The ThemeBlockchain is one of the highly disruptive technologies of this century that promises direct value exchange over the internet. It is a decentralized technology or distributed ledger on which transactions are anonymously recorded and operated on a consensus model for validation. As the ledger is shared by a number of entities and not controlled by any single entity; the transactions have no single point of failure. Blockchain can be public, consortium, or private. The much talked about crypto currency, Bitcoin, owes its origin to this technology. It is maintained by a network of miners, also called nodes, on the network of computers designed to solve complex mathematical problems to make a transaction go through.

Blockchain technology presents numerous opportunities for disruptive innovations in sectors such as banking and insurance, medicine, healthcare, education, agriculture, defense, music, energy, etc. It promises global business transactions with less friction and more trust. The technology has already made a significant impact on the digital system operation and management particularly in banking and finance. It is known to simplify, automate, digitalize, make reliable, optimize and add more transparency to complex processes, including the workflows with multiple actors and proprietary protocols.

The seminar aims at bringing together the blockchain technologists, enthusiasts, faculty and students to discuss the algorithms, applications and issues concerned with the technology.

ProgrammeThe programme includes panel discussion by the technology experts, followed by paper presentations on the sub-themes. Authors are invited to submit papers related, but not limited, to the sub-themes.

Paper SubmissionFull papers (soft copies) may be submitted by email to conference@theaims.ac.in. Papers will undergo blindfold review and the selected papers will be invited to be presented in the seminar. Such papers may be considered for publication in the AIMS Journal of Research (AJR), a peer reviewed journal indexed by ICI.
