Required Homework & Assignments

If an assignment is late, students will complete a Blue Slip to submit in place of the assignment. If a student does not have their work, ready to turn in, at the start of class on the due date, then he or she will complete a Blue Slip explaining why he or she does not have the assignment and acknowledges the assignment is late.

Required Homework & Assignments Cont’d.

I enter zeros, as a result of late work, into On Course along with a comment explaining why your child said they did not have the assignment. This is to notify you and your child that the assignment was not turned in and show the grade your child will earn if the assignment is not turned in late.

Page 4: Bell Ringer

Late Work

Students will be penalized ten percentage points for every day the assignment is turned in late. In other words, the highest grade a student may earn after one day late is 90 percent, two days late is 80 percent, three days late is 70 percent, etc. Therefore, after 10 days late work will not be accepted for a particular assignment. This operates on the A Day/B Day schedule, so students have 10 A or B days, 20 overall days before the zero is final.
