Spouses of deployed Soldiers are eligible to sign up for a Blue Star Card,

which will give you discounts at Family and MWR facilities, activities and

special events. Your Blue Star Card will be valid throughout the entire

deployment. To get your card, visit Army Community Service on Schoeld

Barracks or Fort Shafter.

BIG Big R: Killing or the Crown Murder Mystery, August 30 ACS Training Center, Schofeld Barracks

Dress to impress to celebrate another month of deployment complete by investigating a murder! Join your Blue Star Card

friends on Thursday, August 30, from 6:30 8:30 pm, in the ACS training center, Schoeld Barracks (next to SGT Smith

Theatre) for a fun evening playing Killing for the Crown and interactive murder mystery game centered around a murder

at the Miss America pre-pageant party. This is an adult only event, limited childcare is available. Spaces are limited and

registration is required. To registered call 655-0002 or email Amanda.P.Montgomery.naf@mail.mil by August 23.

Health and Fitness Center Kids on Site Information:

The Kids on Site care for the Health and Fitness center will remain free for valid Blue Star Card holders,

Mon.-Fri., 8-11 a.m., at Kaala Community Activities Center, Bldg. 556. Registration is required. For more

information please call 655-8628.

This does not count against your 16 free hours of care!

Parents Night Out

Parents Night Out will be held August 4 (AMR CDC and AMR Youth Center), August 18 (Bowan CDC and

Schoeld School Age Center). For more information on Parents Night Out or to make a reservation, callthe Schoeld Barracks CYS Services Registration Ofce at 655-5314 or the AMR Registration Ofce at

833-5393.

Star Recipe of the Month:

INGREDIENTS

Pretzel Rods

Candy Melts (or white chocolate bark/

chocolate chips with a little of your favorite

food coloring added)

Paper Labels (make them yourself or

colored paper of your choice

DIRECTIONS

1. Break or cut pretzel rods in half.

2. Melt candy melts or chocolate chips in

microwave on medium heat for 1 minute.

Stir and continue cooking at 15 second

intervals until melted. Stir well. Add a few

drops food coloring if desired.

3. Dip ends of pretzels in melted candy.
