Club President’s Message

On Friday 15th November 2013, the club is hosting a Dream Auction. Not only will it be an enjoyable night but will help to raise funding towards the replacement of our two pitches, the front surface being the one to be replaced in 2014. I would like to thank everyone involved in this fundraising event. It’s always a fun occasion in which skills, talents and resources of TRR members are volunteered for the benefit of the whole club. Fundraising has always been essential and never more so than now. We have wonderful facilities in TRR but these are only maintained by hard work and good financial control. Both front and back hockey pitches have served us well but are now in urgent need of replacement. The cost of this project is enormous, as you can imagine. TRR is proud of the quality of hockey players amongst our members, both past and present. So many inter-provincial and international players have worn the TRR hockey uniform. Currently, we boast four teams in the Ladies section and five in the Men’s. Vets hockey continues to be competitive and social. Our Junior section is thriving, which bodes well for the future. To ensure that this future is vibrant and development continually maintained, we urgently need to update both pitches within the next few years. TRR will only survive if we all work together and support fundraising events, such as this Dream Auction. Not only does fundraising provide essential income to maintain TRR as one of the premier hockey clubs, but it also gets all those involved in the club to mix socially, get acquainted and realise they are making an important contribution to the club’s future.Thanks to those who have already pledged items for the auction. There are small and large promises going under the hammer, so come along on the night to join in the bidding. Your Dream may come true!
