Spouses of deployed Soldiers are eligible to sign up for a Blue
Star Card,
which will give you discounts at Family and MWR facilities,
activities and
special events. Your Blue Star Card will be valid throughout the
entire
deployment. To get your card, visit Army Community Service on
Schoeld
Barracks or Fort Shafter.

Walk o the Wait, May 9 Lanikai Pill Boxes
Join us on our latest Blue Star Card hike to the Lanikai
Pillboxes (also known as bunkers), Wednesday, May 9. Hikingalong
the Kaiwa Ridge, you will encounter two bunkers
built by the U.S. Military during World War II. In addition,
this
short hike offers beautiful views of the windward side of
Oahu. Free transportation will be leaving from the Schoeld
Barracks Bowling Center parking lot at 8:00 am and returning
around 2:00 pm. This hike is considered a 2 star rating (5
star scale). The trail is not stroller accessible. Make sure
to
pack sunscreen and plenty of water! We will also be stopping
for shave ice at Island Snow so please bring some pocket

Bowling Center
Countdown another month of deployment with Blue StarCard on
Tuesday, May 29 at 6 pm at the Schoeld Barracks
Bowling Center. Blue Star Card Families will receive two
free game of bowling and shoe rental. Space is limited and
registration is required. To register call 655-0002 or email
[email protected] by May 24.

Health and Fitness Center Kids on Site Information:
The Kids on Site care for the Health and Fitness center will
remain free for valid Blue Star Card holders,
Mon.-Fri., 8-11 a.m., at Kaala Community Activities Center,
Bldg. 556. Registration is required. For more

Parents Night Out
Parents Night Out will be held May 5 (AMR CDC and AMR Youth
Center), May 19 (Schoeld CDC and
Schoeld School Age Center). For more information on Parents
Night Out or to make a reservation, callthe Schoeld Barracks CYS
Services Registration Ofce at 655-5314 or the AMR Registration Ofce

Star Recipe of the Month:
INGREDIENTS
Bread
Peanut butter or cream cheese
Jelly or jam
Water bottle cap
DIRECTIONS
1. For each sandwich, cut two
slices o bread into fower
shapes with a cookie cutter.
2. Cut a hole in one o the slicesby pressing a water bottle
cap
into the center.
3. Spread the peanut butter and
jelly on the whole piece and
place the slice with the hole
on top.
