Woman sells three-year-old Chicken McNugget for $8,100SOURCE: THE TELEGRAPH A Nebraska woman has sold a three-year-old McDonald's Chicken McNugget that resembles President George Washington for $8,100 on eBay. The Sioux City Journal in Iowa, USA, says bidding ended on Monday morning. Rebekah Speight of Dakota City sold the McNugget to raise money for a drive to raise $15,000 and send 50 children to summer church camp in Sioux City. She did not disclose who won the auction. Ms Speight says her children didn't eat the chicken during a McDonald's visit three years ago. She was about to toss it, then spotted Washington's resemblance. Ms Speight stashed the McNugget in her freezer. eBay had temporarily taken down the auction last month because it violated rules regulating expired food. She later received an email saying the site was "willing to make exceptions to help your cause." On the auction page for the McNugget Ms Speight wrote: Approximately 3 years ago, I treated my children to ‘99 cent McNugget Tuesday’ and play time at our local McDonald’s. As I was cleaning up, I noticed one
particular nugget and began to laugh. I picked it up for a closer look, and sure enough it was in the likeness of President George Washington. I decided to take it home and show my husband this hysterical find. When he arrived home, I pulled it out of the freezer and he could not believe his eyes. We shared a moment of laughter as we joked about putting it on eBay. Then back in the freezer it went. The students of Family Worship Center in Sioux City, Iowa are in the process of
trying to raise $15,000 for Church Camp this summer. My husband and I felt led to auction this ‘President George Washington Chicken McNugget’ as part of our fund-raising effort. 100% of the money raised will go to Family Worship Center in Sioux City, Iowa. By bidding on this rare ‘President George Washington Chicken McNugget’, not only will you have an opportunity to be the new owner of this rare find, but you will be investing in the lives of children.
Tokyo search for young penguin escapeeSOURCE: BBC An aquarium in Tokyo is trying to locate an escaped penguin seen heading for Tokyo Bay. The escapee, a one-year-old Humboldt penguin, was spotted swimming in a river mouth in the Japanese capital. An official from the harbour-front aquarium said the bird appeared to have scaled a wall in its bid for freedom. The Humboldt penguin hatched last January and lives with 134 penguins in an enclosure at Tokyo Sea Life Park. "We first noticed the penguin might have fled when the director of a
neighbouring zoo e-mailed us Sunday with a photo," park official Takashi Sugino told AFP news agency. He said officials were struggling to recapture it because it swam "at a tremendous speed". The 60-centimetre long penguin was snapped bathing in the mouth of the Kyu-Edo river, which runs into Tokyo Bay. A park official told the BBC that great efforts were being made to find it - and that exactly how the penguin got out remained unclear.
Humboldt penguins breed on the Pacific coast of South America and offshore islands of Chile and Peru. They are thought to be declining in number. One of the reasons is due to increasing water temperatures caused by the El Nino effect and reduced food supply.

Prices are Sofa King low: 'Swearing' advert bannedSOURCE: NEWSLITE.TV
A furniture store has been banned from using the slogan ‘Our prices are Sofa King low’ after advertising bosses was a little too close to swearing. The Sofa King -- which uses the slogan on its shop front and vehicles -- prompted complaints after running an advert in the Northampton Herald and Post. Three people reported the catchphrase was "offensive and unsuitable for general display" to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA). Now the ASA have upheld their objections and banned the firm from using the phrase… which is Sofa King annoying. An ASA spokesperson said: "The ASA noted that the phrase 'Sofa King Low' used the advertiser's company name but considered that it could be interpreted as a derivative of the swear word 'f***', which consumer research had found to be a word so likely to offend that it should not be used in ads at all, even when it was relevant to the name of a product. "Because of that, we concluded that the slogan was likely to cause serious or widespread offence."
Traditional marriage: one man, one woman (one cannibal, one vampire) SOURCE: NEWS OF THE WEIRD
In Sweden, two of the country's most heinous murderers apparently fell in love with each other behind the locked doors of their psychiatric institution and, following a 26-day Internet-chat "courtship," have decided to marry. Mr. Isakin Jonsson (‘the Skara Cannibal’) was convicted of killing, decapitating and eating his girlfriend, and Michelle Gustafsson (‘the Vampire Woman’) was convicted of killing a father of four and drinking his blood. Said the love-struck Jonsson, to the newspaper Expressen, "I have never met anyone like Michelle." The pair will almost certainly remain locked up forever, but Gustafsson, on the Internet, wrote that she hopes they will be released, to live together and "have dogs and pursue our hobbies, piercing and tattoos."
Netanyahu to Obama: 'We Are You, and You Are Us'SOURCE: NEWSER
President Obama and Benjamin Netanyahu tried to project an image of unity today as the president welcomed his Israeli counterpart to the Oval Office. Speaking to reporters before their closed-door meeting, Obama said, "The United States will always have Israel's back," echoing his AIPAC speech.Netanyahu, meanwhile, thanked the president for recognizing that "Israel has the sovereign right to make its own decisions." According to the New York Times, Israeli officials interpreted
Obama's remarks to mean that the US won't block an Israeli preemptive strike. But the differences between the two
leaders' take on Iran was evident. Obama did reiterate that "all options are on the table" to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons, but he didn't explicitly mention military force. Netanyahu, by contrast, never mentioned diplomacy or sanctions. Instead, he focused on affirming US-Israeli kinship. Iran's leaders, he said, refer to the US as "Great Satan" and Israel as "Little Satan." "We are you, and you are us," he concluded. "We are together."

