WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER THAT YOU WERE PSYCHIC?

Since childhood I have had an awareness of Spirit, but after a car crash in 1995 things really started to develop. My life started to change very quickly and the awareness grew into a calling. The need to work with Spirit evolved and eventually took me on a pathway, via Spiritualist Churches and psychic fairs, to where I am today.

When their relationship started, Michelle was actually his mentor. She was a 25 year old associate at a corporate law firm in Chicago. After a year on the job, the firm brought in a 27 year old prodigy from Harvard as a summer

associate, and assigned Michelle to mentor him. It wasn’t a fast and furious courtship, despite Barack’s brazen Leo charm. The Leo-Capricorn combination is not traditionally seen as a great match. Both signs can be stubborn, and might want to run the show. If there is mutual respect, however — and certain other elements of astrological synastry — it can be a very dynamic combination.

That Michelle’s Jupiter forms a beneficial trine to Barack’s sun was a clear sign that her presence would amplify and expand his political ambitions. When he first ran for the Illinois State Senate in 1996, Michelle was reticent at first.

She was a brilliant lawyer and activist with a bright future, and didn’t know if being married to a politician was the life she really wanted. But once she was in, she was in. Her tireless efforts (Capricorn is a steady and stubborn climber) were instrumental in propelling her spotlight-loving Barack to the State Senate, the U.S. Senate, and all the way to the White House.

Another important element between the two charts involves Saturn. This is the planet of rules, discipline and boundaries — in short, it’s right at home in the world of law and politics. Barack’s Saturn is placed in Capricorn, directly on top of Michelle’s Sun. In many relationships, this would often create a stifling aspect where one parter is overbearing to another. But being a Capricorn, which is ruled by Saturn, Michelle actually thrives on order and routine. Barack’s Saturn placement would have actually made her feel more at ease and centered as they climbed the ranks of political power together.

But it’s also the everyday romance and love that keeps this relationship strong. A nice trine between her Venus in Pisces and his Venus in Cancer gives them an emotional, loving, watery bond that underlies the hard work of politics and government.

The idea that this fascinating and dignified couple are off the world stage following the mandatory end of Barack’s presidential tenure has left more than a few people feeling down, but it’s probably best not to jump to conclusions. Although Michelle Obama has said she won’t run for President in 2020, the Democratic party may see her as the most popular and suitable of all candidates, should she decide to pursue her husband’s former office. The Capricorn Sun and compassionate Pisces moon make her tough and sensitive at the same time, and it’s not difficult to imagine the Obamas returning to power. Could they achieve what the Clinton’s failed to? Only time will tell. Either way, their love story and synastry is one for the history books.

For those with an October birthday, there are two stones which are representative for them – the OPAL and the

TOURMALINE. Initially it was just the OPAL, but TOURMALINE was introduced as it was seen as a less expensive alternative. The OPAL is also recognised as the present given for a fourteenth wedding anniversary gift. The two stones have very different features, depending on their formation.

For the OPAL – they are very unique stones and come mainly from Australia and they are formed in the semi-deserts, which are very dry. When the rains come, they drench the earth and over time the Opals are formed — but the mineral make-up of the earth surrounding them during this formation is what makes each stone unique. The colours vary across the spectrum, from light colours (including white) through different hues of blue, green and black. Since the middle-ages, these precious stones have been seen

as good luck symbols, often worn to help ward off evil. Some of the stones are viewed as being more precious and some are cast as being common, depending on the overall look and makeup of the individual stone itself. They are said to represent faithfulness and confidence.

The word itself comes from the LATIN word OPALUS, meaning special jewel and they are highly prized across all cultures. One characteristic of the OPAL is the ability it has to change colour according to the lighting and angle of view, This is due to the formation and the minerals surrounding it during its formation. One famous OPAL is the FLAME QUEEN, which is shaped like a fried egg, with the red portion in the middle surrounded by a darker colour. This piece sold at auction for £250, 000.

TOURMALINE is seem as an alternative birthstone for October birthdays and is very different from Opal. While Opal is a cloudy mix of colours and hues,

Tourmaline is a very clear stone and comes in a rainbow of beautiful colours, with the PINK TOURMALINE favoured most for engagement rings. Tourmaline are made up of crystal minerals, and like the Opals can vary in colour and hue. Most are typically mined in Brazil and Africa, though smaller deposits can be found in other parts of the world.

The way Tourmaline are formed is also very distinct. Unlike Opal, they form long, pencil like crystals, which gem-cutters then cut into long bar shapes called ‘baguettes’. They can also be formed into single stones (e.g. for engagement rings or earrings). Due to the composition of the stones, they are sought after or their hardness and excellent durability.

There is no hard and fast rule over which you should chose as your birthstone; it’s down to individual choice. They each have their own individual appeal, and with such vast ranges of colour, you will always be spoilt for choice!
