Members of 3 Knights of Columbus Councils recently assisted Catholic

Charities of Northwest Florida in receiving, unloading, and prioritizing a

truckload of donated items from Matthew 25 Ministries via Food for the Poor.

As part of the national K of C Faith in Action Program, “Leave No Neighbor

Behind”, the Supreme and Florida State Councils partnered with Food for the

Poor to bring truckloads of products to Catholic Charities in Florida. Brother

Knights and Boy Scouts from Panama City, Panama City Beach, and

Tallahassee worked to unload 41 pallets (over 36,000 pounds) of

non-perishable items worth over $400,000.00. The donated items will be

used by Catholic Charities to support families in need during this Covid-19

Pandemic Disaster. Items will also be used for Hurricane Disaster Response,

and, if needed, during this storm season. At the end of the unloading

process, the Knights, Scouts, Catholic Charities Executive Director, Matt

Knee, and the husband and wife driver team who delivered the items from

Cincinnati, OH gathered for a group picture. If you are a Catholic man, 18

years or older, and would like to join the Knights of Columbus to support your

Parish and neighbors, please contact Mark Horner (850-251-8563),

Paul Palmiotto (850-326-0714), Jim Anderson (850-228-4253),or

Vaughn Mikeworth (850-544-2003).

We are pleased to welcome Jonathan Shea (Jono) as our new Director of Youth Ministry. Jono moved to Tallahassee in 2007. Jono has a Master’s Degree from Florida State University in Religion and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Religious Studies. He and his wife DeeDee have four children.
