    9. UNMANAGEABLE

Do you think you can manage Apple better than Tim Cooks? Are you Steve Job's reincarnate? If managing a business, making profits and lobbying relentlessly is your cup of tea; then under

the management hierarchy, you will shine in this game as you discover how to handle a business in a more practical sense!

Beware, game is a misnomer. It's a cut-throat competition! Can you manage it? Please Note- A keen understanding of business or a working knowledge of business terms such

as sales, prices, finished goods, and expenses would be very useful.

Trivia regarding the event- An organisation is not an individual foray; expertise of several different people comes together

to take an organisation to great heights! It is all all-man show, rather than a one-man show. Therefore each team should consist of consist of 4 students with 1 manager and 3 workers.

  • The teams will undergo stages of judgment to identify management skills, power of persuasion, communication skills and ability to think out-of-the-box.

Each team will be provided a brief introduction about a situation, which may/may not be the same for all the teams, subject to the number of teams we get from each college.

The team is required to prepare The Plan for the situation on the lines of a consultancy. The

managers campaign will be defined by a format given by the organisers. However to fill this format he will need to know some information, on which three of his workers will be working on separately.

    The three workers will be working on three different segments- ie. Research & Analysis;

Finance and Sales & Marketing individually; the manager can go to each worker separately and discuss about their particular segment in a stipulated time period, crossing which the team shall be disqualified. The manager can go to one worker any number of times.

The manager will then fill up his format incorporating the ideas of all the workers and come up

with a compiled format, called The Plan. The manager needs to consider the trade-off between the three departments and come up with a middle path that benefits the company as well as wins him the approval of each department.

The manager then has to present the campaign to the judges within a time frame of 3 minutes

which will be followed by judges interrogation of the team. Based on the quality of responses in the first round, there may be a second round; further

testing the capability of the team in this ruthless format.

RULES AND REGULATIONS: 1. A team with less than four members will not be registered. 2. An individual cannot be a part of more than one team. 3. Please contact the persons mentioned below for details on registration. 4. Cross teams are allowed. 5. All the tasks need to be performed within the given time frame otherwise the teams will be

disqualified. 6. In the 1st round, the workers will not be allowed to interact with each other while writing

their segment. 7. In the first round the sheets that are to be filled by the workers should be done clearly and

neatly as they will be perused by the judges. For any queries, contact: Abhivyakti Saxena (9810291193) Ishani Mukherji (9958549756)
