I just wanted to say thank you for the prayers and support for the Kairos weekend at Hancock State

Prison Dec 5-8. It was a huge success! 41 inmates participated in the weekend and

got to hear and see the love of Christ. It is an amazing sight to see the agape (in the

form of posters, letters and a prayer chain) adorn the walls of the prison gym. Many

of the inmates have never felt love or support their whole lives and it is life chang-

ing for them to see that they are still a part of the body of Christ; they are still a part

of the church.

Here are some of the remarks at the closing: "I can't describe...my heart floods.", "I have passion.", "I

thank God for providing light to shine in the darkness.", "I have received a new family.", "I cried last

night" (my favorite one), "I'm incarcerated but I am free, I am filled with the sweet Holy Ghost!",

"Thanks for bringing us God's way.", "God is real.", "People love us, God loves us.", "Joy, joy I've

been searching for joy.", "I hope I can return the favor and be a true representative for Christ."

Most of these guys will spend the rest of their lives in prison but they will not be in bondage. I have

come that they may have life, and that they have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Thanks and Blessings,

Joel Beauchamp

It’s a New Year and with that comes the opportunity to make the Children’s

Ministry everything we wish for it to be…and that means including you in all

of our decisions…are you ready for 2014??

Wonderful Wednesday starts back on Wednesday, January 15th! We meet in

the gym at 5:15 for free-play time and break into age appropriate groups at

5:30 to begin our lesson. Pick up is at the Sanctuary Ramp at 6:15. All chil-

dren age 3 to 12 are invited to attend and to enjoy the music and games, Bible

story, and craft time that we have at each session. The Wonderful Wednesday

Team looks forward to seeing everyone!

Everyone interested in the Children’s Ministry is invited to attend a Children’s Ministry Planning

Meeting on Wednesday, January 15th during Wonderful Wednesday. We will meet in the Family Life

Center at 5:30 to discuss the formation of a Children’s Council – an advisory group that will assist with

event planning and decision-making. Please join us so that 2014 is the best year it can possibly be for

our children!

Acolyte Training will be held on Sunday, January 26th during Sunday School time. All children in the

Warrior Sunday School class (grades 3,4,5) are invited to attend the training whether they are experi-

enced acolytes or brand new! Parents are invited to attend so you can learn how your child can serve

during Worship.

Volunteers are needed for Children’s Church and for the Nurseries. Sign-up sheets for January –

March will be upstairs in the Sunday School area. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!

We are looking forward to a year full of adventure and growth in Christ…
