-BIOGRAPHY-

28 November 1757 – 12 August 1827William Blake was an English poet, painter and

printmaker. However the man was barely recognised in his lifetime, however largely after. (i.e. now). Although Blake was born in London, he spent his entire life apart from 3 years in Felpham, a village in West Sussex. Just like most famous people, Blake was seen as ‘mad, for his idiosyncratic views, in other words foe being different.

- He was the 3rd out of 7 children.- Blake’s wife Catherine was illiterate when he married her, however he then taught her to read and write and trained her to become an engraver- He left school at the age of 10, and was then educated at home by his mother.- Blake’s father was a hosier, so he didn’t exactly have artists or poets for parents.