Ray with two of his beautiful bar staff on standby to serve the D.O.G.S. frozen margaritas on ‘A Day of Golf’ on Sunday, February 26 at the Gunung Geulis Golf Resort. Plenty of rain, but you know what the old saying is ‘the show must go on’! It did with most completing the round of 18 holes wet but somewhat cheerful thanks mainly to the consumption of frozen margaritas!

Looking at my cam-er-a for inspiration. Just have shots of Bart sleeping on the plane coming back from Holland. I was doing my best at trying to get drunk on the plane so I could sleep but it wasn’t working so I en-tertained myself by taking pictures of Bart snoring. He would probably kill me if I post-ed one. Hmmm… evil laugh.
Also some pictures of drunken what’s the word? Debauchery, that’s the first time I ever used that word. How’d I do? Any-way yeah, drunken debauchery at De Hooi. Thank God for spell checker. Sounds like there should be a T in there somewhere. I’ve been noticing Fridays at De Hooi seem devoid (another new word for me) of bule bule. Would that be the plural of bule? Bule bule? Sounds like a song.
Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quarto Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw. Had two big horns and a wooly jaw. Bule bule, bule bule. Bule bule, bule bule, bule bule. Hatty told Matty, “Let’s don’t take no chance. Let’s not be L-seven, come and learn to dance.” Bule bule, bule bule. Bule bule, bule bule, bule bule . Matty told Hatty, “That’s the thing to do. Get you someone really to pull the wool with you.” Bule bule, bule bule. Bule bule, bule bule, bule bule.
Oh, sorry, where were we? Oh yeah, bule devoidence. I just made that word up. One, two, tres, quarto. So next time you’re at De Hooi on a Friday, let’s say past 7, intro-duce yourself to me or maybe I’ll introduce myself to you and I’ll buy you a drink. Matty told Hatty, “That’s the thing to do.”And, I got some design ideas from Europe for De Hooi to make it more fu fu. Now I just gotta do it, damn it. Eih!
I just got finished scarfing down some tuna pasta from De Hooi. That’s good stuff. I ordered it spicy. Wow!
Scarfing: Originated in Industrial Revolution era England. People became so hungry they had to steal and eat scarves, for want of any other sustenance. The term was brought back in 60’s New York City, where everything is done quickly including eating and in the winter people would eat so quickly and talk at the same time while gesticulating (holy crap! What kinda word is that?), that they would get their scarves caught in their forks and eat them, thereby resurrected.
I got some gesticulate for ya. Matty told Hatty, “Let’s don’t take no chance.” Eh, that’s a double negative. I like double negatives. Could be something positive.
Thanks for making De Hooi Southern Jakarta’s favorite beer joint.
In yo face,cheerrrrs,
HARRY

EP regulars must have recognized Pak Deh already – for those who don’t, he is the ‘chief manager’ of EP’s enormous park-ing lot where packed columns and rows of y’ all’s cars are parked. His authority frequently extends to the long, narrow and congested road adjacent to our outlet. He’s a very busy guy. Nonetheless, Our Ops Manager Meggy Mumu managed a brief chat with him for this edition’s staff interview.
How long have you been working as a Parking Attendant?Three years.
What did you want to be when you were a child?A parking attendant.
Wow, it’s a dream come true, then. Congratulations!(smiling, nodding)
Can you tell me a few bizarre events that happened on the parking lot?Well.. Among many of those is a stranger falling into a faint in the middle of the road; the midst of the traffic. Also, there are always customers who actually wouldn’t pay for parking fees and conveniently assumed that waving their hands exempted them from that...
Who is your favorite EP customer?Dave Foster!

BuGils FC’s longest ever unbeaten run came to an end two weeks ago.. But that’s enough about the game against DoIt, let’s move on. Yours truly wasn’t there anyway so there’s nothing to report. Honestly, you don’t need to know.
I’m happy to report that winning ways returned against Japan in the first match in March, BuGils coming from behind twice to secure a 3-2 victory. For those who are not aware, the Japan team plays all their games in Sentul, on a large sports field behind the rukos. Invariably, it rains and the matches take place on a quagmire. This time around we were very lucky with the weather -no rain and a perfect setting, except that for some reason the groundsman had decided that the only part of the field where the grass should not be beautifully trimmed was the pitch itself!
The Japanese seemed as unconcerned with this fact as they were with the state of the ball, insisting that the specimen brought by the referee was the only ball we should use, despite the
fact that all the stitching was visibly loose. Eli, having come all the way from Madrid for the game, was none-too-pleased with this state of affairs and launched a campaign to substitute one of the balls we had brought along. The Japanese had evidently been reading about the strange happenings between TimNas and Bahrain mid week and suspected foul play was afoot and so Eli’s campaign failed. One can’t help but wonder what might have been for Eli when he found himself one meter from goal with the goalie floundering. If only the ball had been up to the standard he deserves. Still, it was lucky Will was on hand to find the net when the ball rebounded off the post. Will got another, earning himself the nickname awesome William in the process (from his 10 year old daughter). Alex 2 scored a cracker after a lovely ball from new Basque player Ina to win the game.
So Lens was a happy chappy , returning to winning ways as a coach, or as he pointed out, player-coach. There were no issues with this until Lens went on to talk of the importance of empathizing with his players....and showering with them! At this point we noted that Eddy the Eagle had made a quick exit for the changing rooms, perhaps concerned that Lens might be serious. I cannot confirm what actually went on in the changing room as I was too busy sorting out roadies for the long journey back but I can confirm that Lens managed to find a secret, arguably faster, route back from Sentul - evidently, Lens was keen to keep this a secret as he drove the whole way back, toll road and all, without lights!
G.G.
