1. Provide broad and systematic overview of the American common-law system, especially key doctrinal principles, case law interpretation and analytical methods

2. Qualify and prepare eligible participants for international Bar examinations in New York and California jurisdictions through 20.0 unit study program

3. Create social and professional networking opportunities through globally diverse constituents and weekly interactions with Bay Area lawyers, firms, judges and multi-national companies.

1. Basic foundational courses in American Law: Contracts, Torts, Property Law, Corporations, Civil Procedure/Evidence, Legal Writing Skills, Wills & Trusts taught by Berkeley Law faculty on-site in Berkeley, California

2. Specialized courses in Mergers & Acquisitions, Antitrust & Intellectual Property by reknown U.S. expert practitioners

3. Accelerated 14-week training format, with 4.5 hours of daily coursework, equivalent in substance to LL.M. degree program, but non-degree Certificate

CALIFORNIA BAR REQUIREMENTS

No LL.B. degree required

Licensed in non-U.S. jurisdiction

Formal U.S. law study encouraged, but not required

NEW YORK BAR REQUIREMENTS

Undergraduate law degree with 75 weeks-1120 hours campus study

National Bar Examination passage highly preferred

20.0 unit credits of study at ABA-accredited law school

46% vs. 20% pass rate among foreign applicants
