    Company Background

    Incorporated as Manz Wear private ltd in 1987

    It became a public limited company in 1991 and

    was renamed Pantaloon fashions ( india) limited

    and then Pantaloon Retail (india) ltd in 1999.

    Emphasized on backward integration in apparel

    segment

    Launched successful brands- Pantaloon trouser,

    Bare denims and John Miller shirts in between

    1987 and 1993.

    It introduced the Pantaloon Shoppe and

    expanded it across the country from 1994-1998

    It moved to large format lifestyle retailing with

    launch of Pantaloons, India`s Family Store.

    Realizing that in retail size matters, Big bazaar

    was launched in 2001.

    In short span of two years, it had added a food

    bazaar and gold bazaar to its range of offerings
