Main parameters of experimental unit

Period: 2004-2005Projectsummary: The technology for gasification of biomass and municipal solid waste (MSW) with minimal environmental impact was developed and investigated.Financing: The Science and Technology Centre in Ukraine (STCU)Main project parameters

InnovativenessIt is possible to combust fuel of low quality (high ash content, up to 45-50% moisture content, irregular fractional composition) and have acceptable emission from the boiler.

Main advantagesMiddleheatingvalueproducergas (12-13MJ/Nm3) isproduced. The gas can be used as fuel including possibility of power generation. Gasificstion and fine cleaning of producer gas allows to avoid dioxins formation.

InnovativenessThe entire process is originally separated into two zones: gasification of biomass/MSW and combustion of charcoal. Inert material as a heat carrier circulates between the two zones.

Volume of bioreactor:Processtemperature:

0.01-1.0 m320-55ºС

15 kg biomass/hagricultural residues and other kinds of biomass

Period: 2006-2007Financing: U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation (CRDF) Projectsummary: The technology for straw and other kinds of biomass conversion into bio-oil (pyrolysis oil) is developed. Main parameters of the experimental unit

Period: 2009-2010

Project summary: Creation of experimental anaerobic bioreactors for organic material of plant and animal origin destruction with biogas generation. Investigation and optimization of methane generation processes at processing of monosubstrates and polycomponent organic mixtures, development of technological regulations for biogas units operation. Financing: International European innovation scientific and technical programme “EUREKA”

Main parameters of experimental unit:

Main advantagesHighyieldofliquidfuel(upto70%ofalltheproducts),whichcan be used in boilers and engines.

InnovativenessAblative reactor of a new type is proposed - the reactor with acon screw.

Substrates: dry and liquid manure waste, food and processing industry waste, energy crops, plant waste of agriculture and settlements, waste waters and sludge, organic component of MSW.

InnovativenessPossibility of biochemical destruction of polycomponentorganic mixtures, low- and high-concentrated industrial waste waters, organic materias of any humidity and viscosity with biogas production.
