LanguageYou have been working with nouns this week. Today we will look at pronouns. This week you have been learning/revising European Countries and their respective Capital cities. Please re-write the list European Countries and Capitals shown below in alphabetical order.   Remember if two words start with the same letter then you will need to have a look at the second letter and so on, e.g. Amsterdam would come before Austria in the list:

France, Paris,  Portugal, Lisbon, Spain, Madrid,  Germany, Berlin,  Sweden, Stockholm, Poland, Warsaw, Austria, Vienna,  Netherlands, Amsterdam,  Belgium, Brussels,  Norway, Oslo

Health and Wellbeing   Last week we started to learn some basic first aid skills. I hope that nobody has had to use them but keep reminding yourself of how to help if somebody is choking or have a burn. This week we are going to look at the next 2 videos. The first shows how you can help somebody who is bleeding and the second shows how to help somebody who is not breathing. Watch videos 3 & 4.

Remember

First Aid is when we give help to somebody that is hurt or suddenly taken ill. First Aid is the steps you can take before a person gets expert medical help. First Aid can sometimes save a person’s life but more often it is the help given in an everyday accident or illness. It includes staying safe yourself and looking out for danger, helping someone feel better and stay calm. It also includes getting help - either by telling an adult or calling 999.

DO NOT try to copy the videos or any of the actions unless it’s an emergency or an adult has allowed you to practise.

Remember to keep washing your hands. We know how important it is to wash your hands and that washing your hands correctly can stop the spread of lots of diseases.

Español

This week we will revise talking about our age - ¿Cuantos años tienes? You were all very good at this before Easter and this is just a wee reminder. Ethan you will finally be able to say that you are 9

Religious Education   We continue to honour Mary during the month of May. I have included the words and a clip of the hymn Mary Immaculate Star of the Morning. If you can sing it that would be great, or you can just say them or copy the words and decorate them. This week we will also be focussing on the mysteries of the rosary. There are twenty mysteries of the rosary and they are divided up into 4 sets. The mysteries tell us about the life of Jesus. The Rosary begins with The Joyful Mysteries, which are happy stories about Jesus’ birth and his early life. The Joyful Mysteries are

Look up each of these and if you can write a short sentence about each one or draw a picture of each one.

Mary Immaculate, Star of the Morning

Mary Immaculate, star of the morning,Chosen before the creation began, Chosen to bring, for thy bridal adorning, Woe to the serpent and rescue to man. Here, in an orbit of shadow and sadnessVeiling thy splendour thy course thou hast run: Now thou art throned in all glory and gladness, Crowned by the hand of the Saviour and Son.Sinners we worship thy sinless perfection; Fallen and weak for thy pity we plead;Grant us the shield of thy sovereign protection,Measure thine aid by the depth of our need.Frail is our nature, and strict our probation,Watchful the foe that would lure us to wrong:Succour our souls in the hour of temptation,Mary Immaculate, tender and strong.See how the wiles of the serpent assail us,See how we waver and flinch in the fight:Let thine immaculate merit avail us,Make of our weakness a proof of thy might.Bend from thy throne at the voice of our crying,Bend to this earth which thy footsteps have trod:Stretch out thine arms to us living and dying,Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.

I hope that you have been managing to say The Angelus every day and if not every day then as often as you can. You could even arrange to FaceTime/ phone a relative at 12 o’clock and/or 6 o’clock each day and pray with them. I will leave the prayer attached below in case you can’t find it.Did any of you spot the painting in your house or ask relatives if they have it?

The Angelus

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.  Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.   Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.  Hail Mary . . .   And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.  Hail Mary . . .

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Page 13: blogs.glowscotland.org.uk€¦  · Web viewSofia, Macavity might not have known how bold Father Campbell is but we do . Rachel what a terrific job you made with The Good Shepherd

Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.   Please remember to keep praying.

I hope that you all have a lovely weekend and relax and enjoy it. Look after yourselves and stay safe. Remember to try and get out to play and get some fresh air. I hope that some of you are managing to do The Daily Mile with your family, even if it’s not daily or a mile anything is better than nothing.

Remember that you only need to complete the tasks you can manage and don’t worry if you can’t.

Hasta viernes

Mrs Goodwin
