About Bhagavad Gita

Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is purely a spiritual document that encompassed everything relating to human beings and life on mother earth. In nutshell... it was following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita Hinduism... human gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime. Belief or no belief... no human being on mother earth could gain enlightenment in present life in absence of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is the foremost of all spiritual texts available on mother earth... the one and only one of its kind in the spiritual world.

Amongst large paraphernalia of sacred holy spiritual texts available in Hinduism... teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita sufficed for humanity to reach stage of enlightenment... stage of self realization... God realization in present life! As ordained by God Almighty... stage of enlightenment by human beings was not that easily reached. Human beings required maximum cosmic sojourn of 1.1 million manifestations for reaching stage of enlightenment... self realization... God realization that entailed an earthly travel of 12.4 million years... not a small journey indeed! Travelers of religious path... followers of rituals who thought otherwise were ignorant in matters spiritual. Such human beings never reached stage of enlightenment in their present lifetime.  One single sacred scripture... Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... that was available for mere $.60 (Rs. 30/=) directly from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India had no parallel in mankind. This highly subsidized publication available to mankind at large is difficult to decipher as spiritual terminology demands reading in between the lines. The gist of Bhagavad Gita could never be understood literally. One must learn to read in between the lines, only then inner meaning of various sacred scriptural terms unveiled before one. I receive many queries from people world over that they had read Bhagavad Gita several times yet, inner meaning of spiritual terms evaded their understanding.  Spiritual text of Bhagavad Gita was not meant for travellers of religious path... followers of rituals! Those who were not truthful in life to the core... must ever deliberate on Bhagavad Gita ever! No matter how best they tried... sacred teachings of Bhagavad Gita always eluded them. Gems of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita can only be understood by remaining truthful... always and ever. Not a single lapse on path of absolute truthfulness is permitted. Following path of absolute truthfulness is practising celibacy at its level best. 12 years practice of absolute celibacy finally led human beings in gaining enlightenment... self realization... God realization forever!  For an ordinary mortal... a commoner... one from masses... wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita played pivotal role in gaining absolute success in life. Following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita... any human being world over could reach any bracket of life... even a laborer becoming a king! This is not merely a saying or a rhetoric statement but truthfully following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita human beings finally gained everlasting success and happiness forever. The wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita was not meant for spiritual travellers alone. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita belonged to masses who desired absolute success in life.  Traveling spiritual path as dictated by Bhagavad Gita initially seemed very difficult but for human beings who possessed a fixed goal in life... assimilating teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita was not that difficult. Even Bhagavad Gita states that forming a goal early in life is very important. In absence of goal... life was like a rudderless boat going round and round in the ocean. One needs to concentrate all energies behind a particular goal. It is through practice of absolute celibacy human beings finally succeeded in transmuting sexual energy towards their only goal of life. Practice of absolute celibacy... indulging in nishkama karma was a necessity of spiritual path.  Bhagavad Gita consists of 700 shlokas verses in total. These 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita formed epitome of spirituality... also termed bible of Hinduism by many. We as human beings had not much say in matters spiritual. Why? As per Bhagavad Gita... we are primarily a spirit... a soul atman... cosmic consciousness that manifested human form... to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within! Moment karma within human beings negated to zero... one finally reached stage of enlightenment... becoming an enlightened one ... a bodhi... a Jina... a Mahavira forever. In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.

Page 2: Bhagabat Geeta

To understand precepts of spirituality... indulging in sacred spiritual texts of Hinduism was mandated by God Almighty. In the Western world... apart from Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed none reached stage of enlightenment ever. Comparatively in India... hundreds if not thousands reached stage of enlightenment in their lifetime! India is the permanent domain of spirituality on mother earth. In absence of heart, human body carried no meaning. Similarly in absence of India world cultures carried no meaning. Stated in simpler words the world could not survive rigors of day-to-day life in absence of spiritual India... home to Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... foremost of all sacred scriptures existing world over.  The teachings of Bhagavad Gita can be utilized by two distinct sects of people... spiritual and entrepreneurs! Those with a spiritual inclination can use teachings of Bhagavad Gita to reach end stage of cosmic life... 8.4 millionth manifestation... when human beings gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation moksha. Entrepreneurs... those seeking absolute success in life can greatly benefit from teachings of Bhagavad Gita. By transmuting sexual energy... these so-called entrepreneurs can reach any stage of life... manifesting destiny forever!  Inner truths of life that lay hidden from mankind can only be reached through Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! For reaching our soul atman, the spirit within... pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita were necessitated. No spiritual journey can be completed in absence of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita had universal appeal. Any human being world over... belonging to any religion, faith or belief can ceremoniously follow teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. For reading Bhagavad Gita... one need not convert to Hinduism ever. Even while following ones religion... one could know all about Bhagavad Gita.  For understanding gist of Bhagavad Gita... the most important ingredient on path of pure spirituality was path of absolute truthfulness. Unless we were truthful in life... unless we indulged in niceties every second of life... we would not be successful in traveling spiritual path. It is only by remaining truthful... one could hear the sweet small inner voice of their soul atman that seemed to come from within our heart. The voice of our soul atman... the spirit within always prompted us on the right path. Guided by the voice of my soul atman every second of life... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age! This is my last manifestation on mother earth.  The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita was given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata between Pandava and Kaurava Kings. Bhagavad Gita is all about Dharma... re-establishment of Dharma (righteousness) against all evil forces of adharma (lawlessness)! When Lord Krishna realized that war with Kaurava Kings     could not be won remaining truthful all the time... he gave sermon of Bhagavad Gita to Pandava King Arjuna to win the battle as it was a fight between good and evil. No matter what the reason... Lord Krishna admonished Arjuna not to behave like a coward and fight like a king who had interest of his countrymen before self.  It was absolute faith of Pandava King Arjuna in the teachings of Lord Krishna that he finally won battle of Mahabharata above 3600 years before now. The messages of dharma, messages of love and godly forces are apparent and absolutely clear in teachings of Bhagavad Gita. The sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is not merely a spiritual precept. It truly contained everything that a worldly human being needed to know in one's entire lifetime. For a commoner... one from masses Bhagavad Gita contained everything related to gaining absolute success in life but for a seeker of spirituality... Bhagavad Gita meant reaching stage of enlightenment in ones lifetime.

Bhagavad Gita Summary: List of related Adhyay Chapters ...

Geeta Chapter 1

The entire gist of Bhagavad Gita can be stated to be an allegory to explain fundamental, inherent explicit hidden truths of life! The fight between Pandavas and Kauravas demonstrates the ever going fight between positive and dark forces of nature.

Geeta Chapter 2 Verse 49 - 72

Page 3: Bhagabat Geeta

For a Brahma jnani, kaivalya jnani... essence of life always laid in indulgence in good karma, positive karma all the time! No matter what the earthly indulgence of a kaivalya jnani, Brahma jnani... one finally reached kingdom of God at the end of journey.

Geeta Chapter 3

Bhagavad Gita chapter 3 verse 1 proves beyond doubt absolute faith Arjuna expressed in capability of Lord Krishna. Although Arjuna knew clearly well that path of jnana yoga was superior to path of karma yoga still, he expressed his doubts to hear what Lord Krishna had to say in the matter.

Geeta Chapter 4

After vital teachings of jnana yoga became available to Manu... he further passed it to his son King Ikshvaku, first scion of solar dynasty. King Ikshvaku was the first who initiated godly knowledge to entire mankind. Maryada Purushottam Rama, a scion of solar dynasty... came much later.

Geeta Chapter 5

Confused over various aspects of karma, Arjuna asks Lord Krishna thus: you advise practice of karma sanyasa (renunciation from act of karma) and you also advise path of indulgence in karma yoga. According to you O Lord Krishna, both paths of karma led to God Almighty.

Geeta Chapter 6

A true sanyasi (renunciate) always indulged in requisite karma necessitated to reach God! Lord Krishna repeatedly tells Arjuna that there was never a shortcut path to God Almighty.

Geeta Chapter 10

Through Gita chapter 10 Verse 2 Lord Krishna also confirms that unless God Almighty created present cosmos... nothing would exist in cosmos. This also proved beyond doubt existence of God Almighty in cosmic system.

Geeta Chapter 11

In this verse 11.1 of Bhagavad Gita, value of absolute faith in our spiritual guide is explicitly made clear. Most travellers of spirituality always carried many doubts in their subconscious.

Geeta Chapter 12

In Bhagavad Gita chapter 12 verse 1, the definition of God, entity of God was made explicitly clear. God Almighty always was indestructible (could neither be created nor destroyed), was an apostle of truth and only truth and was termed Brahman in Hinduism.

Geeta Chapter 13

How can Lord Krishna say, God Almighty was the only truth of life! As proved by Adi Shankaracharya in his famous doctrine of Maya (veil of illusion)... other than God Almighty nothing exists in cosmos.

Geeta Chapter 14

Maharishi Ramana was one of the saints of present era who reached God in his lifetime! Path of jnana yoga, path of contemplation, path of self introspection was a vital aspect of spiritual

life. Unless human beings realized what path of jnana yoga was all about... one could never reach God in one's lifetime!

Bhagavad Gita and its relation to Human Life

The concept of Bhagavad Gita in Hinduism is multifaceted. As many human beings... as many different inferences one can draw from each shloka (verse) of Bhagavad Gita! In life of human beings... teachings of Bhagavad Gita were nothing less than pure elixir... something that gave meaning to life. We come unto this earth not of our own free will... we just get born. All is based on karma performed in previous manifestations. Based on residual balance of karma of last life... our soul atman... the spirit within manifested present life form!   In the cosmic domain... nothing can err. If Stephen Hawking, the famous physicist in his famous book, "a brief history of time" states that system of God is disordered at some stage... he is not only mistaken but an absolute ignorant in matters spiritual. It is beyond competence of scientists’ world over to understand precepts of spirituality. Spirituality starts from the point where science ends. The domain of God can never be understood by demanding proofs that form essential part of science. In absence of proofs... science carried no meaning. But in domain of God almighty... it was absolute faith in God Almighty that ruled the roost.  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism explicitly states that God Almighty in present life can only be reached by having absolute faith in God Almighty. None can see or feel God... but we still believed in God based on inherent explicit faith in God Almighty. It is through path of absolute faith in God Almighty from beginning of life that I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age. Realizing God... reaching God is the absolute crux of life... the ultimate goal of life for all human beings on mother earth. We may or may not prefer to travel spiritual journey in present life... but our ultimate goal of life always remains fixed... reaching God at the earliest!  It is through path of Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... human beings finally succeeded in reaching God. Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed... all reached stage of enlightenment via path of Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana also succeeded in reaching God in their lifetime. Reaching God... realizing God simply meant our soul atman... the spirit within gaining absolute purity.   This also announced end of cosmic journey for a soul atman. One finally reached 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle! After reaching stage of enlightenment... the liberated soul atman finally entered kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism). From first step to reaching stage of enlightenment... all details in respect of path of spirituality are detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. Any human being world over... belonging to any religion, faith or belief can follow teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita without changing their religion.  In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  Teachings of Bhagavad Gita directly relate to path of spirituality... never path of religion... rituals! Unless our goal of life was reaching God in present life... indulgence in Bhagavad Gita was not necessitated. However, for gaining absolute success in life as a physical manifest being... practice of absolute celibacy as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was necessitated. By practising celibacy as it was meant to be... any human being world over can reach any bracket of life... from the stage of laborer to a king. Path of spirituality is traveling path of jnana (pure wisdom) knowing which human beings finally realized their true inner self... became a free soul forever.  Bhagavad Gita relates to human beings in more than one way. Apart from wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita knowing which human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment, Bhagavad Gita also contained inner truths of life... knowing which human beings finally manifest destiny... became absolute master and controller of life forever. Manifesting destiny was not that easy but unveiling

Page 5: Bhagabat Geeta

hidden sacred precepts of life contained in Bhagavad Gita... human beings finally reached source of cosmic life from stage of big bang to dissolution of entire cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism).  I was born in Jainism religion yet, I believed more in doctrine of Bhagavad Gita given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata than Jainism scriptures. This does not mean I do not believe in Jainism scriptures but my philosophy of life always had been choosing the best from each religion. Whenever I came across a person from a different religion, belief or faith... whatever positive one had to offer... I willingly accepted it. For me... all religions are path to God Almighty. A true spiritual seeker could never distinguish between different religions of world.  It is practising discrimination at its best I finally reached stage of self realization... God realization! When young, I always searched for hidden truths of life. The moment I realized that it was power of discrimination that distinguished human beings from animals... I started using my power of discrimination with caution. I also realized human form was the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle. It was only in human form one reached god. We are truly blessed to have been born human. We truly had only one life to live... why not live it to its best potential!

Bhagavad Gita in Daily Life

The application of Bhagavad Gita in daily life is not difficult. It has only one prerequisite... become truthful as Americans are. Even though most Americans had no knowledge of Bhagavad Gita or ever heard about it... they seem to practice Bhagavad Gita in daily life as if they were trained for it. Americans usually live life on a daily basis. They live as if it was their first and last day. They enjoyed every moment of life. For them... life truly had no limitations. They were born in morning and died in evening.   Living life on day-to-day basis has its advantages. One comes to understand inherent values of life. We become part of community and community becomes part of us. We lived a whole life full of gaiety and laughter. Followers of Bhagavad Gita never had any regrets. For them... entire community belonged to God. If they worked for welfare of community... it was on behalf of God Almighty. They were rather serving God Almighty when helping their community. Lucky are people who get an opportunity to serve mankind at its level best.  People who ran after Bhagavad Gita thinking it was a literal document were absolutely wrong. Attending spiritual discourses relating to Bhagavad Gita never meant anything unless we learnt to contemplate on hidden ingredients of spiritual life... spiritual terminology! Spiritual life can only be lived by living physical manifest life to fullest. Caring only for self and hating others... how could one be spiritual? In India... most who traveled path of spirituality never came to understood anything about spiritual journey. Why?  Just by following so-called spiritual masters does not mean covering spiritual journey in right earnestness! Spiritual journey can be truly traveled when we had a spiritual master (a spiritual guru) who reached stage of enlightenment in ones lifetime like Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... those who could clarify inner meanings of spiritual terminology. Unless queries within us dissolved forever... our spiritual journey truly was meaningless! Every spiritual discourse... every spiritual meeting must satisfy us internally.  Every Satsanga (spiritual discourse) must always be an open question and answer session... wherein every single human being must be free to express ones feelings and clarify any matter... seek answer to any query whatsoever! Unless we were totally truthful in life... spirituality truly could not be lived. Most so-called spiritual masters in present times were pure religious preachers who had no inkling what spirituality really was all about. Could such religious teachers give anything to mankind in terms of spirituality?  Dispensing half baked religious theories to gullible mankind has become order of day. Blindfolded most human beings followed such preachers without thinking twice of consequences. I happened to attend some religious gatherings to forward some queries to these so-called spiritual masters.

