MISSION STATEMENT: Blessed Trinity Catholic Church Stewardship Community recognizes Jesus is Lord. We believe that
our Time, Talent and Treasure are gifts from God to be used for the spiritual, educational and social needs of
our community, the Diocese and the world at large, especially the poor.
STEWARDSHIP BY THE BOOK
The blind man was willing to let Jesus minister to him and willingly did all Jesus asked of
him. The Pharisees were more resistant to His message, spending their time and energy to
disprove the miracle. Which am I more like, the man born blind or the Pharisees?

WORD OF LIFE
“There is an everyday heroism, made up of gestures
of sharing, big or small, which build up an authentic
culture of life… Part of this daily heroism is also the
silent but effective and eloquent witness of all those
‘brave mothers who devote themselves to their own
family without reserve, who suffer in giving birth to
their children and who are ready to make any effort,
to face any sacrifice, in order to pass on to them the
best of themselves’… We thank you, heroic mothers,
for your invincible love! We thank you for your
intrepid trust in God and in his love. We thank you
for the sacrifice of your life” (The Gospel of Life 86).

Today’s readings are filled with contrasting images — God’s vision versus human vision, spiritual blindness versus spiritual sightedness. Embracing a stewardship way of life can free us from spiritual blindness and help us to reflect the light of Christ’s love in our daily lives. Our Second Reading, from Ephesians begins, “…You were once in darkness but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” Because of our Baptism, we have the “light” of the Blessed Trinity dwelling within us. In the difficulties and messiness of daily life, it’s easy to forget this glorious truth about ourselves. It can also be difficult to determine whether we truly are living in a way that reflects Christ’s light. The stewardship way of life, with its emphasis on the rightly ordered use of the gifts of time, talents and treasure, gives us a guide to help ensure we really are living as “children of the light.” In our Gospel passage from John, Christ restores sight to a man born blind. The man says that Christ “opened my eyes.” These Lenten days are an excellent time for us to ask Jesus to open our eyes, too. Let us ask Him to show us where we may be suffering from spiritual blindness, perhaps even in subtle ways in our use — or misuse — of time, talents and treasure. As we continue on our Lenten journey, let’s intensify our efforts in any of these areas where we have become a little blinded so that by Easter, we are truly living as children of the light.

UGANDA – JESSICA BAKER My name is Jessica Baker and I am a junior at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the nursing program. With the great help from the parish I have had the pleasure of going on the Uganda Mission trip for the last three years. This summer I was supposed to study abroad in Italy but those plans have been cancelled due to the coronavirus. So, with your help I would love to be able to go back for a fourth time with the group and further my mission to help the orphanage. Due to school obligations I cannot be here this weekend but my mom, Katherine Baker will be here asking for financial assistance on my behalf so that I may continue to help and show all of the people love at our sister parish in Uganda. Thank you in advance and God Bless.
PLEASE PRAY We turn to Mary, Mother of God, our Patronness, and pray the prayer which Pope Francis offered on March 11:
O Mary, you always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform to the will of the Father and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross, to the joy of the resurrection.
Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in
trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and
blessed Virgin. Amen.
