Their reign continues, as they have dominated the competition for the past four years! Thank you to Mrs Kristy Johnson, Mr Mark Simpson and Mrs Ros Goodwin for organising the carnival. Regardless of the outcome and the very welcome intermittent rain, all our students aimed to have fun, compete and do their personal best. The evening was enjoyed by all and as usual, our students competed against each other with the highest level of sportsmanship on display. Our secondary students provided their support and guidance to our younger non- competitive swimmers. This event always provides some of the most heart-warming moments for our school community. We saw many students compete in every single race, regardless of their ability level they achieved their goals for the carnival, set new personal bests, cheered on their house and had fun with their family and friends. The photos by Mrs Kara Watson really captured all of this for our families and students to remember. Thank you to all the parents and family members who attended the carnival, everybody provided a great supportive and enjoyable atmosphere for our students. It was another big carnival with an impressive level of attendance by all eligible students. Well done to our age champions and our record breaker, Erica Dixon, who had an exceptionally successfully night. Good luck to all our students competing at the next level. Cultural Days Following the success of our Cultural Day’s held at The Living Classroom in 2019, we will be continuing with this program for 2020. Students will participate in cultural sessions held each term with Buddy and his team from Winangali Infusion. Students will further develop their knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal history, dance, art and language whilst being immersed in a range of activities. A permission note was sent home yesterday. You’re Better Off on Bingara Central Beef An expression of interest for Years 5-12 to participate in the Bingara Central Beef program will go out shortly. This program will be co-ordinated by Mr Charlie Mill with proposed excursions to The Ekka, Upper Hunter Beef Bonanza and/or Glen Innes Beef Spectacular. The aim of this program is to provide students of Bingara Central School the opportunity to participate in a beef cattle program which is designed to broaden their perspective on life and to foster and promote the following employability skills: 1. Teamwork 2. Leadership 3. Resilience 4. Time Management 5. Perseverance 6. Communication 7. Social Skills 8. Bingara Tennis Club Presents

Wednesday 26th

Feb. from 5pm to 8pm at the Sporting Club

Information Evening – An introduction to the Hot Shots Tennis Programme – presented by Tennis Australia’s Ken Wray and Ellie Ryan. An invitation is extended to parents of children learning or wanting to learn to play tennis. We also invite

those parents who help out or would like to help on Thursday afternoons with the children’s sessions. I am sure it will help us understand how and why this programme works. Any other interested people are also welcome. This will provide you with a great fresh insight into how the “Community Play” program should run. We will finish the evening with a barbeque. We would appreciate bookings, for catering purposes. So please phone Jan on 0429991747 or Nicole on 0427241103. Thanks and hope to see as many as possible there. This a free, no charge evening apart from whatever you may wish to purchase from the bar.

Thursday 27th

Feb. – Children’s coaching session from 3.30pm

Both Ken and Ellie have volunteered to work with the kids and us.

Thursday 27th

Feb. – Introduction to “Open Court – Get your Racquet on”

This will be the first night of “Open Court – Get Your Racquet On” that was being promoted during the Australian Open Tennis in Melbourne. It should be a fun night of tennis, games, music and food (different but fun).

The aim of this is to encourage people back onto the tennis court who haven’t played for some time (even years). Very social and laid back. A barbeque will round off the evening, including soft drink/water. Alcohol and coffee can be purchased in the club. The cost of the evening is $10 per player and $5 for any children under 18. This, of course, includes the barbeque and use of equipment.

Racquets are supplied for the evening, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t have one of your own.

We hope to see you there. - Please phone Jan or Nicole to book in (for catering purposes). Jan Miller
