University sanctioned for the 50 strength of volunteers for our unit in 2012-2013. For the academic year 2015-2016 we enrolled 100 volunteers. After the enrollment of 100 volunteers, the NSS activities were conducted for them as per the schedule prepared for academic year 2015-2016. We conducted various activities in the institute with the NSS volunteers. We are happy to mention that, this year our NSS unit participated in State Level Inter University Road Safety Awareness Competition” promoted by Maharashtra State Highway Police and Maharashtra State Ministry of Higher and Technical Education. Also we are participated in National level Adventure Camp held at Narkanda, Dist: Shimla H.P. and State Level NSS Camp held at Solapur Orientation Programme of 2015-16 Batch Orientation programme of NSS volunteers was organized on 17 th August 2015 in the Seminar hall of Institute. Dr. Bhimashankar Birajdar, Solapur was the chief guest. They put the role and responsibilities of NSS volunteers. He said that, NSS is a platform where students can work for the society and develop their own personality. Chief guest was felicitated by Dr. V.S. Mangnale, Director AKIMSS. He also said that, when students are joining NSS they must aware with social problems. NSS Programme Officer Prof. V.N. More put the Aims and Objectives of the NSS in front of Volunteers. Organizational structure, NSS Motto, Awards and Opportunities under NSS are explained by Programme Officer. Welcome address given by Dr. V.S. Mangnale, Director AKIMSS and vote of thanks given by Dr. A.B. Nadaf HOD of Computer Applications. All NSS Volunteers were present at that time.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES REPORT FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015-2016

Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune granted permission to start NSS unit from the academic year 2012-

2013. University sanctioned for the 50 strength of volunteers for our unit in 2012-2013. For the academic

year 2015-2016 we enrolled 100 volunteers. After the enrollment of 100 volunteers, the NSS activities were

conducted for them as per the schedule prepared for academic year 2015-2016. We conducted various

activities in the institute with the NSS volunteers. We are happy to mention that, this year our NSS unit

participated in “State Level Inter University Road Safety Awareness Competition” promoted by

Maharashtra State Highway Police and Maharashtra State Ministry of Higher and Technical Education. Also

we are participated in National level Adventure Camp held at Narkanda, Dist: Shimla H.P. and State

Level NSS Camp held at Solapur

Street Play on “Road Safety Awareness” by NSS Volunteers Street plays for awareness of Road Safety Tips were organized by NSS volunteers in the month of November. The street plays were organized at Big Bazar, Naval Petrol Pump, Shri Siddheswar Mandir, Bharati Vidyapeeth High School & Jr. College and Market Yard Solapur. Message of road safety were given to 5000 peoples from Solapur. All NSS volunteers were actively participated in Street Plays. Street Plays are organized on 8.11.2015, 9.11.2015, 10.11.2015 and 2.12.2015 at above said places.

Celebration of Yoga Day World Yoga Day was celebrated in the institute on 21st June 2015 jointly with Art of Living. Volunteers of Art of Living came for workshop on yoga and pranayam. All teaching, Non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers and all students were actively participated in the yoga shivir.

Participation in University Level Leadership Development Training Program Our Two NSS volunteers are participated in university level leadership development training program organized by Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. The training program was organized at BVU, IMED Pune between 2nd September and 4th September 2015. About 100 volunteers are participated in the training program. Our volunteers Mr. Sadanand Sagar and Dhairshil Rankhamb (MCA 2) are taken participation in all activities of training program.

Awareness of Road Safety Through Digital Banners Awareness of Road Safety made under road safety awareness campaign in the Solapur city and nearby places. Big digital boards were made for awareness in which traffic rules and tips are given with images. Message of road safety given up to 10000 peoples through these banners. These banners were put placed at public places, road sides and public corners of Solapur city and nearby places in the month of November and December 2015.

Awareness of Road Safety Through Posters and Stickers Awareness of Road Safety made under road safety awareness campaign in the Solapur city and nearby posters with road safety messages made for awareness. Posters are released at the hands of Shri. Bajrang Kharmate, Dy. RTO Solapur. These posters are displayed at the public places such as Railway Station ST Stand, Cinema Hall Parking, and Signals etc. by NSS volunteers. Small stickers with road safety tips also prepared and stick on two wheelers, autos, Four wheeler vehicles. Message of road safety given through these posters and stickers up to 10000 drivers and common peoples of Solapur. All NSS volunteers were actively participated.

Survey of Sugar Cane Carrier Tractor Drivers of Jayhind Shugar Pt. Ltd; A survey of Sugar cane Carrier tractor Drivers about knowledge of road safety rules and traffic rules made by NSS volunteers at Jayhind Shugar Pvt. Ltd; Aachegaon Tal: South Solapur on 5.12.2015. This survey conducted among 200 tractor drivers to know about knowledge of road safety rules among them. A well questionnaire was prepared for the survey in which different questions related to road traffic rules were asked. It is found that most of tractor

drivers do not have their driving license; they travel in the night and from long distance. They do not aware about traffic rules.

