Heavy-Duty Features And BenefitsBetter. Where It Counts.n Continuous Improvement – In 2013 we have

refined our technology and our complete on-highway line-up, including the Heavy-Duty ISX15 and ISX12. Our 2013 engines meet 2014 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and United States Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for fuel economy and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction, a year ahead of schedule. Our Cummins 2013 engines are also equipped with the required On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) system that monitors and ensures optimal performance of the emissions system. If the system detects any emissions related malfunctions, it will alert the operator to these detected malfunctions through a dash lamp known as the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL).

n Better Fuel Economy – Cummins has taken our industry-leading fuel economy and improved it by up to 2% in 2013, versus 2010 engines, by reducing parasitic losses, optimizing combustion, improving component efficiencies and needing fewer active aftertreatment regenerations. Better fuel economy means lower operating cost and maximized profits.

n Better Reliability And Durability – Cummins designs, develops and supports every critical component from air handling to exhaust aftertreatment as a totally integrated system. Only Cummins has the ability to optimize every function better than any other engine manufacturer.

n Better Customer Care – Cummins-powered vehicles are backed by the largest and most capable parts and service network in North America, with over 3,500 locations. Call Cummins Care at 1-800-DIESELS™ (1-800-343-7357), and you will get 24/7/365 assistance from a Cummins Care representative. Driver Satisfaction And Ratingsn Power and Performance – The ISX15 delivers the

features that drivers want and need – 600-bhp Intebrake™ system, Load-Based Speed Control (LBSC) and Gear-Down Protection (GDP).

n Compact Design – Cummins ISX12 is making a huge impact in work trucks of all types, from mixers and dump trucks to day cabs and less-than-truckload (LTL) operations. It combines the strength and reliability of proven technology from the ISX15 – the industry’s most popular heavy-duty diesel – with a high power-to-weight ratio and over 800 lb-ft (1085 N•m) clutch engagement torque.

n ISX15 Ratings – SmartTorque ratings continue to be offered, adding up to 200 lb-ft of extra torque in the top two gears so drivers can maintain road speed going up steep grades with fewer downshifts and better fuel economy. Plus, vocational ratings are available, delivering extra torque in lower gears for dump trucks, mixers and refuse vehicles.

n ISX12 Ratings – The ISX12 is ideal in operations calling for a compact heavy-duty engine. The ISX12 Vocational ratings are engineered to provide additional torque in the lower gear ranges, where it’s needed most. We offer multiple options, including both Front- and Rear Engine Power Take-Off (FEPTO and REPTO) units and a selection of hydraulic drive options. This versatility makes the ISX12 an ideal choice for rear- and front-pouring mixers as well as dump trucks and refuse haulers. We also offer standard ratings, with engine software configurations designed to deliver the precise combination of fuel economy and performance to meet the needs of regional and LTL fleets.

Maintenancen Maintenance Intervals – We have increased our

maintenance intervals for both fuel and oil. Oil-change intervals for the 2013 ISX15 and ISX12 can be extended by 5,000 miles (8,000 km) with the use of Valvoline™ Premium Blue® oil in normal-duty and light-duty cycle operation, helping to maximize uptime while reducing maintenance costs.

SmartTorque Putting Technology In High GearSmartTorque technology is a torque enhancement system that gives fleets and owner/operators massive hill-pulling torque. And, at the same time, delivers up to 3% savings on fuel costs. Here’s how it works:

The electronic control module monitors engine speed, load and gear position. When the driver shifts into the top two gears, SmartTorque automatically “kicks it up”, unleashing as much as 200 extra lb-ft of torque.

Though SmartTorque increases power significantly, that’s not a consideration when spec’ing the transmission. For example, if SmartTorque boosts engine torque to 1850 lb-ft, the transmission can be spec’d for a lower torque rating. Saving both the weight and expense of a beefier transmission. Yet with SmartTorque’s extra power, drivers get up steeper hills with fewer downshifts, saving fuel, decreasing trip times and reducing driver fatigue. So destinations are reached more economically, faster and safer.

