★ Be able to apply the information learned and design and implement an action plan that includes a College Signing Day program which aligns with school and school counseling program goals, despite budget constraints, counseling team size or school size
★ Know how to demonstrate how you serve as a leader in the school and community to promote and support student success
★ Know how to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and encourage student success

What is College Signing Day
College Signing Day Programs celebrate seniors pursuing college, tech school, military commitments or
apprenticeship programs and inspire underclassmen to proactively create post-secondary plans. Whether you
work alone or with a team, you can implement this program.

College Signing Day is for ALL★ Publicly recognizes, in front the entire student body, ALL seniors for
making a post-secondary plan.★ Serves as a reminder for seniors to make a postsecondary decision
by May 1.★ Helps students and their families clarify match and financial fit for
college.★ Helps other students see the value of preparing for college.★ Creates an end of school year celebration that builds a college-going
culture across the school and within the community.★ Publicizes a positive message to the community about students in
the school.

media, armed forces and college representatives invited★ First event of its kind in school history
In 2015 we were the first school on Southern Illinois to host a College Signing Day event-we honored 83% of our senior class, in 2016 we honored 90%; in 2017 we honored 94% (our goal was 95%).