Page 6: Bhagabat Geeta

Sensing I may cause trouble for so-called spiritual mentors... their followers made it a point that my queries did not reach one. They forbid me to ask a query citing shortage of time. Every serious seeker of spirituality must always follow inner voice that seems to come from within our heart.  If we desire reaching God in present life... if we were serious and truthful... we would definitely reach God one day. Our faith in God Almighty must always be hundred percent. A dwindling faith never achieved anything. To enact good karma... positive karma was our prerogative. By following path of absolute truthfulness... by indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time... having total faith in God Almighty... any human being world over could easily reach God. Reaching God in present Kali Yuga, materialistic age was difficult... but not impossible!  Those who cited instances from scriptures that God Almighty could never be reached in Kali Yuga were ignorants of religious path... who had nothing in common with spirituality! For serious seekers of spirituality... such followers of religious path never meant anything. They were all the time available in hordes. Such people believed more in rituals than path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) as it was beyond them to contemplate on matters spiritual! Path of spirituality always demanded absolute perfection... something uncommon to practitioners of religious path.  Spirituality is attending Satsanga (spiritual gathering) for 10% of time... rest 90% spent in contemplation! Unless we learnt to contemplate... we could never achieve anything on spiritual path. Path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) meant contemplating on God Almighty all the time. It is through path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana... human beings finally succeeded in traveling spiritual path sincerely and diligently and finally reaching God Almighty in their lifetime.  As everything related to spirituality was available in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... for reaching God; contemplating on wisdom contained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was an absolute must. We must try to follow path of life as lived by Americans. We must learn to love human beings... the community where we lived. In loving people... we were loving children of God Almighty. In serving humanity... we were truly serving God Almighty.  If there was a single word I could express for Americans... it was simply... wow!

Bhagavad Gita and concept of Soul Atman Hinduism

The concept of soul atman as detailed in Bhagavad Gita is central to Hinduism. Unless we believed in existence of souls atmans... we could never understand teachings of Bhagavad Gita. Believing in existence of souls' atmans is believing in concept of rebirth, reincarnation as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.   Bhagavad Gita simply says... entire journey of life belonged to our soul atman and never the manifest physical form of human beings. As per Bhagavad Gita form of human beings was but a temporary sojourn for souls atmans to reach cosmic end of life... 8.4 millionth manifestation when souls' atmans finally became free from bondage of life and death forever.  Having liberated forever... need for a purified soul atman to manifest another life form now ceased to exist. Until last trace of karma exists in souls atmans... until complete dross impurities within souls atmans gets removed... it keeps manifesting life forms one after another. This cosmic journey of souls' atmans finally comes to an end when human beings gained enlightenment!  Human being on mother earth reaching stage of enlightenment was no small achievement. It was mandated by God Almighty. As per Bhagavad Gita every single human being on mother earth has to undertake spiritual journey to reach stage of enlightenment (also termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). Whether we do it now or leave it for future manifestations is our prerogative!  From first manifestation to last... effort of every soul atman always remained liberation from cycle of birth and death forever at the earliest. This cosmic goal of life for every soul atman fructified when

Page 7: Bhagabat Geeta

human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). The maximum human life can evolve is reaching stage of enlightenment... also termed self realization... God realization!  The evolution of human beings finally ends with one reaching stage of enlightenment forever. In spiritual terminology it could be termed as human beings gaining immortality forever. Human form is the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle of every soul atman. It is only in human form every soul atman finally reached cosmic end of life. Out of a maximum of 8.4 million manifestations on the whole... the last 1.1 million manifestations occurred in human form.  Unless one understood teachings of Bhagavad Gita... one could never understand the underlying relationship between lower forms of life... human form... our soul atman, the spirit within and God Almighty! It is Bhagavad Gita and only Bhagavad Gita that explained to us everything relating to souls atmans and human life.  Trying to assimilate teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita meant human beings wanting to gain enlightenment and finally reaching stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness)... when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked! Enlightenment and immortality were interrelated. One could not become immortal bodily until one reached stage of enlightenment. Immortality... enlightenment simply meant our soul atman gaining absolute purity forever!  When cycle of life ceased forever... it was stated as human beings gaining immortality forever.  If souls' atmans were the only truth of life... then who are human beings? We are primarily a soul atman on its cosmic life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations. To remove dross impurities within us manifested different life forms one after another until we manifested human form. It was only in human form we as a soul atman finally succeeded in regaining our lost pure prime pristine primordial form when human beings finally gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever.  Gaining enlightenment is the ultimate crux of life for all human beings on mother earth. If Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism said so... none could dispute it... no matter what!

Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit

The language of Bhagavad Gita is Sanskrit as Hindi Lipi was non-existent at that time. Apart from Sanskrit, Pali and Prakrit languages were in vogue during that period. Prakrit was the language of Jainism scriptures... and Pali of Buddhist literature. In present times... Bhagavad Gita written in Sanskrit is difficult to understand... assimilate! For convenience of people, Gita press, Gorakhpur, India brought out many additions of Bhagavad Gita in which shlokas verses were primarily in Sanskrit along with English and Hindi transliteration.   I have many copies of number 17 of Bhagavad Gita from Gita press that comprises Bhagavad Gita shlokas verses in Sanskrit along with Hindi transliteration. I have been an ardent fan of Sanskrit since schooldays. I always scored highest numbers in Sanskrit in class so much so that I could easily converse with people in Sanskrit. Sanskrit being my love from the early years in school... for me understanding original gist of Bhagavad Gita is not very difficult.  I am presently undertaking a project of writing commentary on Bhagavad Gita for masses. This commentary on Bhagavad Gita initially would be in English but with passage of time... I shall also produce a commentary on Bhagavad Gita in Hindi. Hindi is my mother tongue... I can converse more easily in Hindi than English. There are many words in Sanskrit... the meaning of which can only be expressed in Hindi.  Many interpretations of Bhagavad Gita are available in market today, that were primarily meant for scholars. But for commoners... masses... it is extremely difficult to decipher teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita through various interpretations... commentaries available in market today. Along with the commentary I shall also be available 24 x 7 to cater to needs of society.

Page 8: Bhagabat Geeta

My commentary on Bhagavad Gita would be simple... in easy to understand English. Still, only those who were truthful in life would be able to understand... digest my commentary on Bhagavad Gita! For any clarifications, I shall always be available 24 x 7 absolutely free of all costs to mankind. Because of many queries I receive every single day... I am only able to answer few limited queries. If you have a query... make sure it is simple... clear and straightforward! Queries... answers to which already existed on my various websites are immediately archived without reply.  After going through gist of Bhagavad Gita as detailed in books from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India... I find the original doctrine of Bhagavad Gita given to mankind by Lord Krishna was totally intact. With passage of time... the original text of Bhagavad Gita had not diluted... prime reason why Hinduism is considered spiritual citadel of world. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism contains truth and only truth. Even if we had no knowledge of Sanskrit... one could easily decipher inner meanings contained in transliterated text.  Many people world over indulged in Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit. In present times this was not necessitated as books available online from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India contained original gist of Bhagavad Gita along with Hindi and English transliteration. Why spend time on learning Sanskrit when one could manage with English or Hindi transliteration. I mean transliteration... not translation! As many human beings... as many different translations of Bhagavad Gita could there be.   Instead of buying a copy of Bhagavad Gita that was interpreted... translated by someone, it is in our interest to buy the original gist of Bhagavad Gita from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India that contained Hindi or English transliteration. Most interpretations of Bhagavad Gita available world over contained impurities. Why? Unless one reached stage of enlightenment... one was not competent to write a commentary on Bhagavad Gita... so says Bhagavad Gita!  The interpretation of Bhagavad Gita by Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Ramanuja, Swami Sivananda and Mahatma Gandhi carried no meaning in present times as all these people did not gain enlightenment in their lifetime. Indulging in whimsical interpretations is losing crucial time. We had a limited time span of 70 to 80 years of life. By indulging in original gist of Bhagavad Gita from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India, one could easily understand what Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was all about.  Most human beings world over tried to follow scriptural texts the ritual way. Gist of Bhagavad Gita could never be understood that way. We had to follow path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) to understand what Bhagavad Gita was truly all about. The contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita could never be understood via path of religion... path of rituals! Bhagavad Gita primarily dealt with absolutes of life... the world of souls' atmans, the spirit within!  A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  If we were to fight our neighboring country in present times... we would definitely abandon thoughts of using bows and arrows used in times of battle of Mahabharata. With science taking dominance in present times... our weapons of today have upgraded multiple times. We are in the atomic age... we had nuclear stockpile to fight our neighbors.  The teachings of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit must be interpolated in terms of development of science in present times. We just could not play the rhetoric card... nor could we follow path of rituals to understand teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. In present times... only those succeeded in understanding Bhagavad Gita... who successfully interpolated scriptural texts in terms of science as it exists today.  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism demands analyzing every aspect of life in terms of absolute truth. It does not matter... to which religion belief or faith one belonged. What mattered most was... whether we were truthful in life always and ever. Gist of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit with English and Hindi transliteration was not difficult to understand... if we were totally truthful in life! If we had the zeal, God Almighty always prompted the correct way.  Even though I can interpret most of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit... still, I prefer the Hindi transliteration as it is my mother tongue. Having understood inner meaning of life... for me to decipher teachings

Page 9: Bhagabat Geeta

contained in Bhagavad Gita is like ABCD. I have much to give to society but I find no takers in the bargain. In my 50 years of spiritual travail... I have yet to find a person as competent as Swami Vivekananda... the famous disciple saint of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa!  Swami Vivekananda did not gain enlightenment in his lifetime as his goal of life was not gaining self realization... God realization! Had Swami Vivekananda desired gaining enlightenment in his lifetime... he could have easily done so under the able preceptorship of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa... one who realized God in his lifetime. People who were eager to reach stage of enlightenment in present life must become totally truthful before indulging in Bhagavad Gita.  For understanding precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita in totality... our remaining truthful for a period of 12 years in continuation was mandated by God Almighty. Not a single lapse was permitted on path of absolute truthfulness. This is what celibacy as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was all about. Abstention from a physical relationship alone did not tantamount to practice of celibacy. We had to stop flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality... to understand Bhagavad Gita.

Bhagavad Gita Reincarnation Rebirth Meaning Definition

Bhagavad Gita Hinduism interprets process of reincarnation... rebirth in a different way! As per Bhagavad Gita when souls' atmans were indestructible... could neither be created nor destroyed... all concepts of reincarnation existing in varied Hindu literature and other religions of world were meaningless... had no relevance! A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.   As per Bhagavad Gita the entire cosmic journey of a soul atman is one single span of life... absolutely unbroken... uninterrupted! This entire journey of life by a soul atman gets covered in 8.4 million manifestations that required an earthly sojourn of 96.4 million years! The human span... the journey of life by a soul atman in human form consists of 1.1 million manifestations... that approximately required 12.4 million earthly years.  Body to body... manifestation after manifestation... the cosmic journey of life for every soul atman was one unbroken cycle of life. After death of present body... every soul atman manifested another body based on residual balance of karma of that moment. For a soul atman to manifest a body... if matching parents were not available on mother earth... it hibernated in heaven or hell.  In heaven... if the residual balance of karma was positive and hell, if negative! No sooner matching parents became available on mother earth... the hibernating soul atman immediately manifested a new body and started a new cycle of life. As a student of class one promotes to class two... every soul atman also kept changing life forms after another.  The meaning of Reincarnation as defined in various encyclopedias dictionaries was flawed. The rebirth of soul in a new body was meaningless. Every soul atman was all powerful. It exists from times immemorial. At no stage of life it ever died. Only when death of physical body occurred... the soul atman immediately manifested a new body based on residual balance of karma.  From spirituality point of view... the concepts of reincarnation... rebirth did not exist in cosmos! Only when something died... it could rebirth! When death of soul atman never occurs... how it could rebirth... reincarnate! For understanding clear definition of reincarnation... rebirth, our indulgence in spirituality was mandated by God Almighty. Only by traveling spiritual path... human beings finally unveiled pearls of wisdom that lay hidden in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.  It was path of spirituality and spirituality alone that finally led human beings to God Almighty!

Bhagavad Gita Online

Page 10: Bhagabat Geeta

There is no dearth of Bhagavad Gita online literature available on Internet but does it serve any other purpose than reference material. By assimilating wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita literally... we never get anywhere. It was path of contemplation that finally led to pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. For realizing our true inner self... reaching our soul atman, the spirit within our indulgence in path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) was necessitated.   Literal text can only act as reference material... nothing else. On path of pure spirituality... it was love for mankind that mattered most. Most human beings who indulged in shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita online never came to understand anything unless they worked for welfare of mankind at large. Most people read and reread Bhagavad Gita texts online but to no avail. We must learn to serve mankind as most Americans did in daily life.  The concept of community as it exists in America must be followed by every single country in the world. The community feeling that exists in America is par excellence. The system of American libraries available free to all American citizens is an excellent example of making literature available to masses at practically zero costs. Andrew Carnegie pioneered the concept of public libraries that became a fundamental of American living with grace and style.  Working like Andrew Carnegie is what Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is all about. The primary precepts of life were further deliberated upon by Napoleon Hill in his several self-help books. It was Andrew Carnegie who helped Napoleon Hill to become a self-help specialist of his times. Those who truly desired traveling spiritual path must understand one simple thing... unless we worked for welfare of mankind all the time... nothing in world of Bhagavad Gita becomes clear.  In Hinduism... most Hindus indulged in teachings of Bhagavad Gita literally practically reaching nowhere. So was not the case with Americans who truly cared for others. Leave aside politicians who have ruined United States of America in the eyes of world. US presently does not enjoy superpower number one status as it enjoyed in past. In times to come... even American citizens would feel the pinch of American politics. The WTC affair was a preamble to great show that awaits Americans in near future. Who can help in the circumstances?  Whatever karma is performed... we have to bear the consequences... so says Bhagavad Gita!  In our Endeavour to understand Bhagavad Gita online... we must primarily work for welfare of mankind from heart. In my 50 years of spiritual travail... I have never placed benefit of self before that of others. All the time I have worked for welfare of mankind... so much so that in 1993 God Almighty graced and helped me reach stage of self realization... God realization! Soon after I realized God... contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita became like ABCD to me. It was as if I had dictated contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita in one of my previous manifestations.  Most Hindus world over with religious inclination worked for name and fame and so was the case with religious preachers of other religions of world! In field of pure spirituality it was punya karma that ruled the roost and not material riches... that could never be carried to next world. After death of mortal body it is only punya or paap karma that carried to next life manifested by our soul atman, the spirit within! When law of karma is governing in entire cosmos... why indulge in unethical practices that prolonged our cosmic journey. In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  For a sincere seeker of spirituality... ephemeral riches of physical manifest life carried no meaning. By indulging in Bhagavad Gita online... by concentrating on underlying meaning contained in shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita human beings finally understood Bhagavad Gita in totality. Understanding Bhagavad Gita was the path... gaining enlightenment, ultimate goal of life on mother earth. As a human being it should be our Endeavour to indulge in process of self enquiry... Neti (not this, not this) to reach God in present life time!

