because you DIDN’T EAT ENOUGH!

THAT’S RIGHT! YOU DIDN’T EAT ENOUGH...of SOMETHING ESSENTIAL! Your body is missing

Clinics, Appetite Suppressant & Stimulating Drugs, Hypnosis, etc...only treat the symptoms...the body

gets worse due to the depletion of more nutrients resulting form the cutback of food!

WHAT SYMPTOMS TO EXPECT WHEN YOU IMPROVE YOUR DIET

By Dr. Stanley S. Bass, N.D., D.C., Ph.C. If I were asked which is the area of greatest misunderstanding and confusion in the field of nutrition, I would definitely be forced to reply, it is the failure to properly understand and interpret the symptoms and changes which follow the beginning of a better program. A better nutritional program is the introduction of foods of higher quality in place of lower quality ones. The quality of a nutritional program is also improved by omitting toxic substances such as coffee, tea, chocolate, tobacco, salt, pepper, etc. Remarkable things begin to happen to the body as well as the mind. When the quality of the food coming into the body is of higher quality than the tissues, which the body is made of, the body begins to discard the lower grade materials and tissues to make room for the superior, which it uses to make the newer and healthier tissues. What are the symptoms or signs, which become evident when we first begin to omit the lower grade foods and instead introduce superior foods? When the use of a toxic is suddenly stopped, headaches are common and a letdown occurs. This is due to the discard by the body of toxins, which are transported by the bloodstream during its many bodily rounds. Before the noxious agents reach their final destination for elimination, these irritant register in our consciousness as pain or headache. Usually, within three days the symptoms disappear and we feel stronger due to the recuperation, which follows. As one continues on the improved diet and gradually raises the quality, interesting symptoms begin to appear. The body begins a process called “retracing.” The cellular intelligence has a chance to get rid of old garbage and build a beautifully new house. The accent is on elimination and the body begins to move garbage deposited in the tissues. People may experience skin rashes or eruptions due to elimination of poisons and harmful drugs through the skin. If they go to a doctor not familiar with this aspect of nutrition, he might diagnose it as an allergy and suggest the diet be discontinued. They don’t understand that the body is “retracing.” The skin is getting more alive and active. These toxins being discarded are saving you from more serious disease, which will result if you keep them in your body too much longer. Possibility: hepatitis, kidney disorders, blood disease, heart disease, arthritis, nerve degeneration, or ever cancer. With some, colds may occur, or even fever. THIS IS NATURE’S WAY OF HOUSE CLEANING. Understand that those actions are constructive, even though unpleasant at the moment. DON’T try to stop these symptoms by the use of certain drugs. These symptoms are part of a cleansing process. These are not deficiency conditions or allergic reaction. Symptoms, then may include: headaches at the beginning, fever and/or colds, skin breakouts, bowel sluggishness, occasional diarrhea, tiredness, nervousness, irritability, negativity, etc. Some people are not affected by the cleansing process at all. If you are……BEAR WITH IT!

WATER HOW 8 GLASSES A DAY KEEPS THE FAT AWAY

Incredible as it may seem, water is possibly the single most important catalyst in losing weight & keeping it off. Although most of us take it for granted, water may be the only true “magic potion” for permanent weight loss.

Water suppresses the appetite naturally and helps the body metabolize stored fat. Studies have shown that a decrease in water intake will cause fat deposits to increase, while and increase in water intake can actually reduce fat deposits. Here’s why: The kidneys can’t function properly without enough water. When they don’t work to capacity, some of the load is dumped onto the liver. One of the Liver’s primary functions is to metabolize stored fat into usable energy for the body. But if the liver has to do some of the kidney’s work, it can’t operate at full throttle. As a result, it metabolizes less fat. More fat remains stored in the body and weight loss stops. Drinking enough water is the best treatment for fluid retention. When the body gets less water, it perceives this as a threat to survival and begins to hold on to every drop. Water is stored in extracellular spaces (outside the cells). This shows up as swollen feet, legs and hands. Diuretics offer a temporary solution at best. They force out stored water along with some essential nutrients. Again, the body perceives a threat and will replace the lost water at the first opportunity. Thus, the condition quickly returns. The best way to overcome the problem of water retention is to give your body what it needs-plenty of water. Only then will stored water be released. If you have a constant problem with water retention, excess salt may be to blame. Your body will tolerate sodium only in a certain concentration. The more salt you eat, the more water your system retains to dilute it. But, getting rid of unneeded salt is easy– just drink more water.

