INTRODUCTION

The Big One Xtreme II is an amusement machine which, for instance, can be found in amusement arcades. The player’s objective is to grab a product from the “grab area”. For this purpose, there is a joystick and a fire button at his disposal. The joystick allows the player to move the gantry above the playfield. When the fire button is pushed, the claw descends towards the chosen product. In order to start a game, a player must insert coins, bills or swipe a payment card. He will then receive credits, indicated on the video screen at the back of the machine. By means of the joystick, the player can move the gantry above the playfield in a desired position, and push the fire button (next to the joystick) to lower the claw and grab the chosen product. If the product is not lifted from the playfield, or if the product drops out of the claw while going up, the player can push the fire button again. This will activate an “INSTANT REPLAY” (if credits available). The player wins when the product is dropped into the prize box. The game is over when the gantry is back at home position.

A player only wins when a product drops into the prize box.

INSTANT REPLAY : This function is available and only active while the claw is going upwards and if credits available. The cost for an instant replay game = 1 credit

A contactless payment system is not installed by default. Elaut can provide a cable to connect any card system allowing contactless payments to be made.

The operator cannot use any options or functions which contradict local codes or legislation.

• If connected, the machine or its components are powered by a 100-245V power supply.

• Make sure that the power cable is connected properly.

• Do not plug or unplug a cable, while the machine is switched on.

• Do not plug this system into a supply voltage other than indicated on the machine label.

• The operator is responsible for the proper installation and machine use. An incorrect installation may result in product damage. The warranty will become void if the machine and/or electronic components are damaged due to an incorrect installation.

THERMAL AND ELECTRICAL SAFETY

• In order to minimize the risk of ignition, component temperatures are limited to safe levels. The hottest components are resettable fuses that use thermal PTC features. Their off-state temperature is max. 125°C.

UNPACKING AND INSTALLING THE AMUSEMENT MACHINE

Gather the equipment to assemble the Big One Xtreme II amusement machine and consult the installation instructions before starting the installation.

• Make sure there are no obstacles around the machine and that it is installed on a flat surface.

• Do not expose the machine to moisture or high humidity.

SERVICE

The machine may only be repaired by qualified persons :

Attention : Watch out for the moving claw when entering the machine for any reason ! The gantry (attraction mode ON) can start moving. The claw can cause serious injuries !

Switch OFF the machine for cleaning, maintenance or service.

OPERATION

The following preparations have to be made, before the machine can be put into operation. The claw power can be set automatically or manually, see below for more information.

AUTOMATIC SETUP (AUTOMATIC CLAW ON)

Choosing the automatic mode is factory recommended as the claw power will be adjusted automatically if necessary during the game to stabilize the payout of the machine

Step 1 : Set the price

see Quick Start p. 20 Insert the correct purchase price of the product in the "Product cost" field. Than insert the vending price (= how much the product should bring in) in the “Est. price out” field. As a result of these 2 settings, the desired payout percentage will be calculated.

) 90

Once this is done, select “S” to restart the game, so the payout regulator can start with the new values.

Page 12: BIG ONE XTREME II - Player One Amusement Group

12 Big One Xtreme II_1.0_ENG.docx Elaut NV

Step 2 : Set the claw power

see Claw Settings p. 26 Make sure “Automatic claw” is ON(1). Clear the area on the right hand side of the prize box and place the new product on the bottom of the playfield. Select “S” to activate the “Learn claw”-function.

• the gantry will move to the right hand side.

• the claw will go down automatically.

• the claw grabs the product.

• Don’t touch the claw, but move the product if necessary so the claw can pick it up properly.

Automatically the claw will go up and start calculating the required claw power (= retaining power) to release the product smoothly. When the product is released, the calculated value is stored. The value will be displayed on the video screen (in our example 28 %). This value should be minimum 25 %. If the “Learn Claw”-process is finished successfully ACCEPTED The gantry goes back to home position . If the “Learn Claw”-process is finished unsuccessfully NOT ACCEPTED Signal and message : “object not picked up” or “weight too low dropped early” or “claw not powerful enough object stuck” or “claw too powerful”. The claw will automatically repeat the whole process and will try to learn the product again (max. 5 learn attempts). Note: If you can’t find the right setting with the automatic claw setup, then you can try the Manual Setup (Automatic claw OFF).

Page 13: BIG ONE XTREME II - Player One Amusement Group

Elaut NV Big One Xtreme II_1.0_ENG.docx 13

Step 3 : Set the pick-up time

see Claw Settings p. 26

The pick-up time is a setting that allows you to make the game more teasing. The higher the time is set, the higher the product will be lifted from the playfield. In Automatic Mode this setting will also be adjusted when necessary. When the random pick up time is ON, the set pick up time will be changed every game (+ or – to the set time). This way the player has the impression that all games are different.

Pickup time -0,1S < Pickup Time < Pickup time x1,5 Eg. Pickup time is set to 0.4sec. →The pickup time will randomly be picked between 0.3 and 0.6sec with random to ON.

Step 4: Test normal games

see Claw Settings p. 26

Page 14: BIG ONE XTREME II - Player One Amusement Group

14 Big One Xtreme II_1.0_ENG.docx Elaut NV

MANUAL SETUP (AUTOMATIC CLAW OFF)

In manual setting, the operator himself is responsible for the settings, and there is no correction on the claw power if set incorrectly.

Step 2 : Adjust claw power and pickup time

see Claw Settings p. 26

Make sure “Automatic claw” is OFF (0). Retain power (23% minimal) : power to release the product. Place a product in the claw and close. Use + or – to change the retain power until the product falls down. Pickup power : power to pick up the product aka the win power. Set manually at minimum the double of the retaining power (use + or -). Randomize pickup time : from pickup power to release power, based on the installed pickup time (Randomize pickup time ON = 1).

Page 15: BIG ONE XTREME II - Player One Amusement Group

Elaut NV Big One Xtreme II_1.0_ENG.docx 15

Keep in mind that if you set the pickup time too high, it’s possible that the prize might be held on too long and causes an unwanted win in return!

Step 4 : Test

see Claw Settings p. 26
