ABOUT RUBRICS

Rubrics are an extremely useful tool for grading in Blackboard. They allow instructors to

establish and use specific criteria for evaluating student assignments. This ensures

clear and consistent grading for each assignment.

The advantages of grading using rubrics include:

Providing consistency in grading/evaluation

Presenting assignment expectations up front

Specifying scoring for grading criteria

Giving students the opportunity to self-assess

Allowing for measurement of specific skills

CREATING A RUBRIC

In the left-hand Control Panel, expand the Course Tools section and select Rubrics.
