MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: EWGA EASTERN SHORE CHAPTER

One of the gems in our beautiful area is the Eastern Shore Chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA), which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Founded in 1991, EWGA is the largest women-focused national amateur golf association in the United States with chapters located in more than 100 cities as well as international chapters in Bermuda, Canada and Italy. According to Director of Marketing Judy Kight, the Eastern Shore Chapter “has it all. Offering leagues at all ability levels, golf clinics, tournaments, mentoring programs and social gatherings year round (many of which are co-ed), and more; there is something for everyone.” Kight feels joining the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce a little over a year ago has been very beneficial in terms of meeting potential new members and sponsors at the various networking events. She gives a lot of credit for the Chapter’s success to its president, and Chapter founder, Nancy Dofflemyer, who recently received the EWGA’s prestigious Nancy Oliver Founder’s Award, the organization’s highest honor for its volunteers. The Chapter’s 20th anniversary is being celebrated by a special event each month of the year, culminating with a gala at Lighthouse Sound in September. Kight shares “the friendships made and activities offered throughout the year make the EWGA Eastern Shore Chapter a wonderful organization.” Whether you are a self-proclaimed hacker, an accomplished golfer, or somewhere in between, the EWGA Eastern Shore Chapter has something “fore” you!