9

Load-Based Speed ControlCummins Load-Based Speed Control (LBSC) is a patented electronic feature on ISX15 and ISX12 engines that helps drivers achieve higher fuel economy without compromising performance.

This Cummins exclusive feature automatically adjusts the engine operating range to match the load on board and the route.

It optimizes engine rpm during normal driving conditions by governing the engine speed to encourage shifting in the most fuel-efficient ranges. At the same time, it continuously monitors vehicle operating conditions and allows access to an extended engine operating range every time it senses the need. For example:

n On a grade exceeding 2%n During sharp turns when tire scrub may occurn When carrying a load in excess of 80,000 lb

LBSC also does not limit engine speed during gear changes or when operating in the top two gears.

Load-Based Speed Control lowers the average engine revs/mile (kilometer). This has many benefits:

n Improved fuel economyn Reduced parasitic losses due to cycling of

engine accessories (such as the fan)n Lower engine noise in parking lots and

residential areasn Improved engine durability

Cummins Westport Inc.The Natural ChoiceCummins Westport Inc. is a 50/50 joint venture between Cummins Inc. and Westport Innovations, created to develop, manufacture and market low-emissions high-performance alternative fuel engines worldwide. The vision of Cummins Westport Inc. is to be the world’s leading provider of clean gaseous-fueled engines that deliver an economic solution to bus and truck customers.

Cummins Westport natural gas engines are manufactured by Cummins and sold and serviced by the global Cummins network with Cummins Parts and Service and Warranty support. Optional extended warranty plans are also available. The ISL G and ISX12 G share major engine components with their diesel counterparts, ensuring parts durability and availability.

The ISL G and ISX12 G operate on 100% clean burning natural gas, which can be carried on the vehicle in either compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) form. They can also operate on renewable natural gas or biomethane that meets fuel quality specifications. Both engines meet current U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and California Air Resource Board (ARB) emission standards and 2014 EPA and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) regulations.

The use of stoichiometric combustion technology and a Three-Way Catalyst exhaust aftertreatment creates low emissions without the need for Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems.

The ISX12 G and ISL G are available from leading truck, urban transit, and school bus OEMs in a variety of applications.

34

Natural Gas Features And Benefitsn Lower Operating Costs – In high fuel use

applications, the combination of lower alternative fuel costs, improved fuel economy and lower incremental maintenance costs make it possible to save valuable dollars with a natural gas-powered fleet.

n Performance – The high torque and broad power band of the ISL G, with ratings from 250-320 hp provide excellent performance when matched to various automatic transmissions in vocational, medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks up to 66,000 lb GVW, as well as urban transit, shuttle and school bus applications. The ISX12 G, with ratings from 320-400 hp, is designed for a wide variety of vehicles, including regional-haul trucks/tractors up to 80,000 lb GVW, vocational trucks and refuse applications. The ISX12 G will offer optional engine braking, plus automatic and manual transmission options.

n Maintenance-Free Aftertreatment – Stoichiometric combustion with cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) provides the ideal combustion process in which fuel and oxygen are completely consumed, leaving no unburned fuel or oxygen in the exhaust stream. This advanced combustion technology enables the use of a Three-Way Catalyst (TWC), which is a passive device packaged as a muffler that is maintenance free. It does not require a particulate filter or Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system using Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF).

n Cooled Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Combustion Technology – Takes a measured quantity of exhaust gas and passes it through a cooler to reduce the temperature before mixing it with fuel and the incoming air charge to the cylinder. The use of cooled EGR in combination with stoichiometric combustion improves power density and fuel economy versus lean-burn or traditional stoichiometric natural gas engines.

35

n Electronic Control Module - The ECM constantly monitors and controls the engine actuators, sensors, fuel system and ignition system. It provides OEM and end users with the ability to tailor performance of the engine to fit the vehicle mission. It also has full interface capability to Cummins INSITE™ and QuickCheck diagnostic service tools. For additional information, visit cumminswestport.com.