Intercollegiate Elocution Competition An Intercollegiate elocution competition was organized on 17th October 2015. In competition 69 students from 42 colleges participated. Five different subjects were given for the competition. English, Hindi and Marathi languages were given. First prize won by Sharvari Joshi, A.G. Patil College and Second prize won by Swapnil Jadhav D.H.B. Soni College Solapur. Director, all teaching staff and 429 including NSS volunteers were present.

Intercollegiate Essay Writing Competition An Intercollegiate essay writing competition was organized under road safety awareness on 28th November 2015. In competition 78 students from 46 colleges participated. three different subjects based on road safety awareness were given for the competition. English, Hindi and Marathi languages were given. First prize won by Trupti Desai Chhatrapati Shivaji Night College and Second prize won by Vandana Randive Sangmeshwar College Solapur. All teaching staff and all NSS volunteers were present.

Cleanness Campaign NSS wing of Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences, Solapur organized cleanness campaign in the institute campus on 2nd October 2015 on the occasion of celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. Director Dr. V.S. Mangnale, all teaching, Non-teaching staff and NSS volunteers are actively participated in the cleanness campaign. The message of cleanness given by the volunteers by cleaning institute campus area.

Celebration of National Unity Day : Parent meet As the Central government has decided to observe the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31 as the 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' (National Unity Day) every year, as a mark of tribute to the efforts of the country's first Home Minister to unite India. NSS wing of Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences, Solapur organized parent meet on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Event started by national anthem. Director of institute Dr. V.S. Mangnale has given importance of unity and team work in his inaugural address and paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Parents of all students of MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA and Integrated MCA were present for the meeting. Head of MBA department Prof. P.P. Kothari concluded the event by vote of thanks. All Teaching, Non-teaching staff, Parents and NSS volunteers were present at that time.

Unity Pleadge A pleadge of unity taken by Director, All teaching, Non-teaching staff, parents of students and all NSS volunteers in the seminar hall of institute on 31st of October 2015. Prof. S.C. Maindargi, Asst. Professor of MBA read the pleadge and it is followed by all staff and parents. the oath is given to 89 parents and all teaching, Non-teaching staff.

Participation in National Level Adventure Camp at Narkanda Prof. V.N. More Programme Officer lead the team of Bharati Vidyapeeth University in the natioanl level adventure camp held at Narkanda, Dist: Shimla H.P. between 29th September to 9th October 2015. Team 10 volunters of our university participated in the camp in which two NSS volunteers are from AKIMSS, Solapur. Along with Bharati Vidyapeeth Univeristy other universities namely Shivaji University, Mumbai University, Savitribai Phule Pune University are also participated in the camp.

Road Safety Oath to School Students Oath of Road safety and traffic rules given to the students of Ganesh Naik High School, Chhatrapati Shivaji College, Bharati Vidyapeeth High School Solapur on 3rd, 5th October and 2nd November 2015. Message of road safety was given to 2438 students and 75 teachers from above said schools. All NSS volunteers actively participated in the activity.

Rally on Road Safety Awareness Rally on road safety awareness was organized on 3.12.2015 by NSS volunteers in the Solapur city. Message of road safety and traffic rules given by volunteers through this rally. Rally started from institute and travelled from Asara Road, Sat rasta, Rangbhavan and closed in the institute. Certificates are offered to the participated volunteers at hands of Dr. V.S. Mangnale Director of AKIMSS, Solapur. Message of road safety is given to 5000 peoples of Solapur. All 100 NSS volunteers are actively participated in the rally.

Public Speech by Dy. RTO Solapur A speech was organized on “Road safety Awareness” on 9th December 2015 for the drivers, common peoples and students. Shri Bajrang Kharmate Dy. RTO Solapur was key speaker for the speech. He told importance of traffic rules and road safety. He also told different causes of road accident and their affect on family members. Drivers and common peoples were present. All teaching, Non-teaching staff and students were present for the speech.

PUC Checkup Camp PUC checkup camp was conducted in the institute by the NSS volunteers as part of activity under Road Safety Awareness Drive on 6th November 2015. In this PUC checkup camp about 139 two wheelers, 31 four wheelers were checked. The receipt of checkup given to all drivers and message of PUC checkup given among them. All teaching, Non-teaching staff and NSS volunteers were present at that time.