As it is forced through the kidneys it takes away excess sodium. The overweight person needs more water than the thin one. Larger people have larger metabolic loads. Since we know that water is the key to fat metabolism, it follows that the overweight person needs more water. Water helps to maintain proper muscle tone by giving muscles their natural ability to contract and by preventing dehydration. It also helps to prevent the sagging skin that usually follows weight loss – shrinking cells are buoyed by water, which plumps the skin and leaves it clear, healthy and resilient. Water helps rid the body of waste. During weight loss, the body has a lot more waste to get rid of – all that metabolized fat must be shed. Again adequate water helps flush out the waste. Water can help relieve constipation. When the body gets too little water, it siphons what it needs from internal sources. The colon is one primary source. Result? Constipation. But when a person drinks enough water, normal bowel function usually returns. So far, we’ve discovered some remarkable things about water and weight loss: · The body will not function properly without enough water and can’t metabolize stored fat efficiently. · Retained water shows up as excess weight. · To get rid of excess water you must drink more water · Drinking more water is essential to weight loss.

How much water is enough? On the average, a person should drink eight (8 ounce) glasses every day, that’s about 2 quarts. However, the overweight person needs one additional glass for every 25 pounds of excess weight. The amount you drink also should be increased if you exercised briskly or if the weather is hot and dry. Water should preferably be cold – it’s absorbed into the system more quickly than warm water. And some evidence suggests that drinking cold water actually help burn calories. When the body gets the water it needs to function optimally, its fluids are perfectly balanced. When this happens you have reached the “breakthrough point” What does this mean? - Endocrine gland function improves. - Fluid retention is alleviated as stored fat. - More fat is used as fuel because the liver is free to metabolize stored fat. - Natural thirst returns. - There is a loss of hunger almost overnight If you stop drinking enough water your body fluids will be thrown out of balance again, and you may experience fluid retention, unexplained weight gain and loss of thirst. To remedy the situation you’ll have to go back and force another “breakthrough”

What is Herbalife? Herbalife is a scientifically formulated, herbal-based, calorie-reduced nutrition program. It is centered around our unique high-energy, protein-rich, nutritional “shake” or meal replacement drink, Formula #1, to which has been added food supplements containing important vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and nutritional herbs. The Herbalife program has been used by literally millions of individuals around the world for weight control and health enhancement since 1980. Do You Lose Weight Because You Skip Meals? No. Herbalife’s calorie-reduced program encourages participants to eat three meals daily. Two usual meals are in the form of our nutritionally balanced meal replacement drink and the third is any meal of your choice. In addition, Herbalife has devised a seven day recommended meal plan which is distributed with its program. Diets which require people to skip meals are unhealthy and stimulate binge eating. Customer Problems/Solutions Occasionally when you have customers that are taking the products, there will be some questions or concerns that may come up. Below you will find some of the most common concerns and questions along with the answers to

those concerns/questions.

Energy: “How is your energy level?” Correct Answer: “Great! Lots of energy all day long!” Wrong Answer: “I am tired” or “Same as it always was….low.” First, clarify energy…for some energy may be less fatigue, more stamina and endurance or requiring less sleep or no longer needing naps. It doesn’t always mean that people are bouncing off the walls. However, if they are not feeling any of the above….here are some tips to make sure they are using the products correctly. • Are they getting their first shake within 30 mins of waking up? • Are they mixing their shake with milk (not soy)…this can cause you to feel tired. If they are not using soy milk, have them try it. The brand we recommend is the Original “Silk” • Are they drinking their tea (two or three times per day) • Are they using enough tea • Are they snacking on protein snacks throughout the day? When we don’t get sufficient calories or grams of protein, our bodies will respond by feeling run down and tired. • And lastly, are they remembering to take all their tablets throughout the day? If they are doing all of the above, then ask your personal coach for help. Generally if they are not feeling enough energy it is caused by

one of the above. Another tip to give….drink MORE TEA!!! Appetite: “How has your appetite been throughout the day/evening?” Correct Answer: “I feel satisfied all day long!” Wrong Answer: “I am STARVING!” Make sure they are using their program correctly. Two shakes, one meal, tablets 3 times per day and healthy snacking when needed. Hunger isn’t always a bad thing, in fact it can be a great sign that the metabolism is increasing and burning through the calories they have put in their system, therefore it needs more. Tips to suggest. • Are they getting their shake within 30 mins of waking up? If not, have them do this! • Are they eating a piece of fruit with their shake? If not, have them do so (or blend it in the shake) • Are they drinking enough water throughout the day (half their weight in ounces)? • Are they snacking throughout the day (healthy and high protein snacks)? If not, have one mid-morning and/or mid-afternoon (whenever the hunger is hitting). • Are they getting their necessary protein grams in throughout the day? If not, start to. Nausea, diarrhea, constipation or headaches: Headaches can be the result of a few things: • Cutting out all caffeine cold turkey. Sometimes when people start making healthy lifestyle changes, one thing they decide to cut out is all caffeine (coffee and soda). If that is the case recommend that they begin using the tea. We have heard several times that using the tea while giving up coffee and soda helps to ease or eliminate caffeine headaches. If they are using tea – have them drink more. • The use of milk…if your customer is mixing their shakes with milk, have them switch to soy (we recommend isWoolworths

Alpro or Milk Soy ).

• Cleansing. Although rare, once in a while you will have a customer that starts using the products and as a result of getting in proper nutrition, their body starts to detox and some people have headaches while going through a detox.
