    Announcing Our2013 Biomass Boiler Workshops Boston,Massachusetts,May9-10,2013 Portland,Oregon,September19-20,2013

    Since2000,theseworkshopshavebeenattendedbyover825representativesofnumerousplantsinthe

    Pulp/ForestProductsIndustries,IndependentPowerProducersandEnergy-from-WasteIndustry.

The workshops consist o presentations about new

technological developments and results to improve the

operating perormance, waste uel burning capacity,

efciency, and uel economy o biomass-fred boilers (mostly

stoker-fred). In addition, the program will include troubleshooting

and problem solving discussions o challenges that attendees bring

to the workshop. Participants will beneft by: 1) learning about

the current retroft technology or biomass boilers and associated

equipment; 2) seeing how other mill operations solve their biomass

boiler area problems; and 3) receiving inormation and solutions

to their specifc problems. Attendance to the workshop is ree o

    charge; space is limited.

    Re: Invitation Biomass Boiler Workshop

    Dear Sir/Lady:

J ansen Combustion and Boiler Technologies, Inc. (J ANSEN) is pleased to extend to you an invitationto attend one of our upcoming 2013 Biomass Boiler Workshops. Held every year since 2000, thisyear the workshops will be in:

    Boston, Massachusetts, May 9-10, 2013

    Portland, Oregon, September 19-20, 2013

These workshops have been attended by some 825 representatives of numerous plants in thePulp/Forest Products Industry, Independent Power Producers, Utilities, and Energy-from-WasteIndustry.

The workshops consist of presentations about new technological developments and results toimprove the operating performance, biomass burning capacity (i.e., waste wood, bark, hogged fuel, chips, pellets), efficiency, emissions performance, and fuel economy of biomass-fired boilers(focusing on stoker/grate fired units). In addition, the program will include troubleshooting andproblem solving discussions of challenges that attendees bring to the workshop. Participants willbenefit by 1) learning about the current retrofit technology for biomass boilers and associatedequipment, 2) seeing how other plants solve their biomass boiler problems, and 3) receiveinformation and solutions to your plant specific problems.

In the past decade, JANSEN has upgraded the performance of 70 biomass and RDF-fueled boilersin our industries. Typically, the results of these upgrades are:

To significantly increase the biomass burning capacity and reduce fossil fuel firing.

To improve emissions performance (CO, VOC, NOx, particulate matter).

To reduce carryover and reduce unburned carbon losses.

To reduce erosion from high ash carryover.

To reduce excess air and increase thermal efficiency.

To help meet Boiler MACT and CISWI regulatory emissions performance.

To facilitate efficient and trouble-free incineration of Non-Condensable Gas (HVLC andLVHC).
