• Wayne State University group members have experience on BaBar, CLEO, and Belle.

• Our physics interests include measuring P and CP violation in B meson and bottomonium decays, and rare charm decays.

• We have been heavily involved with the commissioning detector (BEAST II) during Phases I and II; this will continue into Phase III.

• Our particular involvement has been with the PIN diodes and Large Angle Beamstrahlung Monitor (LABM).

• In addition to DOE funding we have funding from US-Japan funds and from Wayne State University.

• BEAST II LABM and PIN diodes.– LABM used to directly monitor beam parameters and

determine position of interaction point. – Deployed in Phases I and II; will be deployed during Phase

III with new (upgraded) mirrors. Paper on Phase I results submitted to NIM.

– PIN diodes used to monitor the ionising radiation dose around the beampipe and near the TPCs (Phase I), and around the QCSS final focus magnets (Phases II-III).

– Phase I results published in Beast II Phase I paper (See Sven Vahsen's talk). Diodes redesigned for Phase II. Following Phase II, will be used for QCSS warning system for Phase III.

– As commissioning era of Phase III draws to a close, we plan to transition to computing activities, or FELIX DAQ upgrade or similar activities depending on future postdoc hire.