What does Bhagavad Gita say about Death

Page 11: Bhagabat Geeta

As per sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... death carried no meaning in mortal world. Death... as per Bhagavad Gita was just a medium for souls' atmans to manifest another life form. Unless death of present body occurred... our soul atman could not manifest another body. Death was part of cosmic life cycle. In absence of death in cosmic system... everything would become stagnant!   A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  As per Bhagavad Gita every single soul atman in its lifetime manifested a maximum of 8.4 million forms of which last 1.1 million forms consisted of human life. The initial 7.3 million manifestations in the life of a soul atman occurred in insect, plant and animal form! The movement of soul atman from one manifestation to another was facilitated by death... termed Mrityu in Hinduism!  The evolution of life in cosmic system was a cyclic process. When a life form reached its mortal end... the soul atman immediately after death of mortal body manifested a new life form. If matching parents were not available on mother earth... the released soul atman hibernated in heaven or hell. In heaven... if the residual balance of karma was positive and hell, if negative!  Death of mortal frame did not mean end of life for the present life form. We are primarily a soul atman... pure consciousness that manifested a life form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within! No soul atman could purify self of its own. It needs a medium... a body to work out its karma. Furthermore, it was only through manifest form of human beings every soul atman finally reached cosmic end of life... 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle!  Souls' atmans... karma... death were all integrally related as per theory of spirituality. In absence of one... the other could not subsist! As per Bhagavad Gita we must indulge in good karma... positive karma all the time! Why? After death of mortal body nothing gets carried to next life except residual balance of karma. It was based on karma our soul atman manifested new life form.  It is in our interest... it is in the interest of us as a soul atman that we indulged in positive karma... good karma all the time. Only by doing so could we accumulate Punya karma that finally led to God Almighty in our lifetime. It was only by accumulating Punya karma human beings finally succeeded in cutting across shackles of karma forever.  By committing suicide... one never gained anything in life. Committing suicide was an offence as per Bhagavad Gita. Our soul atman after death of mortal body in present life (that resulted from committing suicide) again manifests a lower life form than present. What of sin incurred by committing suicide? By committing suicide we again suffered in life as our soul atman would manifest a lower form of life in next manifestation.  As journey of life for a soul atman was an unbroken continuous process... why indulge in negative karma and mar our future! When a person becomes enlightened... one finally overtakes death forever. For one who was immortal... death of mortal form carried no meaning. Enlightenment was gained by reducing karma to zero.  Human beings who did not believe in existence of soul atman were ignorant in matters spiritual. Such human beings always clamored for material riches beyond requirements. Pursuing religious path... such human beings desired reaching God in their lifetime. God Almighty could never be reached via path of religion... path of rituals! For reaching God in present life... path of pure spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was necessitated.

Bhagavad Gita Study Guide

The best detail of Bhagavad Gita study guide is available in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. As per Bhagavad Gita unless one was truthful in life... nothing in field of pure spirituality could be understood... accomplished. One could travel spiritual path only if one was totally truthful in life. Most human beings complained about reading Bhagavad Gita again and again but not being able to understand the hidden inner meanings.

Page 12: Bhagabat Geeta

One failed to realize that gist of Bhagavad Gita could not be understood remaining untruthful in life! In my 50 years of spiritual travail I have yet to come across a person who was absolutely truthful in all affairs of life. Such people are difficult... almost impossible to come by! In India... the spiritual citadel of world... truthfulness is never practiced at its best. The untruth is distinctly writ large on faces of all. One can read faces and easily make out one was untruthful in life.  Comparatively people in West were more truthful than Indians. As per my minute observation in United States of America... most Americans lived Bhagavad Gita every day of life. Even though ignorant about teachings of Bhagavad Gita... most Americans still followed teachings of Bhagavad Gita ceremoniously in their life day after day... month after month... year after year! Truthfulness is writ large on their faces all the time.  Whether you commit a robbery for one dollar or $1 million... it amounts to same as per Bhagavad Gita. One was a thief in both the circumstances. On path of pure spirituality... path of absolute truthfulness... not a single lapse was permitted by God Almighty. For gaining enlightenment... practice of absolute truthfulness for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation was necessitated. This is what absolute celibacy all about!  If we truly desire studying Bhagavad Gita... understanding inner meanings of spiritual texts contained in Bhagavad Gita... our becoming truthful in life was an absolute must. Most human beings on mother earth underestimated power of absolute truthfulness. Only when we were truthful... could we hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman that seemed to come from within our heart. Prompted by voice of our soul atman human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment... end of cosmic life! In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  Another aspect of studying Bhagavad Gita is indulging in Satsanga (spiritual discourse) with like-minded people. To cut across shackles of karma... queries existing within us must reduce step-by-step. Clarifying our doubts directly with people more intelligent than us leads to our soul atman becoming purer than before. As queries within dissolved slowly... one scaled higher levels of spirituality! The moment our karma negates to zero... one becomes an enlightened one forever.  Bhagavad Gita is not a textbook... its content could never be understood literally. For understanding Bhagavad Gita, for studying Bhagavad Gita... we must learn to read in between the lines. At this stage of life if we could find a spiritual preceptor (spiritual master) of the level of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana... our spiritual journey would not only expedite but complete early. Swami Vivekananda was a lucky spiritual traveler in this respect.  In the early stages of his life Swami Vivekananda discovered his spiritual preceptor... the famous saint of Dakshineswar who had already realized God. Satisfactory answers to all queries of Swami Vivekananda were provided by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa... so much so that Swami Vivekananda developed absolute faith in God Almighty. Thereafter Swami Vivekananda never had to look back. He became a wandering monk who truly worked for welfare of community all the time.  In his lifetime, Swami Vivekananda did not realize God. The goal of life for Swami Vivekananda always was serving community to its level best.  Swami Vivekananda was one disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa whom he trusted blindfolded. Such was the spiritual bondage between Swami Vivekananda and Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa that at many times... both understood each other without ever saying a word. Any human being on mother earth who displayed willpower possessed by Swami Vivekananda was fit enough to indulge in Bhagavad Gita... travel spiritual journey and reach stage of enlightenment in present life.

Bhagavad Gita Creation of the Universe Cosmos

As per Bhagavad Gita the creation of cosmos resulted when God Almighty exploded self with a big bang (God Almighty was that singularity that existed at the time of big bang). Most religious

Page 13: Bhagabat Geeta

preachers... human beings on mother earth would not be able to digest this absolute fact of life. Why? Anything abstract related to God Almighty can only be understood via path of spirituality... never religion... path of rituals! God Almighty is not the form of human beings.   God Almighty... the sum total of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form is the form of pure primordial energy... the size of half a thumb! This magnanimous primordial cosmic energy... size of half a thumb is what we called God Almighty in all its glory! Scientists’ world over termed it as the singularity existing at the time of big bang. The scientific community world over is still puzzled about this tiny mass of cosmic energy that resulted in formation of cosmos.  The exact structure of this unbelievably dense matter is beyond capture of scientists’ world over. But for a seeker of spirituality... traveler of absolute truth... knowing identity of God Almighty was never difficult! The moment human beings reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism)... the structure of entire cosmos from A to Z became absolutely clear to one. Understanding God in its truthful form becomes easier for one who was totally truthful in life.  Path of spirituality demands becoming totally truthful in life. One who was not totally truthful could never travel spiritual path sincerely and diligently. When human beings said, they had read Bhagavad Gita several times but still could not assimilate teachings of Bhagavad Gita... it only indicated that people were not totally truthful in life. Truthfulness was one of the most important ingredients for traveling spiritual path... something people world over never could understand!  More than indulging in sacred scriptures... it was practising truthfulness that paved way for reaching God in present life. Unless we were truthful to core... an embodiment of truth... we could never know identity of God Almighty or even our soul atman, the spirit within! For reading Bhagavad Gita, for understanding pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita... our following path of absolute truthfulness was mandated by God Almighty... something one could never avoid! A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  To understand how present cosmos came into being... we must have absolute faith in God Almighty. Let us go back to a stage in time when dissolution of old cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism) occurs. At this time... volume of entire cosmos reduced to size of half a thumb. In absence of dross impurities within... the entire cluster of souls' atmans occupied the volume of half a thumb. Does this mean... at the time of Pralaya (dissolution of cosmos)... every single soul atman in cosmos reached stage of absolute purity... yes, the cosmic truth is so!  Unless all souls’ atmans became pure... complete dissolution of cosmos (Pralaya in Hinduism) could never result. This magnificent mass of cosmic energy, size of half a thumb... unable to control itself for long in its prime pure state... again explodes with a big bang... giving rise to a new cosmos, a new journey of life! The explosion of God Almighty to form new cosmos is an absolute fact of life that no spiritual traveler could ever deny. If we human beings existed... so did souls atmans. And existence of souls' atmans invariably proved existence of God Almighty.  It is a wonder how people in this world disputed existence of God Almighty.  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is one such scripture that detailed everything relating to creation of present cosmos. Science demands proofs that are not forthcoming in field of pure spirituality. As a scientist it is almost impossible to understand creation theory of cosmos. Only by traveling spiritual path, undertaking spiritual journey did human beings finally unveil hidden cosmic truths of life. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism encompassed everything relating to life in entire cosmos.  As per Bhagavad Gita... the present cosmos (termed Brahmand in Hinduism) consists of many universes. Each universe contained millions of galaxies and each galaxy millions of stars... of which our solar system is a smaller star. Even though life of human beings seemed insignificant in vast maze of entire cosmos, human form still is the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle. It is only in human form a soul atman finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever.  Those desirous of understanding entity of God Almighty... those who wanted to understand everything related to creation of cosmos must indulge in spirituality through medium of Bhagavad Gita. It is only Bhagavad Gita that makes clear everything related to present cosmos. In the present scientific age

Page 14: Bhagabat Geeta

indulgence in Vedas (Hinduism revelations) was not necessitated. Knowing Bhagavad Gita one finally becomes knower of all... gains omniscience for all practical purposes!

Gita Press Gorakhpur India

Gita Press, Gorakhpur, India is a renowned publication house that provides extremely subsidized copies of religious literature to mankind at large. The original gist of Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine given to mankind by Lord Krishna along with English transliteration is available for mere $.60 (Rs. 30/=). With passage of time original teachings of Lord Krishna have not diluted. Gita press, Gorakhpur, India has helped India preserve its vital religious documents intact.   In spite of the fact that Gita press, Gorakhpur, India is doing a wonderful job by providing subsidized copies of Bhagavad Gita and other religious scriptures... it has bitterly failed in the field of after sales service. I receive many complaints from people world over and in India that even though I recommend books of Gita press, Gorakhpur, India vociferously in many articles on my various websites... Gita press people were not doing their job rightly.  Some received books they had not ordered. Some still awaited delivery of books they ordered months ago. Most complained about receiving wrong version of the book. If the after sale service of Gita press, Gorakhpur, India continues remaining tardy and poor... then who can help in the matter. Most people looking after sales are Hindi speaking. Having no knowledge of English... they tend to send wrong versions of books without double-checking the order.  Unless some senior person in the organization goes into depth of the problem... people would continue receiving wrong books from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. Whenever I chance to go to Gita Bhawan, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh... I tell them about the predicament faced by many people but there is none to help in the matter as senior officials are located at Gorakhpur, India.  Once when Swami Ramsukhdasji was visiting Gita Bhawan, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh... I wanted to meet him in person. But in the midst of the vast crowd... even though I tried my best... I could not meet him. He was all the time surrounded by office bearers and ardent followers. I finally realized my folly of wanting to meet a religious person even though I was totally spiritual from the beginning of life.  Whenever I get an opportunity in near future... I shall definitely convey to the senior management of Gita press, Gorakhpur, India about inconveniences experienced by various people in dealing with their sales division.  I personally love publications of Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. I have so many copies of their publications that I truly feel humbled by what Gita press, Gorakhpur, India is doing for mankind. If I ever desire any publication from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India... I personally go to their Delhi sales office located at Nai Sarak, Chandni Chowk, Delhi or Gita Bhawan, Muni Ki Reti, Rishikesh. Once when I sent a person to get some books... he got the wrong versions and I had to exchange them.  My advice to all in this case is... get books from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India through a friend if possible. As most people working in Gita press retail outlets are Hindi speaking... they land sending wrong versions of Gita press books to people world over.

1. Existence of a Soul Atman Amongst most important teachings of Bhagavad Gita laid the fact that we are primarily cosmic consciousness... termed soul atman that manifested human form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within. As no soul atman could purify self of its own... it always needs a body... a medium to cleanse self of dross impurities within. Teachings of Bhagavad Gita prove beyond doubt that cosmic life belonged to world of souls' atmans and not the manifest physical human form. Unless we believed we were a living consciousness... no point reading Bhagavad Gita any further! Our belief in our real self as a soul atman is the primary crux of spiritual life. We failed to realize our true inner self because of presence of ego (termed Aham in Hinduism).  To remove veil of ignorance is ultimate goal of spirituality. Indulgence in teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita removed veil of ignorance step-by-step. It is only by indulgence in jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) human beings finally succeeded in removing veil of ignorance forever. Path of jnana yoga can only be traveled by assimilating pearls of jnana (wisdom) contained in Bhagavad Gita. This veil of ignorance has been termed veil of Maya by Adi Shankaracharya.

2. Purification of soul atman The second important teaching of Bhagavad Gita whirled around the world of souls' atmans. No sooner big bang occurred... all pure souls atmans got mired in impurities. To cleanse self of dross impurities within started cosmic life cycle of every soul atman. In its lifetime... every soul atman manifests a total of 8.4 million manifestations... that entailed an earthly sojourn of 96.4 million years. In 8.4 millionth manifestation... every soul atman finally reached cosmic end of life.  Out of 8.4 million manifestations by a soul atman... the initial 7.3 million manifestations occurred in insect, plant and animal life. In the remaining 1.1 million manifestations in human form... one is expected to reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). From beginning to last... effort of every soul atman always remained... liberation from cycle of birth and death at the earliest. The moment a soul atman gained absolute purity... the need for soul atman to manifest further life ceased to exist.  Human beings reaching stage of enlightenment... complete eradication of dross impurities within a soul atman announced end of cosmic journey for the soul atman. The purified soul atman, moment human beings gained salvation moksha entered abode of God... kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism). The purified souls atmans remained in Vaikuntha (kingdom of God) until eternity... i.e. dissolution of entire cosmos (Pralaya in Hinduism) occurred.

