Verbintenis om de kwaliteit van farmaceutische
producten te verzekeren
Toegang tot kwaliteitsvolle farmaceutische producten voor iedereen: volgens minister van
Ontwikkelingssamenwerking Alexander De Croo is het één van dé prioriteiten van de Belgische
ontwikkelingssamenwerking. België besteedt dan ook 22% van haar officiële ontwikkelingshulp voor
de sector gezondheidzorg aan farmaceutische producten.
Daarom ondertekenden we ook als VLIR-UOS in oktober 2017 de ‘Verbintenis om de kwaliteit van
farmaceutische producten te verzekeren’.
Certificering evaluatiesysteem VLIR-UOS In 2017 kreeg onze organisatie een certificaat voor haar evaluatiesysteem van de FOD Buitenlandse
Zaken, Buitenlandse Handel en Ontwikkelingssamenwerking. Dat toont aan dat het evaluatiesysteem
van VLIR-UOS voldoet aan de verschillende criteria die de overheid voorop stelt.

Overzicht van de in 2017 lopende projecten In wat volgt geven we een overzicht van alle projecten die in 2017 budget hebben gekregen vanuit het vijfjarenprogramma van VLIR-UOS.

ACROPOLIS 2017
Het programma voor beleidsondersteunend onderzoek levert op vraag van de Belgische overheid onderzoeksresultaten over specifieke thema’s die van belang
zijn voor de Belgische ontwikkelingssamenwerking. Dit programma is gezamenlijk gefinancierd met ARES. De onderzoeksprojecten zijn opgestart op 1 mei
2017 en lopen door tot eind december 2018.

* Het gaat om samenwerking tussen Vlaamse en Franstalige universiteiten, waarbij naast de instelling van de coördinator, nog andere instellingen betrokken
zijn.
Voor het thema ‘Landbouw en voedselzekerheid’ biedt de KU Leuven ondersteuning aan het Directie-generaal Ontwikkelingssamenwerking en Humanitaire
Hulp (DGD). Promotor van dit project is professor Jo Swinnen (KU Leuven). Het budget komt op € 120 000 en de looptijd is 24 maanden (2017-2018).

Global Minds Global Minds heeft als doel om de capaciteit en kennis van de Vlaamse universiteiten en hogescholen over en voor ontwikkelingssamenwerking verder uit te
bouwen en uit te diepen op drie strategische assen: onderwijs, onderzoek en sensibilisering. De Vlaamse universiteiten en hogescholen kunnen elk een eigen
invulling aan hun Global Minds-programma geven, op basis van de eigen behoeften en opportuniteiten, en aansluitend bij het eigen instellingsbeleid.

Vlaamse Doctoraatsbeurzen (VLADOC) 2017
VLADOC financiert individuele doctoraatsbeurzen voor onderzoek over een ontwikkelingsrelevant thema aan een Vlaamse universiteit voor EEU-studenten
voor minimum 24 en maximum 48 maanden. De laatste intake dateert van 2016. In 2016 werden er zeven onderzoeken geselecteerd. Dit was ook meteen de
laatste VLADOC-oproep. In 2017 kwam het overkoepelende Global Minds-programma in de plaats (zie hierboven).
In 2017 werd er voor VLADOC dus geen selectie meer gedaan, maar er zijn momenteel nog wel projecten lopende. Die kunnen worden geraadpleegd op

Internationale Master Programma’s 2017-2021 (ICP’s) In 2015 werd een oproep gelanceerd voor nieuwe Master Programma’s voor opstart in 2017-2018. De selectie vond plaats in 2016. Het programmaoverzicht
vind je hieronder. Elk programma krijgt financiering voor twaalf beurzen per jaar.

Get Together Night 2017 Het bursalenfeest oftewel de ‘Get Together Night’ wil bursalen over de grenzen van het eigen programma en de universiteit heen samenbrengen en hen een
forum bieden om elkaar te leren kennen en ideeën uit te wisselen voor huidige en toekomstige samenwerking. Dit feest is tot op heden één van de weinige
manieren – zo niet de enige – waarop bursalen vanuit de verschillende universiteiten elkaar kunnen ontmoeten.
In 2017 organiseerde de Universiteit Gent het bursalenfeest en vond het aldus ook in het Gentse plaats.

ICP PhD 2014-2020 ICP PhD financierde tot en met 2014 individuele doctoraatsbeurzen voor onderzoek over een ontwikkelingsrelevant thema aan Vlaamse universiteiten voor
studenten uit ontwikkelingslanden, en dat voor minimum 24 en maximum 48 maanden. In 2014 werden er tien onderzoeken geselecteerd. Dit waren ook meteen
de laatste PhD-oproep en -intake. In 2017 kwam het overkoepelende Global Minds-programma in de plaats. In dat jaar werd er voor ICP PhD dus geen selectie
meer gedaan, maar er zijn momenteel nog wel projecten lopende. Deze lopende projecten kunnen worden geraadpleegd op onze website via de volgende link:
