Weeks 6-10: mapping mutations (meiotic recombination), geneticmodel organisms and genetic research (cancer, signalingpathways, maternal effect mutations, mouse knockouts)

Understand that genes reside on chromosomes and chromosomes are made up ofhundreds if not thousands of genes. Understand how genes and alleles areinherited during sexual reproduction if they are on different chromosomes or onthe same chromosome.
