ROYAL NAVY 2003-2016

Dental Hygienist 2011 – Present

Provide quality periodontal care to patients, following the GDC scope of practice and guidelines set by the British Society of Periodontology and maintaining the surgery to an excellent standard of Cross Infection Control. Extra responsibilities include Radiation Protection Supervisor, Oral Health Fund Manager and Adventure Training Representative.

Manage three clinical diaries in different locations around the southwest, liaising with the practice managers and dentists to ensure the best patient care is undertaken during short visits.

Working in both large and small practices, treating superiors and subordinates in a professional, diligent and friendly manner.

Deploy onto numerous ships at short notice as part of a small dental team, showing complete flexibility and adaptability while working in unfamiliar surroundings.

Organise Health Fairs and Oral Health promotional days/months within three different practices, optimising on good time management, all the while liaising with different departments within the military and external sources to ensure these promotional days run smoothly.

personnel completing all admin orders in a timely and efficient manner.

Leisure Interests

A keen runner, representing the Royal Navy in the annual cross county championship and completing five half marathons, a "Hell Down South" and a 20 mile/200 obstacle challenge all for Macmillan Cancer Research, helping raise over £3000.

Travel, most weekends or holidays are spent travelling the country and further afield. On completing my service within the Royal Navy I took 7 months out to travel the world, visiting places such as America, South Africa and New Zealand

In my spare time I volunteer at the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and have completed numerous courses to enable me to do this to the best of my ability.
