I am a gift from GodHello children, I hope you had a lovely week.

We began our lessons on family and last week we had an incredible time learning about God’s great idea for families and that is for a man and a woman to get married in church and when they are together, God blesses them with children as gifts.

Children you are a gift from God and no one can take that wonderful privilege from you.

And now that you know you are a gift, a blessing and that God has a special purpose for your life, today I want you to learn that you can be the best you in this life God has blessed us with.

So, our topic today is, “Being the Best You.”

I would like you to put there your name, “Being the Best ...”

Let me ask you, “How can you be the best in your family or with your friends at school?”

The Bible reminds us in Ephesians 2:10 "that we are God’s workmanship created to do good things."

I am a gift from GodWhen God made you, His plan was for you to be the Best You at every stage of

your life.

How old are you? Are you 10, 3, 12, 50?

How can you Be The Best You now?

For example, you are 8 years, and you are asked to wash dishes, how can you be the best at washing dishes? If it is a gift that God has given to you like singing, dancing or when you read your bible, how can you be the best at applying what you have learnt from it.

Let’s look in our bibles and read Ecclesiastes 3:1-3

“There is a right time for everything. everything on earth has its special season. there is a time to be born and a time to die.”

When you were born, you needed help to eat food; they would feed you but now, you can do it on your own.

“There is a time to plant and a time to pull up plants.”

Imagine you’re a farmer and you have planted your seed, will you see it grow immediately?

No way, there’s a time for it to germinate then push through the soil, in the same way, our parents every day are planting seeds of obedience, seeds of love, seeds of generosity in us and sometimes they come with tears because King Solomon continues to say in verse 4 that, “there is a time to cry.

There are times when you get a good spanking on your bum bum, and you cry. And there is a time to laugh.

There is a time to be sad and a time to dance. There is a time to hug and a time not to hug.

Who knew that there would be a time when hugging in the whole world would not be allowed? I wonder, did King Solomon know that we would experience COVID-19.

"There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.”

We experience it every day in school, when the teachers tell you to keep quiet in class, but when it’s break time, what do you do?

There’s always a time for everything and I want you to be the Best You in the things that God has purposed for you.

You love football, be the best footballer God has made you to be.

But will you play football all the time? No, you can be the Best You on the field but there will also be times when you will have to sleep or to eat or play with your friends or even go to church.

You have been given the responsibility to take care of your room, let that room be the best it can be because you are in it.

The things that King Solomon mentioned will happen in your life, be the Best You.

He also talks about love, and we have seen that God did His very best to show us love when He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO RECEIVE THIS LOVE. I would like to give you an opportunity to do the very best thing and receive this gift of Jesus.

We all need Jesus in our lives and when you give your life to Jesus, He gives you the Holy Spirit who will help you Be The Best You.

And when you discover your purpose in life, be the best at it.

Colossians 3:23 reminds us that, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”

God gave me a purpose and that is to teach, and I strive to be the best teacher, I work at it with all my heart.

Lead the children in a word of prayer those who would like to give their lives to Jesus. Let’s also ask God to help us Be The Best.