Expert Diagnostic System (EDS)An innovative engine diagnostic tool, Expert Diagnostic System (EDS) uses historical trends and advises in the simplest terms the most likely steps needed to resolve engine problems. This helps the technician get to the problem quickly, reducing vehicle downtime and saving money for everyone. When entering required data and answering some questions, EDS will recommend to the technician the most likely solution for the repair. EDS is the “Next Generation” troubleshooting system that continually learns from any repair made. Each service event will be tracked using a Diagnostic Session Identification (DSID) which will then record all service history for a given Cummins Engine Serial Number (ESN). Warranty administrators will also benefit from this tool since EDS is designed to simplify the warranty claim process. You can upload the diagnostic Standard Repair Times (SRTs) to RAPIDSERVE Web by entering the DSID into the first page of the RAPIDSERVE Web Claim.

EDS is a web-based system and can be found at insite.cummins.com under “Related Tools”. Training courses cover a variety of roles so it will help guide everyone to mastering the full benefits of this great tool. The EDS user guide, FAQs and other related information can be found on the EDS page.

For more information, visit insite.cummins.com/insite/eds/, contact your local Cummins distributor or call us toll-free at 1-800-DIESELS™ (1-800-343-7357).

CUMPASCummins provides CUMPAS (Cummins Parts and Service) to parts dealers in North America. This electronic tool enhances a dealer’s ability to work with the Cummins distributor network.

Using the Internet, CUMPAS links the dealer to the Cummins distributor responsible for the territory where the dealer is located. CUMPAS saves time and greatly reduces the need for the dealer to call or fax the distributor. All the dealer needs is a computer and access to the Internet.

Cummins dealers benefit by using CUMPAS to tie electronically into the distributor’s Business Management System. The dealer can inquire about part pricing, availability, supercession, order status, invoice detail and back orders. CUMPAS facilitates stock orders as well as branch, emergency and warranty orders. It also enables order downloading from the dealer’s own business system. In addition to Parts Ordering and its many features, CUMPAS provides Core Processing and Management Reports, including the latest, Price File Extract. The CUMPAS link to QuickServe® Online makes it easy to look up part numbers in an online catalog and transfer them to CUMPAS via an electronic shopping cart.

To sign up for CUMPAS, dealers simply need to contact their Cummins distributor and request access. The distributor provides the registration and authentication, as well as account information for online access. CUMPAS provides training tutorials online as well, so dealer personnel receive training at their convenience and do not have to take time to attend a course at the distributorship.

Cummins Virtual CollegeCummins Virtual College is an interactive multimedia self-study learning system that is available on CD or online. The training is targeted to technicians but other learning “paths” are available for parts personnel on Cummins latest products.

This training program reduces training cost by:

n Minimizing the time away from revenue-producing work

n Allowing multiple personnel to be trained on one investment

n Reducing overnight lodging costs associated with classroom training

When used as a prerequisite, Cummins Virtual College programs can also improve the level of knowledge obtained during classroom or hands-on training sessions.

Cummins Virtual College also increases learning effectiveness through consistent delivery of material, availability without the need for Internet connectivity, self-paced study to allow for different rates of learning, and course completion recording to reduce redundancy on future training programs. Training can be delivered concurrently with the arrival of new products, and a review feature allows personnel to refresh their knowledge as needed. This interactive course contains high-quality video and animation, so it is highly effective at reaching visual as well as book learners.

A hotline is available if questions arise regarding course content or how to use the program. Hands-on classroom training for the latest products is also available at most Cummins distributors.

For additional information, visit quickserve.cummins.com or contact your local Cummins distributor training center.

Vehicle Mission Simulation™ (VMS)Vehicle Mission Simulation (VMS) is a program developed by Cummins that evaluates the performance of various engines and power train configurations. VMS is ideally suited for comparing different vehicle specifications for new equipment and predicting performance for those specifications so the customer can make the best decision for their new equipment.

The program features the prediction of steady-state performance and route simulation capability, including starts, stops, gear changes, observance of speed limits, ascending and descending grades, braking and idling.

While the program has been designed to reflect an accurate representation of the vehicle being configured, it does not represent a guarantee of actual performance, as conditions may vary.

Contact your local Cummins distributor if you need a detailed analysis performed with VMS.
