Function Guide1. Self-Calibrating Digital Weld Meters with
Fault Code Indication display preset oractual weld parameters.
2. Adjustable Arc Control adjusts DIG whenprocess control is in Stick mode and adjustsinductance when process control is inFCAW or MIG mode. The amount of DIGdetermines how much amperage (heat)varies with Stick arc length. Inductancedetermines the “wetness” of the weld puddle.
3. Hot Start™ provides positive Stick electrodestarts making it easy to start all types of electrodes and it also works great forbead tie-ins.
4. Great FCAW/MIG Performance and Arc Starts make the Big Blue® 350PipePro’s arc best in its class. Easy to runall wires from .023 in solid wires to largediameter 5/64 in flux cored wires.
5. Lift-Arc™ TIG with Auto-Stop™
6. Standard 14-Pin Receptacle for simpleconnection of remote controls and wirefeeders. It features Auto Remote Sense™
which automatically switches from panel toremote amperage/voltage (A/V) control withremote connected. Eliminates confusion ofthe Panel/Remote A/V switch.
7. Weatherproof Lexan® Nameplate is superdurable and resists cracking and fading.Color coding is for ease of operation.
8. Engine Coolant Temperature Gaugedisplays coolant temper ature. Engine stopsif temperature exceeds 230˚F (110˚C).
9. Meter Maintenance Displays show fuellevel, engine hours, oil change interval andhi temp/low pressure/low fuel shutdowninformation.Low Fuel Shutdown shuts engine off priorto running out of fuel to prevent loss of fuelin the system, and make restarts easy.Display will read noFUEL. Turn the machineoff, add fuel, and restart.
10. Glow Plugs assist in cold weather starting.
11. Engine Control Switch is used to start theengine and then select between Auto Idleand High Speed Lock.
12. Amperage/Voltage Adjust Control
13. 120 VAC and 240 VAC Receptacles withCircuit Breakers (optional 120 VAC GFCIreceptacles available).Note: For matching plug, order #119 172.

Rigorous Testing for Tough,Real-World ConditionsTo prove our machines go to thelimit, Miller industrial enginedrives are put to the test in veryextreme environmental conditions. • Airborne Dust and Sand —
Critical components areexposed to abusive airborneparticles in a special testingchamber for weeks, helpingmake sure they’ll operate whilefacing extreme levels of dirt, dust or sand on the job site.
• Humidity and Corrosion —Inside Miller’s Houston testingroom, critical components aresubjected to extendedmoisture and corrosive saltexposure to ensure they’ll run even when exposed to humidclimates, corrosive coastal environments, and driving rain.
• Temperature Extremes — Miller’s industrial engine drives are tested to ensure performance in scorching heat. All Millerengine driven machines are weld rated at 104˚F, but actual tests are conducted up to 122˚F to assure peak performance.
• Jobsite/Over-the-Road Abuse — Miller industrial engine drives are shaken for hours on transportation bed simulators, subjected to severe vibration, and test-dropped and jerked toensure they’ll withstand the stresses that can shut downcompetitive machines.
• Continuous Operation — Miller’s industrial engine drives runday and night, in all weather conditions, to assure they’ll performwithout interruption in the field.
Superior Circuit Board DesignMiller’s critical circuit boards are engineered to carry low powerand low heat to reduce thermal stress and minimize expansionand contraction. In contrast, our competitor’s boards carry highpower and high heat, making them more vulnerable to failure.
What Makes Miller Industrial Engine Drives So ?
“The Vault” Makes Upgrading to Miller CC/CV UnitsWorry-FreeConcerns with circuit board reliability have resulted in someoperators steering clear of CC/CV welder/generators — eventhough they offer a superior arc and multiple welding processes.Miller’s circuit board reliability isn’t a concern since all Big Bluemultiprocess industrial engine drives feature the Vault.
Created out of two aluminum halves sealed with silicone, as wellas watertight harness connections, the Vault provides a cleancircuit board environment, protecting the electronics — andcontrolling output — in heavy industrial applications. No othercompetitor protects their electronics with a sealed vault, leavingcritical circuit boards exposed to harsh elements that can disruptthe machine’s electronics, and therefore, its operation.
“The Miller 350 PipePro makes my job easier every day. It runs a 3/16 electrode downhill smoother and keeps it litbetter than any machine I’ve used.”
Jerry Morley, Gas Field Specialists Inc,Plumbers and Steamfitters #267

SuitCase® X-TREME™ 8HD Features
Potted and trayed main printed circuit board for the harshest environments adds exceptionalreliability. Board has full-trigger isolation so ashorted gun trigger will not affect feeder operation.
Polypropylene case with built-in slide rails andthe ability to open the door to change wire withfeeder in vertical position.
Digital meters with SunVision™ technology candisplay voltage and wire speed, and also amperageif desired. Meters can be seen clearly even indirect sunlight.
High-torque motor specifically designed forfeeding 5/64 in flux cored wire. The motor andgear train were optimized to push large diametercore wire without significantly inceasing theweight of the feeder.
Excellent starts and superior arc performancefor all types and sizes of wires whether using aCV or CC power supply.
Double-filtered gas valve helps keep dirt fromclogging and affecting gas flow.
Trigger hold, wire jog, and gas purge are alllocated on front panel.
Dual schedule operation when connected to aBernard® PipePro Dura-Flux™ gun, reduces wirefeed speed in schedule B for welding in theoverhead postion.
Wider voltage range for small and large wireswith no contactor chatter or arc outages.
SuitCase X-TREME 8HD is designedspecifically to weld pipe. It has the power to push large diameter flux cored wire for maximum productivity, plus available dual schedule operation for welding on thebottom of the pipe.
