World Soil Day: 5th December was
celebrated as ‘World Soil Day’. Video
clips were shown to make children
learn about the importance of soil fol-
lowed by a discussion and nature walk
to the compost pit .

Classes I & II
Life Skill Activities: Pouring activity was or-
ganised keeping in mind the development of
focusing, concentrating and coordinating.
Learning Beyond The Text: A
Powerpoint presentation on the poem
‘A Special Holiday’ was shown
followed by the recitation of the same.
Learning about plants vide various
hands-on activities like leaf printing
and germination.
Christmas Celebrations: To celebrate the true
spirit of Christmas, various videos related to
Christmas stories were shown. Craft work such as
making of a Christmas tree using corrugated sheets
was done. The students sang Christmas carols to
bring on the festive fervour.
Classes III –V
Math Week: The students put up an exhibition, performed hands on activities like making a snowman with
geometrical shapes , a Beam Balance to measure pencils, erasers and sharpeners. A workshop on 21st Century
Math Skills was conducted by Mr. Arpan Mukherjee from MacMillan Publishing House. Inter House Math
Quiz was organised. The winning house was Dhaulagiri with Aravali & Kailash Houses in the second position
and Vindhya House in the third.
Activities:
Club Fiesta: Classes III—V had their Annual Club Fiesta on 26th
December 2019. The 25 clubs showcased the inherent talent and
diverse interest of the young learners.
Inter House Dance Competition– The students of class III
participated in the Inter House
Dance Competition. The first
position was bagged by Nilgiri
followed by Aravali house in
the second and Vindhya in the
third position.
Grandparents Day: To show their love and respect for their grandparents, the students of class V organised a
Grandparents Day. The happiness on the faces of the grandparents was evident as they witnessed the pro-
gramme organised by the children.
Special Assemblies:
• The students of class III A presented a special assembly on ‘Sharing And Caring’. The assembly
showcased the need to take care of mother Earth and sharing the resources bestowed by her.
• Class IV G showcased their special assembly on ‘Giving Ways To The Differently Abled’. The as-
sembly created awareness amongst the students on how to treat the differently abled with love and
respect.
Workshops:
For Parents:
• A counselling session for the parents of classes I & II was conducted by Ms. Reeti Jain on inculcating
reading habits in children.
For Teachers:
• An aerobic workshop for the teachers was organised by Ms. Reshma Basist.
• A workshop on ‘Controlling Aggression ' by Sri Sri Ravi Shanker’s Art of Living organization was con-
ducted by Mr Gagan Tokas.
• BVN organised a workshop for female staff titled 'Online Safety For Women', by Rakshit Tandon, Direc-
tor, Executive Council of the 'Council of Information Security' (CIS).