3. Importance of karma in evolution of life including human beings

Page 16: Bhagabat Geeta

Karma played the governing role in purification of souls' atmans. In absence of karma life carried no meaning in cosmic system. The evolution of life in cosmic system was facilitated by karma. Unless life forms including human beings indulged in karma... life would never move ahead in cosmos. Just by remaining inert human beings achieved nothing in life. We had to indulge in karma... no matter what! Karma was primarily inbuilt into every form of life.  Whenever death of body occurred on mother earth... it was karma that facilitated movement of soul from one manifestation to another. The residual balance of present life becomes opening balance for next manifestation. The new manifestation by a soul atman was directly based on residual balance of karma of previous life. If the residual balance of karma demanded a soul atman manifesting form of a laborer in next life... one just could not be born a Prince!  Miracles in cosmic system did not exist. Religious followers who believed in miracles were an ignorant lot who never truly achieved anything in life. Life in cosmic system was never based on rhetoric. If we desired a better manifestation in next life... we must indulge in good karma... positive karma in present life. If we exist at number 47 on the karmic scale in present life... our attempt should be reaching number 48 in next life. At number hundred one reached stage of enlightenment! Becoming an enlightened one meant karma negating to zero forever!  For negating karma to zero, God Almighty ordained a long journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form. Enlightenment truly is not gained that easily. If we truly desire reaching God in present life... we have to enact karma accordingly. Karma of human beings was directly related to ones thinking. Invocation of pure thoughts all the time is what pure celibacy is all about. Just by indulging in Bhagavad Gita we never achieved anything.  The contents of sacred Bhagavad Gita can only be understood by following path of absolute truthfulness. Unless we traveled path of truthfulness all the time... we just could not succeed in assimilating teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. Karma not only played a vital role in our gaining enlightenment... it also meant cessation of life forever as human beings. As a human being it should be our goal of life to indulge in good karma... positive karma all the time!  Bhagavad Gita advocated indulging in karma nishkama karma way. As we were primarily a soul atman... a spirit... living consciousness... the fruits of karma performed by human beings always belonged to our inner self... our soul atman, the spirit within! When fruits of karma always belonged to our soul atman... why indulge in accumulating material riches as human beings... something that could never be carried to next world.  What gets carried to next life is Punya karma alone and everything else is left behind! In spite of this clear indication in teachings of Bhagavad Gita... human beings most of time indulged in accumulating material riches beyond requirements. Prime reason why travellers of spiritual path all the time failed in understanding precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita. As a human being we must put all our energies behind the only goal of life... negating karma to zero forever!  JRD Tata... the man of steel popularly called Jeh was a true Karma Yogi par excellence. It is an established belief of Tata Empire that nothing belonged to them ever. As per beliefs of Tata Empire... everything belonged to God Almighty and Tata were only custodians of everything that truly belonged to God Almighty. Tata have always acted as a true trustees... indulging in nishkama karma way of life as dictated in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... prime reason why Indians believed in Tata blindfolded from generations to come.

4. Value of human life as per Bhagavad Gita As per Bhagavad Gita human form carried immense importance. It is only in human form every soul atman finally reached logical end of life. Human form is the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle. Human form is the highest stage of evolution in cosmic life cycle. In the human form highest stage of evolution is reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) forever. Even though 70 to 80 years of human life carried no meaning in vast expanse of cosmic life still, it was only in human form every soul atman finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever.

Page 17: Bhagabat Geeta

The purpose of human life as per Bhagavad Gita was always fixed from beginning of life... gaining enlightenment! Every human being shall one day gain enlightenment, reach 8.4 millionth manifestation... last in cosmic life cycle... when souls' atmans finally liberated self forever. Human life... human form was but a temporary sojourn for a soul atman. As human beings we were only doing bidding of soul atman within. A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  Similar as one KG of pure gold sandwiched in hundred KG gold ore cannot separate self of its own and requires requisite mining machinery and processes for the same... every soul atman also required a chain of bodies to manifest self... work out its karma. After completing initial journey of life by manifesting various forms in insect, plant and animal life... every soul atman finally manifested human form. As per Bhagavad Gita every soul atman undergoes a maximum of 1.1 million human forms before it finally reached stage of liberation forever.  Travel in human form is the most pleasant experience for a soul atman. For human beings to gain enlightenment is a wonderful experience that could never be expressed in words. Gaining enlightenment means reaching God forever. As human beings we must never underrate value of life. Pursuing material riches one never achieved anything. As human beings we must always indulge in good karma, positive karma to accumulate Punya karma to the best extent possible. Enlightenment by human beings is only achieved by traveling spiritual path, never path of religion... path of rituals.  We must also remember... we had one life to live... the present earthly sojourn! We do not know what form our soul atman manifests in next manifestation. It is in our interest to complete cosmic journey of life in present manifestation. By following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita... by pursuing path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana... any human being world over could easily reach stage of enlightenment.  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism only showed the way... the journey always needs to be covered by us human beings only. Pursuing worldly path dominated by bloated ego never gained us anything on spiritual path. Intelligent human beings who wanted to reach God in present life ceremoniously followed path of spirituality to reach God early in life. Path of spirituality is the path of spirit... the real self of us! The sooner we realize our real self... the better for us! That was how God Almighty ordained journey in human form.

5. Bhagavad Gita Quotes on Death Death as per Bhagavad Gita was only transient... ephemeral that facilitated movement of life from one phase of life to another. Unless death occurred in cosmic system... life simply could not evolve any further. Only after death of present body... our soul atman, the spirit within manifested another life form. In absence of death in cosmic system... the whole system would become stagnant... unworkable.   If death never occurred in human form... how would the decaying body manage itself any further? As per Bhagavad Gita... our soul atman, the spirit within was always immortal... it could never birth or die... it just existed from times immemorial. For a soul atman, the cosmic consciousness within... death truly carried no meaning. Occurrence of death in cosmic system was like changing of guards at Buckingham Palace.  When the old human frame became frail... it finally succumbed to death. The released soul atman immediately manifested a new life form based on residual balance of karma of previous life. If matching parents were not available on mother earth... the soul atman hibernated in heaven or hell. In heaven... if the residual balance of karma was positive and hell, if negative! Both heaven and hell (termed swarga and naraka in Hinduism) existed in sun.  Death of human body does not mean end of cosmic life. The entire life cycle of 8.4 million manifestations in life of a soul atman was one single uninterrupted unbroken circle of life. Before human beings reached stage of enlightenment... their soul atman witnessed millions of deaths and that too in human form. Enlightenment is not gained within one lifetime. As per Bhagavad Gita in the human form itself we had 1.1 million types of manifestations.

Page 18: Bhagabat Geeta

After gaining enlightenment... the fear of death vanished from human beings. Death of mortal body carried no meaning for an enlightened one. One who as a soul atman gained absolute purity... the reason for fear of death just did not exist. One who had become immortal forever... death carried no meaning! Great are those human beings who in their lifetime traveled path of spirituality finally reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana).  After death of mortal body... the family weeps bereaved but in cosmic domain it was nothing more than changing of guards at Buckingham Palace. The complete philosophy of death rotated around doctrine of karma. As our karma... accordingly manifested our destiny! As per Bhagavad Gita... we were the absolute masters and controllers of life on mother earth. By molding our thoughts... by indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time we can manifest our destiny forever.  We as human beings must never fear death under any circumstance of life. Travellers of spiritual path always knew about this abstract truth of life. It was only practitioners of religion... rituals who feared death all the time.

6. Bhagavad Gita Translation   Can a human being successfully translate Bhagavad Gita... a sacred holy text as abstract as it could ever be! As many human beings... as many different interpretations of Bhagavad Gita could there be. In the circumstances... to expect a correct Bhagavad Gita translation was totally out of question. No scriptural text belonging to any religion of world could ever be translated. All the attempted translations of scriptural texts never conveyed the intended abstract meaning.  Something that needs to be contemplated... something that could be comprehended only by traveling path of jnana (wisdom)... something that could be learnt only in company of revered saints and sages... how could an ordinary mortal attempt translation of the same. Translation of Bhagavad Gita was just impossible. Only a commentary on Bhagavad Gita could be written and that too by an enlightened one... a bodhi... a Jina... a Mahavira.  Travelers of religious path who had no inkling what spirituality was all about... indulged in varied translations of Bhagavad Gita. Such people never truly learnt anything in life. For them reading translations of Bhagavad Gita was merely a ritual. Why indulge in translations of Bhagavad Gita when sufficient scriptural texts relating to life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana were available... both of whom gained enlightenment in their lifetime.

7. Bhakti Yoga Bhagavad Gita   Bhakti in Hinduism was the path for reaching God in earlier times. But, in the present scientific age... path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) was necessitated for reaching God in present life. Not one but many sages and saints of different era gained enlightenment in their lifetime via path of bhakti yoga. Bhakti Hinduism demands absolute submission to God Almighty which in present times is almost impossible to achieve.  Bhakti yoga is following path of religion... path of rituals! Singing praises... indulging in intense prayers... worshipping God were all part of bhakti yoga. For practitioners of bhakti yoga... the individual self carried no meaning. Merging individual self with that of God Almighty was the ultimate goal of life for a true Bhakta. For a follower of bhakti yoga... ego (Aham) had to be dissolved forever. In the present scientific age overcoming ego (Aham) was a difficult task.  In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana gained enlightenment. Both of these spiritual stalwarts initially started their pursuit of God via path of bhakti yoga but finally both switched to path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) that required contemplation on God Almighty all the time. Unless one followed path of self enquiry in present life, God Almighty could not be reached!

Page 19: Bhagabat Geeta

Even today... one could start search of God via path of bhakti yoga. But, comes a stage in life... when one finally switched to path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) forever! Path of bhakti yoga was easier to travel... prime reason why in earlier times people preferred traveling path of bhakti yoga compared to path of jnana yoga. In earlier times when Gurukul Parampara existed... it was easier to travel path of bhakti yoga under guidance of an enlightened spiritual master.  Many saints from Maharashtra state of India followed path of bhakti yoga to reach God Almighty. Path of bhakti Hinduism is truly a marvelous concept but difficult to follow. Living life of a trustee... indulging in karma, nishkama karma way... human beings could easily follow path of bhakti yoga. Surrendering ego (Aham in Hinduism)... surrendering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty all the time... human beings truly reached God via path of bhakti yoga.

8. Jnana Yoga Bhagavad Gita Jnana yoga of Hinduism is the path to gaining enlightenment in present life. The path of jnana yoga can only be traveled by following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. Path of jnana yoga is following path of jnana (wisdom) that necessitated contemplation on wisdom contained in scriptures of different religions of world.  Jnana (wisdom) is totally different from intelligence (bookish knowledge). Jnana (wisdom) helped human beings evolve further in cosmic life cycle. Intelligence (bookish knowledge) was intended for physical manifest self to earn daily livelihood. In present times everything rotated around intelligence that was ephemeral. Indulgence in jnana (wisdom) meant studying scriptures.  Unless human beings contemplated on whatever was written in scriptures... none could travel spiritual path sincerely and diligently. For knowing inner truths of life... for realizing our true inner self... our soul atman, the spirit within... assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was an absolute must.  The contents of Bhagavad Gita could only be understood by traveling path of jnana (wisdom)... never path of intelligence. Most religious people preferred path of intelligence than path of jnana (wisdom). It was not within their capability to contemplate on wisdom contained in scriptures. In the present scientific age dominated by bloated egos people found it easier to travel path of religion, rituals... never realizing that God Almighty could ever be reached that way.  As practiced and preached by Maharishi Ramana... path of self enquiry was a sure shot method for reaching God in present life. Unless we indulged in Neti (not this, not this) none could reach God in present life. People desirous of reaching God in present life must indulge in Satsanga (spiritual congregations) to find answers to their queries.  In absence of a spiritual master... medium of Satsanga is the best course for human beings to realize self... realize God... reach stage of enlightenment forever! To reach inner truth contained in scriptures... to understand sublime truths of life our understanding teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita was an absolute must. In present times... jnana (wisdom) contained in Bhagavad Gita sufficed for humanity to reach stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism).  Jnana yoga is the path... reaching God, our ultimate goal of life! Both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana followed path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) to reach God in their lifetime. Path of jnana yoga meant following path of absolute truthfulness... always and ever. When we were truthful... the underlying meaning of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita becomes crystal clear to us.  Prime reason why Americans were much ahead of Indians in matters spiritual! Unknowingly all Americans followed teachings of Bhagavad Gita in their daily life. Truthfulness writ large on their faces... they were always truthful from inside. The glow on their faces said it all. There was no pretension in Americans who lived life as if it was their first and the last day.  The entire world must emulate American standard of living. Even though they knew nothing of Bhagavad Gita... still, most Americans followed teachings of Bhagavad Gita by remaining truthful all

Page 20: Bhagabat Geeta

their life. The most important ingredient for following Bhagavad Gita... for traveling path of jnana yoga was remaining truthful all throughout. In the glare of material riches... following path of jnana yoga seemed difficult... but was not impossible!  If Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana did it... so could others! The world must follow example of Swami Vivekananda... the famous pupil saint of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. Swami Vivekananda could have easily gained enlightenment in his lifetime had he desired so. But goal of life for Swami Vivekananda always was community service... nothing else mattered to him more. Swami Vivekananda truly was a spiritual traveler par excellence.  No matter how much Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa tried and goaded Swami Vivekananda to change his path... he was adamant on living his life... his way! Under the able preceptorship of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda could have easily gained enlightenment in his lifetime... but destiny willed it otherwise.

9. Bhagavad Gita Krishna Role of Krishna in Bhagavad Gita was that of creator. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita was given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata between Pandava and Kaurava Kings. The sermon of Bhagavad Gita was given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna to uphold values of dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). As per Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna was an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form).  Lord Krishna was the first avatar to have manifested mankind in human form. To provide reprieve to ailing mankind, Lord Krishna gave sermon of Bhagavad Gita that constituted hidden ethical principles of eternal life. In short... knowing teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita human beings finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime. Compared to Bhagavad Gita there is no other scripture available in any religion of world that even compliments Bhagavad Gita.  The sermon of Bhagavad Gita by Krishna had no parallel in mankind. For knowing gist of life... for realizing our true inner self... for reaching God in present life, teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita were necessitated. In present times no human being world over could gain enlightenment without assimilating pearls of wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. The 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita were full of jnana (wisdom).  An avatar in Hinduism was one who was a combination of a man god like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed and Chanakya (the most able administrator in the entire history of mankind). To uphold mortal values, Chanakya in a single day rather night eliminated 100 Kings to save lives of millions of countrymen, masses... commoners. As per Bhagavad Gita... still no sin was incurred by Chanakya.  God Almighty through Krishna in Bhagavad Gita states... to save lives of millions, if few evil people are eliminated then no sin is incurred in the process. This is the sublime message of Bhagavad Gita to mankind. As per Krishna in Bhagavad Gita... human beings must always live balanced life... maintaining a delicate balance between right and wrong doings. We sometimes indulged in wrong doings unknowingly. By undergoing penance... we can always undo all wrong doings of past. This is what indulgence in good karma, positive karma all about!  The value of an avatar... messiah... savior must never be underrated. Only when life comes full circle... coming of a messiah, savior is necessitated. As ordained by God Almighty... Satan never wins the end. David always defeats Goliath in the end. No matter how adverse circumstances seem... life in cosmic system was always governed by law of dharma (force of righteousness).  In the battle of Mahabharata, King Duryodhana was very confident that he would win the fight as Bhishma Pitamah (grandfather) and his revered teacher Dronacharya was with him. He also had the support of entire army of Lord Krishna. But King Duryodhana failed to realize that Lord Krishna himself was with Pandava King Arjuna. King Duryodhana underestimated powers of Lord Krishna... an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form)! This was the single biggest mistake of his life that cost him his entire empire.

