All employers are required toconsult their employees onhealth and safety matters
All employers are required toconsult their employees onhealth and safety matters
Our view with regard to consultation is that it is possible for an employer with up to five employees to consult with their employees directly.
However when the number of employees reaches above five it becomes increasingly difficult to engage in meaningful consultation with employees directly.
We believe at this level it is prudent for employers to consult their workforce through well trained and knowledgeable safety representatives.
This is in line with the current requirement for employers to produce written policies and assessments when they employ five or more people.
