BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation (BEI) program Switzerland considers itself as the worldwide leader of innovation. Zurich as a leading innovation hub holds a top position for Life Sciences. Many biotech companies are founded by scientists and many startups are facing the same problems and pitfalls.

The new program „BioEntrepreneurship & Innovation (BEI)“ supports the sound preparation and start of spin-offs in a pragmatic approach. Concrete case studies will be presented and discussed by industry practitioners.

The Hipster („Design“): usually working their way into the mix as the designer or creative genius, they’ll make sure the final product is cooler than anything else out there.

The Hacker („Technology“): The one most likely to sit quietly through a board meeting until uttering the three sentences that answers the all important question of “how?” the new idea or initiative can be brought into reality. Resembling MacGyver with their ability to wield various lines of code or programing languages, you’ll get dizzy trying to keep up with their keystrokes.

The Hustler („Finances“): They have the tendency to be the most misunderstood member of this trio. The Hipster is likely to accuse the Hustler of having sold out to the man because of their constant question of “It’s cool, but is it something our partners and clients want?”

Develop a 3H strategy* until end of September including Ø  Business idea (product/service, IP, target group, naming) Ø  Primary market research

Mail the presentation until Sept, 28 and prepare a sales pitch for the session (maximum 7 minutes) on 29th

In spring 2017 the business ideas will be developed to business plans. The teams with the most promising ideas & strategies are invited to the BEI FoundersLab in autumn 2017.