Page 21: Bhagabat Geeta

10. Bhagavad Gita Mahabharata   Bhagavad Gita forms part of Hindu epic Mahabharata. The sermon of Bhagavad Gita was given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the historic battle of Mahabharata that was rightly termed as battle of dharma (righteousness).  The battle of Mahabharata was a Dharma yuddha fought between dharmic and adharmic forces of nature. The dharmic forces comprised of people who sided righteousness all the time. The adharmic forces comprised of people with evil intentions. Even though the kingdom rightly belonged to Pandava Kings who were elder in the family... King Duryodhana fought tooth and nail to usurp the kingdom from his co-brothers.  Initially Pandava Kings handed the kingdom peacefully to King Duryodhana but whence time for Pandava Kings to rule came... King Duryodhana refused to part with kingdom. And then ensued battle of dharma... mother of all battles fought in entire history of mankind. From beginning Lord Krishna sided Pandavas (the righteous kings). Lord Krishna knew outcome of battle even before start of war but his pleadings with King Duryodhana fell on deaf ears.  What astonished all was attitude of Bhishma Pitamah (maternal grandfather) and even Dronacharya (the respected guru of entire clan) who sided King Duryodhana (one full of deceit and treachery)!  When both armies lined up for battle... on seeing his beloved grandfather and guru Dronacharya standing on opposite side... King Arjuna refused to fight. When Lord Krishna... the charioteer of King Arjuna failed to convince King Arjuna to fight... he gave sermon of Bhagavad Gita to King Arjuna. As King Arjuna gradually realized that it was his folly not to fight... he slowly prepared self to fight battle of Mahabharata... battle of dharma (righteousness)!  In the sermon Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna admonished King Arjuna by calling him a coward. Lord Krishna stated that King Arjuna was supposed to fight the battle as a King for the sake of his countrymen even though many of his cousins and family members existed in the opposite camp. Lord Krishna further emphasized that body of King Arjuna was only a medium... it was our soul atman, the spirit within that was always governing in cosmic system.  It was our soul atman, the spirit within that manifested human form to work out its karma. Lord Krishna emphasized on King Arjuna that Arjuna was duty-bound to fight the enemy. Practically he had no other choice as a King. No sooner King Arjuna realized his folly... he fought the battle with full vigor. Lord Krishna told Arjuna that he was fighting battle of dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). Lord Krishna emphasized Arjuna to fight the battle with an unattached attitude.  Lord Krishna also indicated to Arjuna that if his maternal grandfather Bhishma Pitamah and favorite guru Dronacharya sided evil forces... they were wrong! To fight the enemy was his dharma (his eternal right) and none in the world could stop him from doing so. As the sermon of Bhagavad Gita prolonged further... King Arjuna eventually realized the gravity of situation. He finally fought a pitched battle with the enemy along with his four brother kings.  The epic Mahabharata carried utmost importance in life of human beings not only in India but world over. As sermon of Bhagavad Gita is part of epic Mahabharata... both Bhagavad Gita and epic Mahabharata are invaluable documents in life of human beings.  The complete essence of human life is contained in teachings of Bhagavad Gita. By following wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita seriously and ceremoniously... any human being world over could easily reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). One may follow any religion, faith or belief but to gain enlightenment in present life... our indulgence in sacred teachings of Bhagavad Gita was an absolute must... one could never do without!

11. Bhagavad Gita Karma Yoga

Page 22: Bhagabat Geeta

Likewise bhakti yoga and jnana yoga... karma yoga also was the path to reaching God in present life. But God could not be realized through path of karma yoga alone. One had to ultimately travel path of jnana yoga to reach God. By karma yoga we meant path of nishkama karma yoga following which one offered fruits of all karma performed to God Almighty all the time. Unless we became a Nishkama Karma Yogi... we could not gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). Following path of nishkama karma yoga in present life... in the present materialistic world was extremely difficult. Only a person who exhibited willpower possessed by Swami Vivekananda could finally travel path of nishkama karma yoga to reach God in present life. Practice of nishkama karma yoga seemed easy but was very difficult to practice. Our ego (Aham in Hinduism) stopped us from offering fruits of all karma performed to God Almighty.  In the present scientific age... most human beings dominated by a bloated ego worked with a vested self-interest. In the circumstances... how could one offer fruits of karma performed to God Almighty? Only a serious traveler of spirituality who had absolute faith in God Almighty all the time could finally travel path of nishkama karma yoga as traveled by Swami Vivekananda.  Path of nishkama karma yoga had nothing to do with religion... path of rituals! Only a traveler of spiritual path needs to indulge in path of nishkama karma yoga. One who desired reaching absolute truths of life... one who wanted to know, "Who am I"... one who wanted to understand teachings of Bhagavad Gita in entirety needed traveling path of nishkama karma yoga.  The path of nishkama karma yoga was explicitly detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. By reducing I of ego within, human beings step-by-step negated their ego (Aham) to zero. This became possible by having absolute faith in God Almighty. By traveling path of absolute truthfulness... human beings finally eliminated their ego (Aham) forever. The moment our ego reduced to zero... our submission to God Almighty became absolute.  As long as human beings had trace of ego aham within... total submission to God Almighty was not possible... prime reason why in present times God could not be reached via path of bhakti yoga (a path that required total submission to God Almighty). Dissolving I of ego forever was a difficult task... something that most human beings on mother earth failed to realize. Unless our I of ego merged with supreme whole (God Almighty himself)... one could never reach God Almighty.  King Janaka (father of Sita in RaMayana) was a true nishkama karma yogi par excellence. Even while living in family and conducting affairs of his kingdom he lived like a true trustee as if nothing ever belonged to him. JRD Tata... the scion of Tata Empire in India always lived like a true nishkama karma yogi that had no parallel in the industrial belt of India. Throughout his life, JRD Tata lived like a trustee... taking care of Tata empire as if everything belonged to God Almighty.

12. Bhagavad Gita on Moksha Salvation On the topic of moksha salvation... Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is absolutely clear. Human beings could reach stage of moksha salvation only by following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. Even man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed finally gained enlightenment and then moksha salvation in their lifetime by following precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism.   The concept of moksha salvation is not new to Hinduism. In India hundreds if not thousands gained enlightenment in the entire history of mankind compared to only two in West... Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed! In West where people believed more in science... reaching stage of enlightenment and finally moksha salvation was difficult to achieve. Moksha salvation can only be achieved by one who had absolute faith in God Almighty all the time.  As per Bhagavad Gita moksha salvation is the stage when after gaining absolute purity... a soul atman left for kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism). Moksha salvation is gained after reaching stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). Religious followers who had no

Page 23: Bhagabat Geeta

inkling about precepts of spirituality did not know anything about moksha salvation. Such human beings never reached God in their lifetime. A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  To reach stage of moksha salvation... Bhagavad Gita advocates following path of pure spirituality. To know our true inner self... to realize our inner self... to realize our soul atman, the spirit within... undertaking spiritual journey was mandated by God Almighty. By indulging in sacred scriptures of different religions of world human beings step-by-step eradicated dross impurities within their soul atman. The moment karma negated to zero... one finally reached stage of enlightenment forever!  After reaching stage of moksha salvation... the liberated soul atman entered kingdom of God (never kingdom of heaven). The kingdom of heaven is an interim place for souls' atmans to hibernate when matching parents were not available on mother earth. None could go to kingdom of heaven bodily. Kingdom of heaven existed in center of sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. It is in such high temperatures all souls atmans felt comfortable.  For human beings to reach stage of moksha salvation... Bhagavad Gita advises taking path of absolute truthfulness. That was how human beings finally succeeded in negating their karma to zero which was a slow long drawn process. Karma can only be negated to zero by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. In a world dominated by bloated egos... practising pure spirituality almost seemed next to impossible.  Only an ardent seeker of spirituality like Swami Vivekananda finally succeeds in purifying self. Control on five senses and mind needs many life cycles of varying manifestations by our soul atman, the spirit within. By practising patience, persistence and perseverance at its level best... human beings slowly moved ahead on spiritual scale. Spirituality almost demands hundred percent perfection in everything one indulged!  Control on senses can still be achieved easily but establishing control on mind power takes time. Sage Vishwamitra... a highly accomplished saint of his era on sighting a maiden woman in forlorn circumstances in deep dense jungles (forests) fell from grace. He had to repeat practice of celibacy all over again. To maintain a positive attitude in life all the time is really difficult in present scientific age... present Kali Yuga... Dark Age... metal age!  By maintaining a positive flow of thoughts all the time human beings slowly and in stages established control over hidden inhibitions of lust and power. By exercising free will at its best... human beings finally established control over five senses and mind. Establishing control over mind power was the last factor before human beings gained enlightenment forever. Gaining control over mind power means reaching stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... when not a single thought entered our brain uninvoked. It was stage of pure bliss experienced by an enlightened one.

13. Bhagavad Gita on Marriage Marriage was a very sacrosanct institution and Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism fully supports it. However for traveling spiritual path it was practice of Brahmacharya Vrata (bachelorhood) that was advocated by Bhagavad Gita. While remaining in Grihastha ashram (family life) it was extremely difficult to follow spiritual principles of life. Even Swami Vivekananda, an ardent follower of spirituality remained a bachelor throughout his life.   Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa practiced spirituality while in Grihastha ashram. He treated his consort Ma Sharda as goddess. For a spiritual traveler... earthly relationships carried no meaning. For a true traveler of spirituality... the whole world was one big family. Unable to distinguish one from another... a serious seeker of spirituality always treated different human beings equally. None was bigger than the other... was the surmise!  A traveler of spirituality can always marry but there was a limit to sexual indulgences. As per Bhagavad Gita maximum of two indulgences per month were permitted (one was desirable). As per Bhagavad Gita sexuality was purely meant for progeny... never personal entertainment. Married people often found it difficult to pursue spiritual path. If our goal of life was reaching God in present life... it is desirable not to marry.

Page 24: Bhagabat Geeta

Traveling path of spirituality demanded highest level of patience, persistence and perseverance that could ever be practiced by human beings. Most human beings world over failed on these parameters of life. Easily said than done... as a married person it was extremely difficult to pursue path of pure spirituality. I say this from my personal experience. Until I realized God, I was totally aloof from married life... never attaching self to karma performed.  However, as my family grew... I found notes of discord in my children. They did not approve of my spiritual travel. For them I was a failure in physical manifest life. Even though I did my best... I failed to satisfy my children through discussions. I know it was all my fault but I had to reach God in present life. If my family suffered on this account, I had no other alternative! I always prayed to God Almighty to take care of my family in times of need.  Traveling path of spirituality is traveling path of inner self... our soul atman, the spirit within! For a spiritual traveler bondages of earthy manifest life truly carried no meaning. One was all the time immersed in thoughts of God Almighty... contemplating God Almighty. Having married... one just could not leave circumstances to chance as did Siddhartha Gautama. Just by touching feet of wife and child... one does not absolve self of karma forever.  Karma is not dissolved in entirety that way. For this act, Siddhartha Gautama suffered all his life... so much so that he gained enlightenment at the ripe age of 81 when his body was frail and decaying. After gaining enlightenment Siddhartha Gautama did not live much longer. He left his mortal frame soon after.  To cut across shackles of karma was not easy and more so when married. Karma can only be extinguished by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. Sitting under a bodhi tree for 12 years in continuation... Siddhartha Gautama finally gained enlightenment. Journey of enlightenment for Siddhartha Gautama was one of confusion and heartbreak. No matter how best he tried... he could not unveil precepts of spirituality in the early stages of life.

14. Bhagavad Gita Celibacy Practice of celibacy is integral part of spiritual life... something no spiritual traveler could do without. As per Bhagavad Gita unless one practiced celibacy in totality... one could never reach stage of enlightenment ever. However, meaning of celibacy... definition of celibacy was wrongly understood by most human beings world over.   Act of celibacy does not mean abstention from a sexual relationship. Celibacy as per Hinduism Bhagavad Gita had a very broad underlying aspect. Stopping flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what absolute celibacy all about. One could never reach stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi (stage of absolute nothingness) in absence of practice of celibacy.  Pure celibacy can only be practiced by one who indulged in karma... nishkama karma way! How many religious preachers... so-called spiritual masters do we find in everyday life who were perfect nishkama karma yogi and also practiced celibacy as intended by sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism? The numbers could be counted on fingers.  Practice of celibacy was so difficult that in the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only two spiritual masters Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in gaining enlightenment. Travellers of both religious and spiritual path... Sri Aurobindo, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Acharya Rajneesh (née Osho)... even Paramhansa Yogananda... all failed to gain enlightenment in their lifetime.  Most human beings in life tried to read Bhagavad Gita literally. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita could never be assimilated literally... it demands reading in between the lines. By following path of spirituality as explicitly detailed in Bhagavad Gita... one could easily understand wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. Initially one may not be able to follow inner meaning of every shloka verse but with passage of time... the hidden inner meaning of all shlokas verses unveiled before us.

Page 25: Bhagabat Geeta

It was practice of celibacy that finally led human beings towards gaining enlightenment in present life. In normal course of life human beings required many manifestations by our soul atman to reach stage of liberation (Mukti in Hinduism) but by strict practice of celibacy... something that was destined to be understood in many manifestations... becomes crystal clear to us in present life. Celibacy was like taking the elevator instead of normal long winding steps.  Broadly speaking... every moment thousands of thoughts flowed into our brain incessantly. Some thoughts were positive... others negative! By establishing absolute control over five senses human beings finally stopped incessant flow of negative thoughts to the brain. This finally resulted in human beings reaching stage of absolute nothingness (termed stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi). When flow of negative thoughts to our brain stopped in totality... we were able to monitor flow of positive thoughts also. Reaching Nirvikalpa Samadhi stage is the goal of most spiritual seekers.  After reaching stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... moment human beings left mortal frame, one finally gained moksha salvation forever.

