The EIR awards program recognizes outstanding remodeling projects throughout the state. Categories included residential exterior remodels, kitchen and bath updates, additions, historic renovations, aging in place upgrades, and entire home transformations, among others. In addition to the winners, seven honorable mentions were awarded. This year, participants from home builders associations in Eastern and Western Washington submitted 49 entries in 20 categories. A judging panel painstakingly reviewed each project before making their selections, making sure they met a set list of high criteria. Some winners were recognized in multiple categories. The awards were handed out during EIR’s annual reception on June 28 at BIAW’s Summer Board meeting in Spokane. BIAW’s EIR awards are an annual opportunity for members to gain professional recognition for their outstanding work for clients during the year. The awards are open to all BIAW members who have completed a project that meets the requirements of an award category. EVENT HONORS STATE’S TOP REMODELING PROJECTS ACROSS STATEEIR AWARDS

The Excellence in Remodeling (EIR) awards were held Wednesday, June 28 during the Summer Board meeting at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. BIAW is proud to highlight this year’s 26 winners and Honorable Mentions and to fea-ture an award-winning project on the front cover of Building Insight.

The evening event was hosted by Remodelers Chair Tod Sakai along with a ballroom filled with fellow members, guests and well-wishers. In addition to earning the Entire House Over $500,000 (cover photo) category, Tod Sakai took home a total of 5 winner and honorable mention awards. President of Sockeye Homes in Kent, he and his wife Kristen build and remodel homes throughout the Puget Sound region.

BIAW’s EIR award reception is an annual event that recognizes the best of the best remodeling projects in the state. Congratulations to all the 2017 EIR winners!
