    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Business Standard has been recognising performance in the corporate world through the BusinessStandard Awards. To recognise young talent, we had instituted an award for B-School students, wherestudents are evaluated on the projects that they submit as part of their curriculum. Conducted on anational scale, it has seen fierce competition come in from the best of b-schools in the country.

    This year, the competition will be tougher with a first round shortlist by a panel and a final round wherestudents are required to make a presentation on the project. The presentations will be made before anaugust gathering which will include students, academicians and the corporate world.

    The following are the rules, criteria for participation and evaluation and key timelines.

    Eligibility Criteria1. Open to students of MBA/PGDM or equivalent in all AICTE/NAAC/UGC affiliated Business Schools inIndia.2. Projects must be part of the curriculum and academic evaluation process.3. All projects that are entered should have been done in the current academic year.4. All projects that are entered should be original works of the students of the institute.5. Only one nomination will be accepted from each B-School.6. Direct nomination from students will not be accepted.7. The nomination must be sent in the prescribed format by the B-School.

    8. Executive summary (1500 words max.) to accompany the project both in a printed form andas a soft copy.

    9. One printed copy of the project report along with a soft copy (CDs of the project report)to be sent along with the nomination.10. The decision of the panel of judges will be final.

    11.The last date for receiving nominations is December 6, 2010. Entries received after this date willNOT be entered into the competition.

    Project Award Process1. All entries along with duly filled nomination forms signed by the Institute and received before thedeadline, will be entered into the competition.

    2. Entries will be shortlisted based on predefined criteria mentioned below.3. Shortlisted entries will be invited to make a presentation to a jury and a large audience.4. Project work and presentation skills will be used to arrive at the winner.

    Evaluation CriteriaBroadly, but not limited to, the following will be the criteria for evaluation. If the jury so decides, otherparameters will be included and existing ones modified. Jury decision will be binding.

    1. Understanding of the subject2. Originality of the subject.3. Quality of research and findings.4. Analysis of the research.5. Adaptability to the real world scenario.

    6. Quality of recommendations and their effect on business.7. Overall presentation.

    General Rules1. The entire exercise is aimed at recognizing talent that exists amidst future managers. It would bebest if the institutes enter the best project work done by their students.2. Business Standards employees & their relatives, employees of its advertising agencies oremployees of sponsors will not be eligible to participate.3. Projects received as part of the competition will not be returned to the student / institutes4. Key timelines

    8. Specific dates will be announced closer the event.9. Shortlisted students will have to come to Mumbai to make a presentation. Boarding and lodgingexpenses will have to be borne by the students and Business Standard will not bear the expensesincurred.