15. Bhagavad Gita Classes Can a religious preacher or so-called spiritual master effectively conduct Bhagavad Gita classes or impart Bhagavad Gita lessons; one who had not yet reached God... gained enlightenment in life! It was just impossible for anyone to effectively organize Bhagavad Gita classes or Bhagavad Gita lessons as teachings of Bhagavad Gita could never be understood literally.   Bhagavad Gita Hinduism demands reading in between the lines. Only a perfect Karma Yogi... one of the likes of Swami Vivekananda was fit to be spiritual master, a spiritual guru to conduct Bhagavad Gita classes. None lower in intellect than Swami Vivekananda could successfully impart Bhagavad Gita lessons to serious seekers of spirituality.  The path of spirituality is not that easily traveled. For reaching our true inner self... for reaching our soul atman, the spirit within one need becoming an absolutely truthful person in life. Unless one followed path of absolute truthfulness always and ever... one could never understand what Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was all about.  For indulging in any sacred scripture... for understanding gist of Bhagavad Gita our following path of nishkama karma yoga was absolutely necessitated. Offering fruits of all karma performed to God Almighty all the time was a difficult task. Most human beings world over failed on this parameter of life. Mounted with a bloated ego, most human beings world over never wanted to let go fruits of karma performed! After all accumulating material riches was the goal of most.  There is no dearth of literal geeta lessons available free all over Internet. I receive many queries from people world over that they read Bhagavad Gita many times but failed to gain any lesson out of it. Why people fail must be analyzed critically. My observation says most people failed to understand lessons of Bhagavad Gita because they were not totally truthful in life. Furthermore, they did not indulge in nishkama karma yoga as ordained in Bhagavad Gita.  Having realized God in 1993... It is my advice to spiritual people world over to become truthful in life. Surrender to God Almighty in totality only became possible by traveling path of nishkama karma yoga. Path of bhakti yoga demanded total surrender to God Almighty which in present times is almost impossible to achieve. Only an ardent seeker of spirituality like Swami Vivekananda can accomplish the impossible.

16. Books on Bhagavad Gita

Almost unlimited books on Bhagavad Gita are available in the market... both in print and e-form. Some are commentaries... others summaries but most books on Bhagavad Gita available in market had literal translation of scriptural text that did not get us anything in life. Such books on Gita carried no meaning in spiritual world.

Page 26: Bhagabat Geeta

Commentary on Bhagavad Gita by Adi Shankaracharya was sacred as it contained truth but only truth. But commentaries by those who had not yet gained enlightenment in their lifetime simply carried no meaning. Literal reading of Bhagavad Gita never led one to God Almighty. Unless we contemplated on inner meaning of every shloka verse... we never gained anything out of Gita.  Whenever we read a book relating to Bhagavad Gita... we must contemplate on each and every issue detailed in the book. Those who never indulged in contemplation followed path of religion... path of rituals that never led to God Almighty. Bhagavad Gita explicitly states... God Almighty could never be reached via path of religion... rituals. It is in our interest to travel path of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism to reach God.  Every book on Bhagavad Gita written by an enlightened one carried weightage! Primarily, we must follow the path... rather duplicate the path undertaken by enlightened ones. It is by following spiritual path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age!  Throughout my life, I have tried to glance through myriads of books relating to Bhagavad Gita. In my 50 years of spiritual travail I have yet to find a book that was written by an ordinary mortal... commoner and following which human beings gained enlightenment. As a commoner, one from masses it is extremely difficult to follow precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita.  People wait to meet a spiritual master to guide them in their spiritual journey of life. Such was never to be. No spiritual master would accept one as a pupil... a worthy student unless one reached a particular stage on path of pure spirituality. It is not merit of spiritual master that is at stake but capability of student that is in question.  Before writing a book on Bhagavad Gita human beings must realize that misguiding people never lead to anything. One must attempt to write a book on Bhagavad Gita only if one gained enlightenment in present life. As cosmic life of human beings is controlled by inscrutable laws of karma... we must always indulge in acts that precipitated Punya karma.  The original book of Bhagavad Gita... the original doctrine of Bhagavad Gita is only available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India that had many versions of Bhagavad Gita available for sale. The original Bhagavad Gita with English transliteration is good for those who preferred reading Gita in English language. Gita press, Gorakhpur, India had many publications for Hindi speaking people.  One must always prefer to choose primary Sanskrit edition that contained English or Hindi transliteration. One need not possess knowledge of Sanskrit for understanding Bhagavad Gita. The publications relating to Bhagavad Gita by Gita press, Gorakhpur, India are the best in world. They are not only highly subsidized but contained undiluted copy of Bhagavad Gita.

17. Original Bhagavad Gita

The original Bhagavad Gita... the original doctrine of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit that was given to mankind by Lord Krishna is available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. The original gist of Bhagavad Gita is in Sanskrit. For a knower of English one need not indulge in Sanskrit. The original Bhagavad Gita with English transliteration is available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India.   Referring original work of Bhagavad Gita had its advantages. The original doctrine of Bhagavad Gita available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India had not diluted with time. Most Hinduism scriptures available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India are available in their original form and had not diluted with time. It is not within the capability of Hindus to mould the original scripture.  Rather, Hindus never tend to dilute original sacred teachings; which is contrary to what happened with sacred Bible and Koran. In present times... one could never find original teachings of Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammed. With passage of time... vested interests diluted the same for their own benefit. Many interpretations of Bible and Koran were available world over.

Page 27: Bhagabat Geeta

There are many translations, summaries and commentaries of Bhagavad Gita available world over but, original Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit always remains available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. Any human being world over can get original gist of Bhagavad Gita with English transliteration for as little as $.60 (Rs. 30/=). This is a highly subsidized publication for benefit of mankind.  One who could contemplate... one who had power to understand inner meanings of sacred teachings must always indulge in original Bhagavad Gita. Reading totally pure scriptural texts available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India is an absolute wonder. Every shloka verse of Hindu sacred scriptures was full of jnana (wisdom) that had no parallel in mankind.  The original gist of Bhagavad Gita, various Upanishads (independent treatises), different Vedas, epic Mahabharata and RaMayana... all were available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. They have a website presence and books can be ordered by post.  I am presently writing a commentary on Bhagavad Gita. Whenever I indulge in original text of Bhagavad Gita... I not only feel overwhelmed but totally intoxicated by extent of jnana (wisdom) contained in various shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita. To fathom depth of original Bhagavad Gita was not easy... only an enlightened one was competent to faithfully indulge in Bhagavad Gita.

18. Writer of Bhagavad Gita

For those who had little idea about Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... the writer of Bhagavad Gita differs from author of Bhagavad Gita. Why? The composer and writer of Bhagavad Gita is Veda Vyasa... one who scripted Bhagavad Gita. During times of Lord Krishna... one who gave doctrine of Bhagavad Gita to mankind Lipi (the written word) was not in existence.   It was only around second century BCE, when Lipi (written script) came into existence... Veda Vyasa composed the sacred Bhagavad Gita. The author of Bhagavad Gita has always been Lord Krishna... an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form). As voluminous Vedas (Hinduism revelations) were unclear to mankind... Lord Krishna reduced essence of Vedas to Bhagavad Gita.  With coming of Bhagavad Gita, Dharma (righteousness) took its footing on mother earth. People finally realized it was only following teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita human beings could reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). With coming of Bhagavad Gita... also termed Vedanta (end of Vedas)... the need for human beings to indulge in different Vedas ceased to exist.  The sermon of Bhagavad Gita was given by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata as a classic example to re-establish Dharma (righteousness) against evil forces of adharma (lawlessness). The sermon of Bhagavad Gita can only be delivered by an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form)... and never an enlightened one... a bodhi... a Jina... a Mahavira.  All initial sacred scriptures were direct revelations from God Almighty. During times of Vedas... the gist of entire Vedas got transferred to upcoming generations through word of mouth. Veda primarily means... spoken through the mouth (Ved stands for spoken word). For generations... the wisdom of Vedas percolated to masses through word of mouth.  Whence came Lipi (written script)... learned sages and saints of different era reduced wisdom of Vedas to writing. But voluminous in nature... wisdom contained in Vedas was incomprehensible to the masses. With coming of Lord Krishna... the wisdom of scriptures became available to masses. Veda Vyasa is also composer and writer of most revered epic Mahabharata.  Scriptural texts primarily are revelations from God Almighty. The authors of these revelations were sages and saints of different era. After evolution of Lipi (written script)... there were many writers (sages and saints of different era) who composed and wrote the presently available scriptural texts. The teachings of sacred scriptures reached masses only after evolution of Lipi... not before.

19. Discourses on Bhagavad Gita

Page 28: Bhagabat Geeta

World over many religious people indulged in discourses on Bhagavad Gita. Those who did not understand even ABCD of spirituality... how could such people deliver discourses on Bhagavad Gita cheating gullible people world over. What after all such people gained in life... what were they trying to accomplish? As detailed in Bhagavad Gita... path of spirituality could never be traveled via path of religion... path of rituals!   For understanding teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita... path of spirituality was mandated by God Almighty. As per Bhagavad Gita... journey of life belonged to our soul atman, the spirit within and never the manifest physical human form. As our soul atman, the spirit within was governing, to understand essence of soul atman within... path of spirituality was an absolute necessity... something any spiritual traveler could never do without. A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  Path of spirituality directly led human beings to their soul atman, the spirit within. As our soul atman, the spirit within is God Almighty in miniscule form... if we reached our soul atman, the spirit within... it directly meant we reached God Almighty. Realizing our true inner self... realizing God... gaining enlightenment... all meant the same in spiritual realm.  Only those discourses on Bhagavad Gita must be attended that were delivered by enlightened souls... human beings who gained enlightenment in their lifetime. It is difficult to find an enlightened one in personal life but we always had ample literature relating to enlightened ones like Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana.  Indulging in books and literature relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana was equivalent of attending discourses on Bhagavad Gita. By following precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita human beings finally gained enlightenment in their lifetime. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana gained enlightenment.  Following footsteps of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... any human being world over could easily reach stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). It would not be out of context to say... why not duplicate path followed by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana... the two spiritual stalwarts who gained enlightenment in their lifetime!  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was a medium to reach stage of enlightenment in present life time. Path of spirituality as detailed in Bhagavad Gita was difficult to follow. However, pursuing path undertaken by Swami Vivekananda any human being world over could reach stage of enlightenment. It is a different matter that Swami Vivekananda did not gain enlightenment in his lifetime. The goal of life for Swami Vivekananda was community service and in that he excelled.

20. Brahman Bhagavad Gita

God Almighty termed Brahman in Hinduism is integral part of Bhagavad Gita. In absence of Brahman... Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism carried no meaning. As per Bhagavad Gita if human beings existed... so did souls atmans, the spirit within! Existence of souls' atmans in cosmic life cycle invariably proved existence of God Almighty (Brahman) in cosmic system In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  As per Bhagavad Gita, Brahman of Hinduism was that singularity in the beginning of cosmos... the size of half a thumb that resulted in creation of present cosmos. Unless Brahman (the cluster of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form) explodes self with a big bang... the present cosmos could never form.  The size of Brahman... God Almighty in all its cosmic glory was the size of half a thumb. Devoid of dross impurities within... all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form occupied the volume of half a thumb. This magnanimous primordial cosmic energy unable to contain itself for long in its prime pure state... again explodes with a big bang... resulting in formation of present cosmos.

Page 29: Bhagabat Geeta

The big bang theory was not new to Hinduism. The precepts of big bang theory existed in explicit detail in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism that came into existence above 3600 years before now. The doctrine of Bhagavad Gita was given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata that occurred above 3600 years before now.  Even though everything relating to big bang theory existed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... scientists’ world over still put forward various arguments about the concept of big bang theory. Not all scientists world over have accepted creation of present cosmos through big bang theory. Albert Einstein, the famous scientist... the moment he indulged in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism came to know that it was Brahman (God Almighty) that was the cause of big bang theory.  Precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita proved beyond doubt that it was God Almighty (Brahman in Hinduism) that exploded self to form present cosmos. God Almighty, Brahman... cluster of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form was not the form of human beings. To visualize concept of Brahman, god Almighty... our indulgence in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism was necessitated. Spiritual travellers understood concept of big bang theory better than scientists’ world over. Precepts of spirituality can never be understood through lens of science.  If we truly desire understanding what Brahman Hinduism is all about then our indulgence in teachings of Bhagavad Gita was an absolute must. As spirituality starts from the point where science ends... it was difficult for scientists world over to understand gist of Bhagavad Gita.

21. Bhagavad Gita Upanishads

Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads (independent treatises) of Hinduism are integrally connected. Practically all Upanishads deal with mystical... philosophical concepts detailed in Bhagavad Gita. After advent of Bhagavad Gita by Lord Krishna... different sages and saints of different era contemplated on precepts of spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita resulting in compilation of Upanishads! Every Upanishad rotated around a particular spiritual topic detailing everything relating to that subject.   Whatever is contained in Upanishads is also contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. But whatever is contained in Bhagavad Gita does not exist in single Upanishad or Veda. Upanishads truly are great philosophical treatises that independently deal with different aspects of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita!  For gaining enlightenment jnana (wisdom) contained in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism sufficed. However, contemplation on jnana (wisdom) contained in various Upanishads was of great help. Hinduism consisted of many Upanishads... totaling almost above 180. But primary nine Upanishads were the most referred to. Some Upanishads contained examples that facilitated understanding of deep philosophical underlying meaning.  The primary nine Upanishads consisted of Katha Upanishad, Kena Upanishad, Isa Upanishad, Prashna Upanishad, Mundaka Upanishad, Mandukya Upanishad, Aitreya Upanishad, Taittiriya Upanishad and Shwetashwatara Upanishad. Apart from above nine Upanishads, Chandogya Upanishad and Brihadarankya Upanishad were also very important.  Every single Upanishad emanated after advent of Bhagavad Gita and were composed and written by an enlightened soul. Unless one gained enlightenment... discussing precepts contained in Bhagavad Gita was not possible. One who had absolute knowledge was competent to indulge in sacred texts resulting in compilation of various Upanishads (independent treatises).  Every single Upanishad is supportive of precepts of spirituality contained in Bhagavad Gita. Reading Upanishads along with Bhagavad Gita definitely helped spiritual travellers cut short the journey. Whatever was contained in Upanishads was as deep as jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita. Like Bhagavad Gita... the underlying meaning of precepts contained in Upanishads could never be understood literally. One had to understand the underlying meaning of precepts contained in Upanishads by learning to read in between the lines.

Page 30: Bhagabat Geeta

Lucky are those who in the early stages of life realized the importance of jnana wisdom contained in Upanishads.

