NYT Licensing helped El Nuevo Dia complement their local news and commentary with a selection of Times journalism, in both digital and print formats, tailored to meet the unique needs of the Puerto Rican audience.
A Targeted Mix of Times Journalism To distinguish themselves from their competitors, El Nuevo Dia sought unique ways to inspire their subscribers. In 2016, they licensed a selection of travel journalism and international coverage from the Times, alongside business op-eds from renowned influencer and entrepreneur Richard Branson. In addition, they licensed Times content in both Spanish and English, providing their largely bilingual readership a cultural link to New York City – where roughly one quarter of the Puerto Rican population resides.
