TESTS, POOLS, AND SURVEYSFaculty and staff “can use tests and surveys to measure student knowledge, gauge progress, and gather information from students.• You assign points to test questions for grading evaluation, but survey questions aren't

scored.• Survey results are anonymous, but you can see if a student has completed a survey

and view aggregate results for each survey question. • Pools are collections and groups of questions that you can include in tests and

CREATING TESTS AND SURVEYS

1. Navigate to where you want to add a test or survey.2. Select Assessments to access the menu and select Test or Survey.3. Select a test or survey from the list.4. Select Submit. The Test or Survey Options page appears.5. Make the test or survey available to students.6. Optionally, select the options for feedback and display, and set the due date and display dates.7. Select Submit.

WHAT IS BLACKBOARD GRADE CENTER?

“The Full Grade Center link displays all columns and rows in the Grade Center and is the default view of the Grade Center. The smart view links appear as an indented list in the Full Grade Center section.”

NEEDS GRADING

• Instructors can view attempts ready for grading or review on the Needs Grading page.

• Click Grade All to begin grading and reviewing immediately, or sort columns or apply filters to narrow the list.

ASSIGNMENTS AND TESTS

• When screen reader mode is on, the Grade Center data appears in a simplified grid.

• To enter a grade, access a cell's contextual menu and click View Grade Details.

• To enter a grade: click the cell, type the grade value, and press the Enter key to submit.

REPORTS

• Create Report• Reports are customized, printable Reports from Grade Center data designed to be shared with Students and Observers.

• View Grade History• Grade History is a tool that tracks all changes to grades within the Grade Center.

• Student Receipts• Each student submission receives a unique confirmation number that verifies that the submission was received.

WHAT IS A TEST POOL?

• A question pool is a collection of questions that is stored for repeated use.

• Questions in a pool are almost identical to test questions.

• Able to create tests from multiple question pools

• Able to select random questions from pool

USING A TEST POOL1. Access the test. From the Reuse

Question menu, select Create Question Set.

2. In the pop-up window, search for questions in the Browse Criteria panel.

3. Select the check boxes for the questions you want to add. The questions appear in the Selected Questions area at the bottom of the screen.

4. Select Submit. The questions are added to the question set on the Test Canvas.

• Adding a survey deploys the survey to a content area.

• Once a survey has been deployed, use the survey options to make it available for students to take.
