Sorcerers draw upon their imagination, inner will and channel their latent energy into magic. Known as the Will and the Word, it is an art both exceedingly rare and yet equally renown in myth and history in the Kingdoms of the West. The most (in)famous in legend are the disciples of the gods - particularly Aldur and Torak respectively. Belgarath the Sorcerer is known affectionately as 'the Eternal Man' to the Alorns just as Ctuchik is feared by the Angaraks as the High Priest of the Dragon God..

Role: Sorcerers can do what no other man can - they can bend the reality around them to suit their needs, fly on command or beguile even the strongest minded. The role of the sorcerer is whatever he chooses it to be - be it humble guide, fierce protector or dreaded lord mastering over his peers by right of power. Alignment: AnyHit Die: d8.

The Sorcerer class skills are Bluff (Cha), Craft (Any)(Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Knowledge (Nature)(Int), Knowledge (Religion)(Int), Linguistics (Int), Perception (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis) and Spellcraft (Int).Skill Ranks at Each Level: 6 + Int modifier.

Class Features

The following are class features of the sorcerer prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A sorcerer gains no proficiency with any weapon or armor.

The Will and the Word: Sorcerers are defined by the art of the Will and the Word and can cast spells. Each time this special ability is listed, the Sorcerer can select three Effect Words to utilize. The sorcerer is not restricted in what meta and target words are used in his spell casting.

Ageless Grace (Su): Sorcerers are by the grace of the gods immortal or blessed with longevity. Whether truly immortal or simply long lived (and measured in millennium), the character is effectively immune to the ravages of aging. The character is immune to any spell or spell like ability that effects his age.

Unbound: The Sorcerer no longer must abide by an Effect Words target restriction - rendering many Effect Words to be utilized in more imaginative - and effective ways.

Sorcerous Synergy: Imagination is a vital quality for a sorcerer. Tempered with knowledge, his ability for the Will and the Word becomes stronger as his understanding of the world around him grows. Each time this special ability is received, the Sorcerer may benefit from three skill synergies listed on the table below to his pre-existent repertoire of Effect Words.

Skill Synergies allow a Sorcerer to add the relevant number of ranks in the listed skill towards his Fortitude save to resist spell drain.
