Green your Printing
The OAS Office Staff is participating in a 4-week long internal Green Office Competition The staff members who demonstrate the ldquogreenestrdquo behvaior will receive prizes
The OAS will soon be implement-ing a new printing system on campus ldquoFollow-Me Printingrdquo This will allow students to send a print job from any-where on campus as well as print from printers located in the labs and dorms
It will also save a great deal of paper Since October 2009 because of wasteful printing habits by the iLABrsquos users the iLAB has recycled an average of 10435 pounds of paper per month which is equivalent to about 52 boxes of paper or 21914 dollars or 106 trees This is an enormous amount of waste
Also for a full year after the new sys-tem is implemented enough trees will be planted by OCE International to completely offset carbon emissions pro-duced by the new print system
For more information about the new print system see the Hilltoprsquos Article
