Progettare una poltrona o un divano significa per-seguire con ostinazione l’obiettivo che l’oggetto di design, una volta completato, sia funzionale, ma che abbia anche una forma elegante, in grado di integrarsi nello spazio in cui verrà collocato.

La progettazione del divano “vesta” fa riferimen-to all’eleganza delle lunghe stole che dovevano indossare le “vestali”, storiche abitanti e custodi del tempio di vesta. tali stole erano state concepite in modo da adattarsi, con la loro fluidità e loro pieghe, al corpo femminile e da assecondarne i movimenti con comodità e, allo stesso tempo, regalità e stile.

Una particolare “stola”, realizzata con un solo pezzo di tessuto opportunamente sagomato, “veste” il “corpo” del divano seguendo l’andamento della forma imbottita, addentrandosi nelle sue fenditure e aderendo alle strisce di fissaggio. Il cuscino ad incastro vi si appoggia sopra, celando alla vista il “trucco” della funzionale sfoderabilità.

Il tessuto subisce delle piccole trasformazioni: corru-gamenti, ondulazioni e pieghe determinano una na-turale casualità, tanto da far sembrare il divano (o la poltrona) sempre diversi, seppur ordinati. Così come ogni vestito è caratterizzato da piccoli movimen-ti superficiali e appare diverso se indossato da persone differenti (o realizzato con differenti tipi di tessuti), la fami-glia di imbottiti “vesta” si differenzia per il suo carattere lievemente mutevole, infor-male e pratico in grado di animare l’interno dello spazio domestico con semplicità ed eleganza.

La struttura di base è in massello di abete, schienali e braccioli in pannelli di legno stratificato di abete. Imbottitura in poliestere espanso ad alta resilienza realizzata con quote differenziate e fasciata con falda di fibra acrilica. La seduta molleggia su nastri elastici con il cuscino intero nella lunghezza del divano e removibile.

Designing a chair or a sofa means pursuing the goal stubbornly that the object of design, once completed, is functional, but also has an elegant shape, capable of integrating into the space where the object will be placed.

the design of the sofa “vesta” refers to the elegance of the long robes that they had to wear the “vestal virgins”, historical inhabitants and custodians of the temple of vesta. a special “stole”, made with a single piece of fabric suitably shaped, “as” the “body” of the couch following the trend shape padded delves into its cracks and adhering to the fastening strips. the cushion interlocking leans over, hiding from view the “trick” of the functional removable covers.

the fabric undergoes small changes: wrin-kles, folds and undulations lead to a natural randomness, so as to make it look like the sofa (or chair) are always different, even if ordered. as each dress is characterized by small surface

movements and looks different

when worn by different people (or made with different

types of fabrics), the family of upholstered

furniture “vesta” is different because of its

the basic structure is made of solid spruce, back and armrests in wood pa-nels laminated spruce.