Online Driving License Training Programme A online driving license training program for the students of our institute was conducted on 14th November 2015 in the seminar hall of institute. Online driving license training was given by Mr. Khalil Dafedar Sr. Technical Support Engineer of our institute. He has shown practically how to open RTO’s website, how to fill up forms and what kind of documents required to submit online. He also demonstrated about computer test which is conducted during learning driving license camp. 327 students, teaching and non-teaching staaff of our institute were

present for the session. Presentations on Road Safety in Colleges of Solapur

Presentations on Road Safety Awareness conducted in various colleges of Solapur from 19th October to 21st October 2015. NSS volunteers presented causes of road accidents, traffic rules and slogans of road safety in the V.V.P. college of Engineering, AKIMSS, Solapur, Sangameshwar College, Shivdare College of Pharmacy, DHB Soni College Solapur. Message of Road Safety given up to 1000 students of these colleges. 20 NSS volunteers participated in the presentations.

Traffic Control by NSS Volunteers On 6th November 2015 our four NSS volunteers helped to Traffic Police for traffic control at the Saraswati Chowk and Dafarin Chowk Solapur. These two places are having more traffic and because of that our volunteers helped traffic police in traffic controlling. Through this activity our volunteers given message of traffic rules which needs to follow by the peoples while driving.

Survey on “Awareness of Traffic Rules Among College Students” A survey was conducted by NSS Volunteers on awareness of traffic rules among college students. In this survey information about traffic rules and road safety tips collected from 750 college students of Solapur city. The survey was conducted on 2nd November to 7th November 2015. A questionnaire was prepared for the survey in which traffic rules related questions are given. it is observed from survey that 30.5% students don’t have their driving license, only 9.3% two wheeler students using helmet, Four wheeler drivers who use seat belts are only 27.2%. High speed, overtake and driving on wrong side are main causes of accidents. All 100 NSS volunteers actively participated in the activity.

Celebration of Indian Constitution Day As the Central government has decided to observe 26th November as Indian Constitution Day. NSS wing of Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences, Solapur organized Seminar on “Indian Constitution”. Event started by national anthem. Director of institute Dr. V.S. Mangnale has given importance of Constitution to live in incredible India. The Constitution is the supreme law of the land. All other laws have to conform to the Constitution. The constitution contains laws concerning the government and its relations with the people. We need a constitution to govern a country properly. Institute Librarian Dr. Sachin Surywanshi given presentation on “Indian Constitution” to the teaching staff and NSS volunteers. Dr. Suryawanshi talked about history of Indian Constitution; he told that Almost everything we do is governed by some set of rules. We need Laws in Society so our society can regulate and work properly. They are designed to protect us and our property and to ensure that everyone in society behaves the way that the community expects them too. The constitution defines the nature of political system of a country.

About 93 NSS volunteers present for the seminar. Dr. A.B. Nadaf shared views about

constitution and rights of acts involved in it. He highlighted Indian Councils Act (1861), Indian Councils Act (1892), Indian Councils Act (1909) and Government of India Act (1919). He also talked about framing of constitution of India. NSS programme officer Prof. V.N. More has given welcome address and Head of MBA department Prof. P.P. Kothari concluded the event by vote of thanks. All Teaching, Non-teaching staff were present at that time.

Computer Training Programme NSS Volunteers of MCA and BCA Dept. of Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences, Solapur has organized two days Computer training programme for the students of primary and High Schools. The training programme organized on 8th and 10th January 2015 at three different villages of South Solapur Taluka. The villages include Ingalagi, Madra and Aachegaon selected for the computer training programme. In this training programme Volunteers taught fundamentals of computer, introduction of internet and other applications to the 680 students of Zilla Parishad Schools who are in 4th standard to 7th standard

Celebration of Republic Day On 26th January 2016 Republican Day was celebrated in Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences, Solapur by NSS Volunteers along with Director Dr. V.S. Mangnale, All Teaching, Non-Teaching staff and students. An event was organized by the students to celebrate Republic Day in which they conducted elocution, cultural and other programmes. Director Dr. V.S. Mangnale, All Teaching, Non-Teaching staff and students were present for the flag hosting in the campus. All NSS Volunteers are actively participated in the event.

Survey of Out of School Students Survey of Out of School students conducted by NSS volunteers in adopted village Ingalagi Tal: South Solapur and Nearby slum areas. The survey was conducted to know exact number of out of school students. Govt. of Maharashtra announced that no students will out of school and with respect to that district coordinators meeting was held at Aurangabad on 15th and 16th October 2015. Prof. V.N. More Attended that meeting as district coordinator of Bharati Vidyapeeth University out of Pune districts. It is found from survey that 07 students are not going to school. Report of same is submitted to govt. of Maharashtra and university. These students are enrolled in nearby school of their places.

Participation in State Level NSS Camp at Solapur Six NSS volunteers from our institute participated in State Level NSS Camp organized by Solapur University, Solapur at Shelagi, Solapur. Our Programme Officer Prof. V.N. More lead the team of 10 NSS volunteers of our university. The camp was organized from 18th February to 24th February 2016.