22. Bhagavad Gita Vedas

Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism is also termed Vedanta... end of Vedas! Why? When the voluminous Vedas... the four primary Vedas (Hinduism revelations)... Rig Veda, Sama Veda, Yajur Veda and Atharva Veda remained incomprehensible to masses for very long periods of time... came Lord Krishna... an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form).   Lord Krishna juiced all the relevant jnana wisdom contained in Vedas and produced Bhagavad Gita... the sermon that was given to mankind in the battle of Mahabharata between Pandava and Kaurava Kings. Whatever was essential and relevant in Vedas was now available to mankind in a concise form... namely sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism!  Vedas (Hinduism revelations) were invoked by learned sages and saints directly from God Almighty. The term Vedas is derived from Veda (the spoken word). As Lipi (the written script) had not yet evolved... jnana wisdom contained in Vedas spread to mankind through word of mouth... orally! For many centuries this tradition of oral transmission continued unabated.  During second century BCE when Lipi (the written script) evolved... competent sages and saints reduced oral transmission to writing. And finally all the Vedas and Bhagavad Gita came into existence in written form. All Upanishads (independent treatises) were also reduced to writing. With availability of written form, Hinduism gained a better footing in spiritual world.  All the primary Vedas, Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita gained extreme popularity world over. Many philosophers from West indulged in sacred teachings of Bhagavad Gita. Although jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita was beyond reach of philosophers of West... they however wrote translations, summaries... commentaries only to please their ego.  Teachings of Vedas and Vedanta (Bhagavad Gita) could never be understood, followed by those who wanted to weigh spiritual wisdom on scales of science. Literal grasp of primary principles of life by various philosophers of West meant little in spiritual world. Unless one contemplated on jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita or Upanishads... one could never reach source of all wisdom contained in cosmos.  Whatever is contained in Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads does not relate to philosophy and for this primary reason spiritual matters were beyond speculation by philosophers’ world over. How many philosophers world over do we think understood gist of Bhagavad Gita... perhaps none! Amongst the scientific fraternity also... it was only Albert Einstein who finally assimilated some teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita.  Vedas primarily dealt with rituals. During times of Lord Krishna... sacrifices lost their meaning. Contemplation took place of sacrifices and yagnas'. Bhagavad Gita laid more stress on karma yoga, bhakti yoga and jnana yoga than rituals contemplated in various Vedas. With coming of Bhagavad Gita... path of self enquiry, path of Neti (not this, not this) took firm footing.  Coming of Lord Krishna was a boon for mankind. Lord Krishna not only succeeded in re-establishing Dharma (righteousness) but also gave to entire mankind much needed reprieve in form of teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita. Both ethical and moral principles of life are explicitly detailed in Bhagavad Gita. In a nutshell... sermon of Bhagavad Gita contained truth but only truth.

23. Bhagavad Gita Big Bang Theory

The concept of origin of present cosmos through big bang exists in explicit detail in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. The sacred Bhagavad Gita exists since more than 3600 years when sermon of Gita was delivered to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata. Scientists’ world over finally concluding origination of present cosmos from big bang is not new to Hinduism.

Page 31: Bhagabat Geeta

As teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita were beyond purview of science... scientists world over could never understand details of big bang theory contained in Bhagavad Gita. For understanding anything relating to Bhagavad Gita... one needs contemplation in matters spiritual. Unless we had the ability to travel path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom)... one could never understand gist of Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism contained everything from A to Z of cosmos.  Right from stage of big bang... when God Almighty (Brahman in Hinduism) explodes self... to dissolution of cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism)... all is available in Bhagavad Gita in explicit detail. The journey of 8.4 million manifestations by our soul atman, the spirit within has been fully detailed in Bhagavad Gita... so much so that human beings can easily reach stage of enlightenment by indulging in jnana (wisdom) contained in Bhagavad Gita.  In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  As detailed in Bhagavad Gita... when dissolution of old cosmos occurred... volume of entire cosmos reduced to size of half a thumb. This mass of cosmic energy... the size of half a thumb... the collective power of all souls’ atmans in cosmos in their purified form is what we called Brahman (God Almighty)! This magnanimous primordial cosmic energy... size of half a thumb unable to retain itself for long in its prime pure state again explodes with a big bang.  The big bang theory... existence of souls' atmans in cosmos proved beyond doubt existence of God Almighty. To know God... we only had to believe in God. Any precept of spirituality can only be understood rightly when we were truthful in life. For human beings to indulge in Bhagavad Gita... path of spirituality was mandated by God Almighty.  As Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism contained everything from A to Z of life... it is in our interest as a human being to travel spiritual path and reach cosmic end of journey... stage of enlightenment at the earliest!  After occurrence of big bang... all pure souls’ atmans in cosmos spread all over cosmos at unimaginable speeds. In the melee, the hurtling souls' atmans gathered impurities similar as a rolling ball gathers moss. To cleanse self of dross impurities within starts cosmic life cycle of every soul atman. It is only through chain of 8.4 million manifestations... every soul atman finally reached cosmic end of life, 8.4 millionth manifestation when human beings gained enlightenment!  Out of 8.4 million manifestations on the whole, the later 1.1 million manifestations by our soul atman occurred in human form. Does it mean for human beings to reach stage of enlightenment... our soul atman needed a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations... yes, the cosmic truth is so!  God Almighty, big bang theory, the world of souls atmans... all are integrally connected as per Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. God bless those who truly searched for God in their present life.  Having realized God in 1993... Basics of life have become like ABCD to me. The gist of entire Bhagavad Gita also has become like ABCD. I could indulge in theory of big bang much better than most scientists’ world over who are still unable to connect big bang theory to God Almighty, the singularity that existed at the time of big bang.

24. Bhagavad Gita on Women

As per Bhagavad Gita women held special status on mother earth, in the cosmic system! Unless mother earth obliged... unless women obliged... there would be no progeny on mother earth... life would become meaningless... decay and die! In absence of mother earth... no soul atman could ever manifest life. It is for this primary reason... a goddess is more respected than God. Still, the power of God Almighty (termed Brahman in Hinduism) was supreme.   As per Bhagavad Gita existence of men and women, souls' atmans and mother earth was essential for life to continue in cosmic system. In absence of one... the other simply carried no value. As women held special status in society... men making a mockery of them was an absolute sin that carried no

Page 32: Bhagabat Geeta

pardon. Any human being... any man who sinned against women was never forgiven by God Almighty. One must always learn to respect women... no matter what their fault!  A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  As per Bhagavad Gita... respect of women was always one-sided. Even if they committed fault... they were to be forgiven for the same... so was ordained by God Almighty. As per doctrine of karma... our bad karma always boomeranged on us. It was not for man to judge a woman. For their folly, for one's own folly... one always suffered as per law of karma. Why must men interfere in working of women?  You go to USA... even many parts of Europe, Canada or Australia. The respect for ladies is laudable. On the contrary you go to Middle East including Pakistan and Afghanistan. The plight of ladies is abominable. The respect for ladies in these parts of world was not only below standard... they were primarily treated almost at par with animals. The term self respect was only confined to men... ladies were all the time abhorred by men, even children.  As per Bhagavad Gita... men in Middle East countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan are bound to suffer at hands of God Almighty. Those who mistreated ladies always suffered at hands of God Almighty... so say almost all hinduism scriptures. As men we must learn to respect ladies... as they represented mother earth and inhabited she form for sake of progeny. Apart from being a beautiful partner... they were truly an embodiment of mother goddess from within.  Life on mother earth in absence of women carried no meaning. All ladies on mother earth must always be treated equal in all respects. Those who thought otherwise... were not only mistaken but totally misguided. Such thinking results from fundamentalist tendencies... something that had no place in civilized society as per Bhagavad Gita.

25. Bhagavad Gita Quotes Mind

As per Bhagavad Gita... mind of the whole cosmos was one. It only had two compartments... mind plus and mind minus. All positive thoughts in cosmos flowed from reservoir of mind plus... negative thoughts from reservoir of mind minus. Human beings only had a brain that worked as a receiving and transmitting station. Based on our balance of karma of the moment... we invoked both positive and negative thoughts.   Our soul atman, the spirit within lived on a frequency much above that of mental waves. When a soul atman finally got liberated from cycle of birth and death forever... it traveled all over cosmos at frequencies much higher than that of mind. Thought waves traveled on a frequency much higher than that of light. For all practical purposes... the frequency of thought waves was almost infinity. As per Bhagavad Gita... a liberated soul atman was free to travel anywhere in cosmos.   A soul is called atman in Hinduism.  It is mind power that facilitates communication between human beings... between human beings and animals and other lower forms of life. As human beings scaled higher brackets of spiritual life... they used much higher mental frequencies than used by normal human beings. At this stage... one experienced intermittent stages of total bliss that could never be expressed in words. Traveling higher levels of mental wavelengths is slowly nearing god step-by-step.  The general assumption that human beings had an independent mind results from our ignorance in matters spiritual. Every human being worked like an independent transistor... a radio! Based on our karma... we could all the time invoke every single thought floating in ether. People with positive bent of mind invoked positive thoughts from reservoir of mind plus and those with a negative attitude all the time invoked negative thoughts that led nowhere.  It has rightly been said, a human being is the sum total of all ones thoughts at a given moment of time. As per this analogy... it is in our interest as human beings to follow path of positive thinking all the time. Only then could we successfully travel spiritual path that directly led to God Almighty. The power of truthfulness emanates from our remaining positive all the time. We just could not become a

Page 33: Bhagabat Geeta

judge when dealing with others. Every human being had ones own prerogative to follow chosen principles of life. We just could not blame God Almighty for our destiny.  At no stage of life could a human being blame God Almighty for sufferings experienced in life. All was dependent on our karma of present and past. If we erred or indulged in negative thinking in past... how could our future be bright? Human beings kept blaming God Almighty for their woes/sufferings in life all the time... never wanting to realize that essence of life laid in karma performed. Just by molding our karma we could manifest destiny forever.  Understanding difference between mind power and working of brain, human beings could not only undertake spiritual journey easily but also manifest life forever. When young, I came to understand this difference between mind power and working of brain. Using this to my benefit... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age. We had to become absolute master and controller of life by establishing absolute control over mind power.  Initially it seems extremely difficult but with passage of time, remaining truthful and positive all the time human beings finally took charge of life forever. On path of pure spirituality there could be delays as we traveled totally uncharted path with none to guide. By hit and trial method one finally reached firm conclusions making life easier.

26. Bhagavad Gita on Suffering

Sufferings as per Bhagavad Gita resulted from indulgence in bad karma. Prompted by a bloated ego most human beings one time or other indulged in activities not conforming to our intellect. We may not desire bad of someone yet, at times... we definitely did! This indulgence results in our suffering immediately or at a later date. To avoid suffering in future... our indulgence in good karma, positive karma all the time was necessitated.   What of bad karma indulged by us in past or previous manifestations. As per Bhagavad Gita... the human form... the human journey was only a temporary sojourn in the entire life cycle of soul atman, the spirit within! Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism says... journey of life always belonged to our soul atman, the spirit within and never the manifest human form! Our soul atman, the spirit within manifested human form to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within!  Moment dross impurities within a soul atman removed permanently forever... human being is said to have reached stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism)! From first manifestation to last... effort of every soul atman remained... removal of dross impurities within. As per Bhagavad Gita... it is not within the capability of a soul atman to purify itself. It needs a medium... a body to work out its karma... remove dross impurities within!  Similar as one KG of pure gold embedded in hundred KG of gold ore could not separate self of its own and needs requisite mining machinery and processes... a soul atman in its cosmic life cycle also required a chain of 8.4 million bodies to purify itself completely. Of these 8.4 million manifestations on the whole... the last 1.1 million manifestations by a soul atman occurred in human form. Does it mean... for human beings to reach stage of enlightenment... our soul atman needs a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations... yes, the cosmic truth is so!  A soul is termed atman in Hinduism.  Prompted by a bloated ego whenever we indulged in wrongdoings... bad karma, we suffered! One could get away from the vicious cycle of bad karma by indulging in pious deeds that included intermittent prayers to God Almighty. But the problem is... how many people world over knew the right way to pray! Most prayers world over went unheeded... unanswered by God Almighty! Every single prayer that had a vested interest was not answered by God Almighty... so was how life on mother earth ordained by God Almighty.  Apart from our present indulgence in bad karma... wrongdoings, we may have also have indulged in bad karma in past or previous manifestations! To get out of clutches of bad karma indulged in previous manifestations was a difficult task... as most people world over did not know mantra for the

Page 34: Bhagabat Geeta

same. A portion of karma that did not manifest immediately is termed Prarabdha Karma in Hinduism. This portion of karma termed Prarabdha karma could manifest any given moment of time in present life or many manifestations henceforth.  Most human beings suffered in present life owing to existence of a residual balance of negative karma from previous manifestations. We can negate the residual balance of negative karma from past only by indulgence in positive karma... good karma in present! There was totally no escape from this vicious cycle of karma. If we desire a joyous journey ahead in future... we must always indulge in good karma, positive karma in present manifestation.  We just could not expect mangoes to grow on a guava tree. Law of karma says... as we sow so shall we reap, nothing less or more! Believing in law of karma... indulgence in good karma, positive karma all the time finally results in reducing sufferings in present and future. Karma was that inherent ingredient of cosmic system that facilitates movement of life from one manifestation to another. In absence of karma... life in cosmic system would become stagnant, decay and die.  We could also indulge in saying right prayers to God Almighty to decrease sufferings in present life. By asking forgiveness from God Almighty... we could definitely reduce our sufferings. When indulging in bad karma... human beings never think of its effect in future. Only when they suffered in later stages of life... they regretted having indulged in bad karma, wrongdoings!  Every kind of suffering at the hands of fate can be overcome by understanding doctrine of karma as detailed in Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. We must never forget... after death of present physical form... what transfers to next manifestation was residual balance of karma. The closing balance of present life becomes opening balance for next manifestation. The life cycle of soul atman moved precisely like the balance sheet of a chartered accountant.  If the residual balance of present life at the time of death of body demanded our soul atman manifesting new life form in the house of a laborer... we just could not be born a Prince in next manifestation. In the domain of God Almighty there never are free lunches. Everything results from karma performed in present or past. For having a jovial future ahead... for remaining happy all the time... our indulgence in positive karma, good karma was the only way out.  We could not deviate from fixed laws of nature. If we erred in past... sufferings in present life were bound to follow.

27. Bhagavad Gita on Meditation

As per Bhagavad Gita... yoga and meditation meant the same. The Hinduism word for meditation is yoga which is derived from root word "yog" which in Hindi means to synthesize... to yoke... to join (spiritually). The effort of our soul atman, the spirit within to yoke with greater atman, God Almighty himself is termed yoga (meditation in English). Ever since every soul atman separated from God Almighty... it tries rejoining the same at the earliest.   In Hinduism a soul is termed atman.  Yoga meditation was the means, our soul atman reaching God Almighty... the ultimate goal of life! It was through process of yoga meditation human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). Reaching stage of enlightenment meant our soul atman, the spirit within gaining absolute purity forever. This liberated soul atman devoid of dross impurities within finally entered kingdom of God... abode of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism).  Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism detailed in clear terms how indulging in yoga meditation human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment forever. Yoga meditation can be indulged in many ways like... process of self enquiry, path of Neti (not this, not this)... practising pranayama (the correct breathing process)... indulging in karma yoga, bhakti yoga and finally jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom). Karma yoga means indulging in karma, nishkama karma way. Bhakti yoga meant surrender to God Almighty in totality. Path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom was the final path for reaching God in present life.

