Het hout is namelijk door het proces als het ware enkele honderden jaren verouderd en daardoor volkomen acceptabel. Stel dat een te kiezen gevelbekleding moet voldoen aan de volgende eisen: snel te monteren, prima kwaliteit, hoge duurzaamheid, uitstraling van hout. In al deze gevallen is ModiWood, gevelbe- kleding van gemodificeerd hout, een uitstekende keus. Bij de vervaardiging van ModiWood worden uitsluitend water en warmte gebruikt (dus totaal géén chemica- liën). Dit levert een houtproduct met duurzaamheidsklasse I/II op. Bovendien wordt voor ModiWood vuren gebruikt dat alleen komt uit PEFC-gecertificeerde bossen. ModiWood Colour ModiWood is nu, naast de onbe- handelde ‘basisversie’, ook verkrijg- baar in kleur: ModiWood Colour. De verf wordt in de fabriek onder gecontroleerde omstandigheden opgebracht, wat een kwaliteit oplevert die op de bouwplaats niet of veel minder snel wordt bereikt. Een schilder komt er niet aan te pas. De stan- daard verkrijgbare kleuren zijn wit (RAL9001), zwart (RAL9005), oxyderood (RAL3009) en groen (RAL6009). Schroeven, nagels en retoucheverf zijn ook in kleur leverbaar. Verschillende typen ModiWood Colour is op bestelling leverbaar in Zweeds rabat 9/20 x 142 mm en Fins rabat 18 x 142 mm. De werkende breedte is 130 mm + 2 mm. Het Zweeds rabat is geschikt voor horizontale en diagonale verwerking en het Fins rabat wordt vooral verticaal toegepast (let hier- bij wel op de meest voorkomende windrichting). De tienjarige garantie is van kracht mits ModiWood technisch juist en met de juiste accessoires is ver- werkt. Het hout is beschermd met een dekkend, niet-filmvormend verf- systeem dat alzijdig is aangebracht. Wordt ModiWood onbehandeld toegepast, dan zal het licht gaan vergrijzen.
