The M18/5 was designed for simultaneous test grinding, dispersion, and sampling of up to 5 different types of materials in small batches.

Working capacity in each chamber is 1 pint. Metal cover assemblies are locked into place during grinding cycle. Motor: 230, 460 or 575

volt, 60 cycle, 3-phase, 1200 RPM, 1/4 HP, totally-enclosed. UL Approved Motor for Hazardous Location, Class I, Group D, and Class II, Groups F and G, is also available. Shipping weight is 200-225 lbs.

Chambers are available in stainless steel, stainless steel with polyurethane lining, and alumina-fortified ceramic.

Ceramic-Lined Mills Ceramic-lined mills are used when the liquid

vehicle or product being milled is not compatible with elastomeric linings and when no metallic contamination can be tolerated. These Mills also allow grinding at higher temperatures than normally feasible with elastomer linings.

The mill lining of all units consists of individual

ceramic tiles, except for M18 which has a monolithic lining. Although wear resistance is outstanding, replacement of any portion of the lining may be accomplished by the user.

Ceramic-lined construction is available with these Wet Grinding units (M45, 60, 80) as well as all Dry Grinding Mills (DM3, 10, 20, 70), and Dispersion Mills (D10).

RC Replaceable Cast Bottom Mills SWECO RC Mills have been designed for high

temperature abrasive or corrosive applications where the liquid vehicle is not compatible with an elastomer lining. With this series of units, the grinding chamber is comprised of a cast bottom

with bolt-on inner and outer type 316SS walls to permit easy replacement as needed.

Three SWECO Wet Grinding Mills — M45, M60 and M80 are available with RC chamber configurations. Specifications are similar to the corresponding units without RC chambers.

Dispersion Mills

These mills combine, in a single unit, effective

sub-micron Wet Erin d' Inc and deagglomeration/ dispersion. They are ideally suited to the manufacture of paints,

inks, coatings, and finely-divided organic and inorganic materials.

D3 Mill Working capacity is 3 gallons. Mounted on

high-tensile springs. Metal cover assembly with one product discharge valve. Type 316SS impeller arms with polyurethane tips. Pushbutton control panel provided. Dry Grinding/Classification System Dry grind, pneumatically transport, classify,

and collect materials within one integral system. This system consists of a Dry Grinding Mill, a Turbo-Screen*, and a cyclone arranged on a skid for closed-circuit grinding.

It easily processes particle sizes ranging from 250-20 microns. It also handles electrostatic

materials. In fact, the system is ideally suited for any application requiring efficient particle size reduction combined with positive, exact finished product screening — foods, chemicals, plastics and ceramics, for example.

Approximate chamber capacities: Choice of 3,10, 20 and 70 cubic feet.

Dry Grinding/Classification System with Separator

This system incorporates a Dry Grinding Mill, a SWECO Separator, bucket elevator, and

control panel. It has been designed especially for processing chemicals, ceramic materials, metallic minerals and for recovering casting sand.

SWECO Grinding Media SWECO offers a complete line of grinding

media, developed by evaluating results from extensive testing in many industrial applications.

To achieve narrow particle size distribution during wet grinding, cylindrical media is usually recommended, due to the resulting combination of point, line, and face contact. However, in other applications (especially those

involving dry grinding or the use of larger feed sizes) spherical media is often used. The point contact developed by spherical shapes will transmit the higher impact forces often required in these applications.
