Script:Travis walked into the room 134.He looked around, not knowing if they’d be assigned seats the day before.Audio:The school bell ringing and the noise of students coming into the classroom.Effects:The camera angle is spanning over the middle row of chairs but still shows some of the side rows.

Script:Everyone else was dropping papers on a podium as they came in.Audio:Papers rustling and students chatting as walking into the classroom.Effects:The main focus is on the student’s papers that they are handing in as it takes up most of the picture.

Script:He spotted Travis and walked over. The teacher stuck out his hand ‘Owen McQueen’.Audio:Soft chatting of other pupils and the PA system in the background.Effects:The background of the man is white while the main point of attention is at the hand as it takes up most of the room and the main light is on it.

Script:A short, round bald guy with glasses came out of his office.Audio:Students chattering fades as teacher comes out of office.Effects:The background is blurred and the majority of lighting and focus is on Mr.McQueen.

Page 4: Bluefish Story Board. Page 8, 9 & 10: Travis Meets Mr. McQueen

Script:He turned around and wrote the word on the board.Audio:The chalk against the blackboard and whispers getting louder.Effects:The camera angle is on the blackboard, so you can see Mr. McQueen and you can also see that he is writing a word on it.

Script:‘You can sit there.’ He pointed to a seat halfway up the first row.Audio:Rustling of school bags and chairs dragging along the floor.Effects:The picture of the seats is zoomed up to the front middle row and the pointing hand makes it more clear.

Script:“Between now and the ring of the bell in twenty-two minutes you are to pick a book from the library wall. The start reading.”Audio:Muffled p.a. announcements, whispering and students reactions (groans/cheers).Effects:The picture is a close up of Mr. McQueen’s library wall, and the lighting is equally the same to mean that the picture is focused on the books.

Script:It was the no-shoe kid, sitting up in the corner. He was either a grade skipper or a really little eighth- grader.Audio:The teacher talking (as Travis thinks). Teachers walking by in the corridors.Effects:The way this photo is angled draws attention as you can not see this boys face but you can see that it is the ‘No-shoe kid’.

Script:“On Friday please turn in your one-paragraph definition of literature. No copying from Wikipedia. Will have the same result of not turning it in- an F.”Audio:Students Groaning, and the teacher shushing everyone.Effects:These are simple pictures but put together they explain that using the website ‘Wikipedia’ will result as getting an F.

Script:“Meanwhile, start reading, and if you can make it a case of being literature, that works for me. Okay books. Go.”Audio:Chairs getting pushed-out, books opening, stomping noises (as the pupils walk over to the library.)Effects:The girl and her book is focused as the rest of the class is blurred and the main lighting is on her showing that she is what the script is saying.