Page 35: Bhagabat Geeta

Path of jnana yoga (absolute wisdom) meant indulging in self enquiry... path of Neti to reach God! Reaching God in present life time was not that easy... prime reason why God Almighty ordained a journey of 1.1 million manifestations in human form before our soul atman finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever. The moment our karma negated to zero, human beings gained enlightenment forever. Karma can only be negated to zero by establishing absolute control over five senses and mind.  For establishing absolute control over five senses and mind... path of yoga meditation that was necessitated was path of jnana yoga... path of absolute wisdom! Indulging in teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita meant indulging in path of jnana yoga. Any human being world over... just by following principles of life detailed in Bhagavad Gita can ceremoniously follow path of spirituality that finally led to God Almighty. One single scripture... Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism sufficed for human beings reaching stage of enlightenment in present life.  In the present scientific age one need not follow Hinduism Vedas (Hinduism revelations) as yagna and sacrifices were not necessitated in present times. Contemplation on teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita was the only path to reach God in present life. Unless we learnt to contemplate on jnana wisdom contained in various sacred scriptures of different religions of world... we could never reach stage of enlightenment in present life. Those who thought God Almighty could be reached via path of religion... path of rituals were totally mistaken.  This is proved from life of both Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. These two spiritual stalwarts Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana initially started their search of God via path of bhakti yoga. Realizing that God Almighty could not be reached in absence of contemplation... both changed over to path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) to reach God in their lifetime. In the last about 150 years amongst 7 billion people existing world over... only Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally reached God.  I say it with experience that none other than Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana finally succeeded in reaching God in the last about 150 years. One glance at the writings of one and everything becomes clear. Swami Sivananda... Paramhansa Yogananda... Sri Aurobindo... even Swami Vivekananda did not reach stage of enlightenment in their lifetime. Amongst all these travellers of religious and spiritual path, Swami Vivekananda could have easily reached God under able preceptorship of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.  But, goal of life for Swami Vivekananda was serving community to its best. No matter how much Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa goaded Swami Vivekananda to realize God in his lifetime... he refused to part his ways. Swami Vivekananda died at the young age of 39. Every single traveler of spirituality can draw lot of inspiration from life of Swami Vivekananda. Only if we could duplicate achievements of Swami Vivekananda... we could easily reach God in present life. By duplicating path undertaken by Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana, I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age. This is my last manifestation on mother earth.  Path of yoga meditation were many... but most important of all was our willpower. One had to possess the extraordinary willpower exhibited by Swami Vivekananda to reach God... to gain enlightenment in present life! If we sincerely and seriously study spiritual literature relating to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... we could easily unveil hidden secrets of spirituality, knowing which human beings finally reached God. Path of spirituality was tough... totally untrodden still, for an ardent seeker of spirituality... nothing was impossible!  Path of contemplation, path of self enquiry... path of Neti (not this, not this) advocated and followed by Maharishi Ramana was a sure shot method of reaching God in present life. At every stage of spiritual life, contemplation was the only way following which travellers of spiritual path finally succeeded in unveiling pearls of wisdom contained in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. The 700 shlokas verses contained in Bhagavad Gita were priceless, ageless... Having no parallel in mankind! Truly Hinduism was spiritual citadel of world that had scriptures like Bhagavad Gita in its kitty. Other than Bhagavad Gita, the eleven primary Upanishads (independent treatises) were also priceless.

Page 36: Bhagabat Geeta

Human beings can follow any path of meditation yoga to reach God as per convenience. But we must always remember one thing... we had only one life to live, the present earthly sojourn. After death of present body, we do not know what form our soul atman manifests in next life. Leaving things to chance... leaving spiritual life to next manifestation is not intelligent decision. Almost all people I came across in 50 years of spiritual travail emphasized that they intended to follow spiritual life in next manifestation. Those who could not do it now, how can they be expected to follow path of spirituality in next life? One can fool others... but why fool self!

28. Bhagavad Gita Adi Shankaracharya

The original commentary of Adi Shankaracharya on Bhagavad Gita is available in Sanskrit from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India. Anything written by Adi Shankaracharya is invaluable. Adi Shankaracharyas contribution to society in a limited life span of 32 years is overwhelming. At the young age of 15... He completed his commentary on Bhagavad Gita.   Adi Shankaracharya is famously remembered for his doctrine of Advaita Vedanta. Adi Shankaracharya vociferously advocated that Brahman (God Almighty) was the only truth of life. God was one and only one. He also propagated doctrine of Maya (veil of ignorance) according to which it was proved beyond doubt that other than God Almighty nothing existed in cosmos.  Adi Shankaracharya apart from commentary on Bhagavad Gita also wrote extensively on Vedas, Brahma sutras and Upanishads (independent treatises). But all his works are in Sanskrit language which is an impediment for today's society. However those who had some knowledge of Sanskrit can definitely go through his commentary on Bhagavad Gita, Brahma sutras and Upanishads.  It was Adi Shankaracharya who firmly established in spiritual circles that doctrine of Advaita Vedanta was irrefutable proof of existence of God Almighty in cosmic system. Reading his thoughts on doctrine of Maya (veil of ignorance) is truly an eye-opener. One who had absolute faith in God Almighty can surely understand teachings of Adi Shankaracharya in totality.  Mastering Vedas... writing commentary on Bhagavad Gita, Brahma sutras and Upanishads (independent treatises) was something that none before Adi Shankaracharya succeeded in doing. Even though Adi Shankaracharya was a firm believer of Vedas (Hinduism revelations)... he was also a follower of path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom).  His catch of spiritual principles of life was extraordinary. He achieved most even before reaching 20 years of age. This fact made him the spiritual master of his times. The doctrines put forward by Adi Shankaracharya... the logical conclusions proved beyond doubt that he was truly a spiritual genius. Adi Sankara believed in Nirakaar form of God (having no form).  Adi Sankara was a perfect Jnana Yogi... a perfect karma yogi who firmly believed in concept of nishkama karma yoga. Adi Shankaracharya frequently indulged in discourses... debates with like-minded people. His logical thinking finally made him win the end. Adi Shankaracharya was considered one of the greatest thinkers of his times... so much so that none could ever defeat him in extempore debates... discourses!

29. Buy Bhagavad Gita

As a spiritual traveler if I were to buy Bhagavad Gita... I would go for the original copy of Bhagavad Gita... the original dictate given to mankind by Lord Krishna in the battle of Mahabharata. The original gist of Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit along with Hindi or English transliteration is available with Gita press, Gorakhpur, India at a very nominal cost... that did not cover even the basic cost of production. Most of these highly subsidized publications are priced between US $1 and US $2.   I always keep many copies of same editions of Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads (independent treatises) from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India as presently I am writing a commentary on Bhagavad Gita along with Upanishads (independent treatises) like Katha Upanishad, Isha Upanishad and Kena Upanishad

etc. The original texts in Sanskrit and their transliteration in Hindi are of great help. Gita press, Gorakhpur, India is really doing a wonderful job serving the mankind.  Gita press, Gorakhpur, India has many spiritual publications that can greatly benefit travellers of spiritual path. One can choose the right book from a wide variety of publications available. Even original commentaries on Bhagavad Gita, Brahma Sutras and Upanishads by Adi Shankaracharya are invaluable but they are in Sanskrit. If one can learn Hindi... studying Bhagavad Gita available from Gita press, Gorakhpur, India is a wonderful notable experience.  English speaking people also can get couple of original works like Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. Bhagavad Gita especially is available with English transliteration. One who had fundamental knowledge of spiritual terminology would never find it difficult to understand precepts of Bhagavad Gita. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita are truly mesmerizing... prime reason why human beings who follow Bhagavad Gita in totality finally reached stage of enlightenment forever.  Many translations of Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads are available with various oriental publishers in India. The most reputed publishers of Indology books in India were Motilal Banarsidass and Munshiram Manoharlal Publishers Pvt. Ltd. The books on Bhagavad Gita available with Indology publishers were highly priced and most were only translations. However, depending on our pocket and inclination... we could buy any book that satisfied our intellect.

30. Bhagavad Gita Discussion Questions

Questions on Bhagavad Gita... queries on Bhagavad Gita can only be solved in company of an enlightened one... one who is a bodhi, a Jina... which simply means knower of all. None other than an enlightened one could solve our problems relating to Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism. The teachings contained in Bhagavad Gita were sublime, abstract... beyond catch of normal intellect. Spiritual messages to be understood in totality required contemplation all the time.   Most human beings on mother earth want to go easy way. They do not want to indulge in contemplation... path of self enquiry that directly led to God Almighty. Path of contemplation was extremely difficult to follow, prime reason why most human beings preferred path of rituals... path of religion which was comparatively much easier to travel! People failed to realize that God Almighty could not be reached via path of religion... path of rituals!  The best way to solve queries within was indulgence in Satsanga... spiritual forums where like-minded people collected together to cross-examine various aspects of spirituality detailed in Bhagavad Gita. Traveling path of spirituality meant... reducing queries within slowly step-by-step. Attending spiritual congregations, Satsanga, when we get answers to our queries... we felt extremely elated. We almost felt on the top of world.  As questions on Bhagavad Gita can only be resolved through discussions, contemplation... we must indulge in Satsanga at regular intervals. Reading books related to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana is also great help. Both of these spiritual masters indulged in path of contemplation, path of self enquiry to reach God. I get many queries from people world over expressing their difficulty to organize a Satsanga in absence of like-minded people.  It is an absolute fact of life that in present materialistic age... more preference was given to physical manifest life than spiritual inclinations. We most of time pursued path prompted by our ego and remained indulged in rituals, path of religion! God Almighty never existed in clay idols kept in temples. Going to temples, churches or mosques helped only when we indulged in fruitful discussions with other members of congregation.  Why go to a temple, church or mosque if our goal of life was searching God. Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism explicitly says to follow path of jnana yoga (path of absolute wisdom) to understand Bhagavad Gita in totality. Questions, queries relating to 700 shlokas verses of Bhagavad Gita are many... numerous, but if we had the will to succeed in this very life... we shall definitely find solution to our problems and reach God one day! Most spiritual queries had their answer in truth expressed in Bhagavad Gita.

By remaining truthful all the time... by indulging in good karma, positive karma all the time we can travel spiritual path as ordained in Bhagavad Gita. Most human beings underestimated power of absolute truthfulness. Reduced indulgence in vice, negative karma helps one reduce clutter from within. Our thinking process must become absolutely clean and pure. Lesser invocation of negative thoughts... faster we progressed on our spiritual journey.  The secrets of life hidden in Bhagavad Gita can be easily unveiled by seeking company of an enlightened one, one who is knower of all! Most people world over wondered... from where to get the company of an enlightened one! Such human beings... who were totally enlightened were not to be found anywhere. In absence of spiritual master, spiritual progress got stunted, limited! This predicament of not finding a right spiritual master in present times is a difficult proposition.  My advice to all spiritual seekers would always be... search for a spiritual master, a Guru to understand gist of Bhagavad Gita. However, if you fail to find one... assimilate all that was written about Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. Following path undertaken by enlightened ones finally leads to gaining enlightenment in present life. We could never read anything spiritual literally... we had to learn to read in between the lines.  Whether it was wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita or Upanishads (independent treatises)... one could understand scriptural texts only by reading them with an open mind. If we are truthful... the essence of sacred teachings would slowly reach us. By following path of self enquiry... by indulging in contemplation... we can slowly step-by-step proceed ahead on spiritual journey. The path of spirituality is unknown yet, we can finally make it in this life... if we had the will to do or die!

31. Bhagavad Gita on Truth

If Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism were to be defined in a single word... it would simply be "Truth". It is right to say that gist of Bhagavad Gita could only be understood by one who was totally truthful in life. Whoever in this world read Bhagavad Gita many times but could not understand the underlying meaning, that simply indicated... we were not totally truthful in life, as truthful as necessitated for understanding jnana wisdom contained in Bhagavad Gita.   Truthfulness is an important inherent ingredient of human life... in absence of which human beings were no better than animals. Do we ever realize why United States of America is superpower number one? Truthfulness is practiced in United States of America to the core. The glowing faces of masses in America said it all. What was in their heart... reflected on their face! It is an absolute fact of life that face is a reflection of our inner feelings... our real self!  Even though most spiritual scriptures originated in India... spirituality was not practiced in India as it should be. Most Indians were pawn in the hands of fate. We always left things to chance, even our destiny... our karma! Unless we practiced truthfulness all the time... we could never compete with Americans who were perfect human beings as a physical manifest form. The teachings of Bhagavad Gita must reflect on our faces. We must learn to live like human beings.  In 1984, I got an opportunity to migrate to US. But my destiny did not bid so. Under no circumstances I was prepared to leave my loving country. From the bottom of my heart I always believed... with changing times lifestyle of Indians would also change. In coming future with advent of Kalki avatar, India would witness golden era, the golden period. Mankind would witness end of Kali Yuga forever. It was then India would rise from slumber forever.  India truly is a sleeping tiger. It only needs mettle of people like Chanakya (the most able administrator in the entire history of mankind) to change its destiny. With coming of Kalki avatar... one who would be a combination of man God like Mahavira and Chanakya... world would witness a phenomenal change in living conditions world over. The thinking prowess of human beings would witness a dramatic change... something that would usher India to the forefront.  In my appreciating living style of Americans, I was generalizing the issue. Not all are born with virtues... we always had some black sheep in the society. This is the case with all societies,

Page 39: Bhagabat Geeta

communities’ world over. No country of the world is aloof of this problem. It was only in a Satyuga (golden period)... most human beings not only practiced truthfulness but also behaved like good human beings. In present Kali Yuga it has become difficult to differentiate human beings from animals. The whole world seems to have gone materialistic. The glitter of gold attracted all. It is only with coming of Kalki avatar... a messiah, a savior... society would reach its logical end.  Coming of Kalki avatar would announce start of a new chapter... a new Yuga! The present situation world over can be brought under control only by a firm hand. It would be within powers of Kalki Avatar to improve society en masse. Kalki avatar would be an apostle of truth and only truth. Other than truthfulness, sincerity and hard work... nothing would fascinate Kalki Avatar... the awaited savior... messiah! Kalki avatar would finally succeed in re-establishing Dharma (righteousness) in the society. Such would be the power manifest in Kalki Avatar... that he would develop a dedicated following of above 2000 million people worldwide.  Remaining truthful in life had its benefits. One was nearer to God while remaining truthful. When six years of age... I started traveling path of absolute truthfulness. Something within me all the time said... not to leave path of absolute truthfulness, no matter what! As time passed by... my resolve to remain truthful all the time fortified. It is practising truthfulness to core I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age.  Who can understand truthfulness better than a seeker of spirituality! As path of spirituality demanded remaining truthful all the time... travellers of spirituality were always treated like outcasts by society. If remaining truthful had its advantages in spiritual world, it also had disadvantages in the physical manifest world. For a serious seeker of spirituality... workings of physical manifest life carried no meaning. So was proved by Siddhartha Gautama in the early stages of his life when he left for deep dense jungles (forests) to meditate in isolation.  When God Almighty can only be reached via path of absolute truthfulness... why did human beings go to temples, churches or mosques! Almost all human beings indulged in untruthfulness at some stage of life. Unless this stain of untruthfulness was wiped clean... no human being could ever reach stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya jnana in Hinduism). Spiritual journey was never related to workings of physical manifest life.  For human beings to undertake spiritual journey, reach God in present life... path of absolute truthfulness was an absolute must... one could never do without!
