Bits & Pieces … Odds & Ends … This & That …

I have several things I want to “talk about” today. So here we go.

Sunday was another really good day. Our attendance through the summer has been really good. We’ve had a number of first time guests. We’ve rejoiced in the baptisms and people who have joined our church. We have however fallen a little behind in our giving. Just wanted to keep you informed. Thanks for your faithfulness and keep up the good work.

Vacation Bible School got off to a good start. The theme is “Move Inside Out.” It has been so exciting seeing so many children ages 2 through 6th grade. Charity and her crew have done a great job in preparation and it seems like the children are having a great time. As I’m writing this we’ve only had two nights, but they have been very good. I always look forward to seeing so many smiling faces (mainly on the young bodies). And it’s always good to see new people, and this year there have already been several. Thanks to so many who give of their time and energy to make this week possible.

Jo & I really enjoyed our week at the North American Christian Convention (NACC) in Cincinnati, OH. We really appreciate the elders and the church not only making this opportunity available for us, but also encouraging us to attend. This is not a policy making convention. There are no delegates, no policies to vote on, no votes taken. It is simply a gathering of Christian leaders for worship, study, and networking. This year’s theme was aptly chosen – “We Speak.” There were 6 worship sessions with 9 challenging messages. The workshops and networking opportunities are invaluable. It is a really busy week, but a really good busy. It is a great opportunity for Jo and me to “recharge our spiritual batteries.” Thanks again. We really appreciate the opportunity to attend.

July sermon topics … This week we will conclude the marriage series … the following Sunday we will work our way through one of the really great chapters in the New Testament – Romans 8.

July 05 – Practicing Genuine Forgiveness Romans 8 – How are you going to live your life?

July 12 – Grace Or Guilt July 19 – Spirit Or Flesh July 26 – Hope Or Despair

If you are in town this weekend I hope you will be in one of the worship services. Invite someone to worship with you this Sunday. Lord willing, I hope to see you and your guests on the Lord’s Day. I love you with the love of the Lord.
